Dixie, where do you usually watch these UFC fights? I'm hoping to find a stream for this fight tonight so I can watch the Lesnar fight. It's a lot of damn money to shell out on PPV.

I go to a sports bar and watch it with some friends. I shell out 25.00 bucks for some wings and a couple of drinks and watch the ppv for "free".

Thanks Parody! Three is working for me. I'm fairly new to watching UFC and wasn't sure if the main event would be aired at 10PM or not. I guess it isn't. They are going through the under-card.

could someone explain to me why fighters aren't punished for turning their back to the opponent? i am guessing that some safety rules prevent fighters from punching them in the back of the head, but i don't see how a fighter can ever effectively defend himself (or be protected) when he turns his back purposefully to his adversary.

i don't know much at all about MMA, though. i eagerly await an explanation when one of you knowledgable guys gets the chance. thanks.

also, Joe Rogan is a complete douchebag. how the hell is this "comedian" talking head still on the air? he's never made anyone laugh ... except possibly a sober female who he dropped trousers in front of.

Lesnar was hurt badly at about the 2-minute mark of the first round and never recovered. he was busted up and the fight was stopped late in the first round. ouch.

Outside of Lesnar and Guymon, White fighters were victorious in all caste matchups. Seriously though the Lesnar loss hurts but because he is such a beast we forget that he only started MMA in 2007 and took a year off due to his severe illness. If he can take some time to garner more experience and get better conditioning, I hope he will be back and better than ever. Today he simply gassed out against a better conditioned athlete and started getting clumsy after he slipped on his last takedown attempt.

White Brazilian Junior Dos Santos will likely be the next challenger for the the title. Hopefully he can dispose of Cain while Lesnar and Carwin get more octagon time and coordinate their massive size with better conditioning

Valasquez didn't do any chest thumping or trash talking before the fight. He just went out and took care of business and exposed Lesner, who I never much stock in. Those who did, well, you need to take a closer look sometimes.

Props to Cain.

MMA is just one level higher than pro-wrestling, and it has become the great racial eualizer for the media, they push it on young white people,
"It's hip!!" "Not like that boring boxing!!" and whites take the hook,
mma is just a domestic sport where as boxing has become international,
now boxing has grown to the point that the white-haters lost control of the color line, and non-whites boxers are a joke today, so they push mma, where we all can be equal... Edited by: lost

Maybe it's something to do with wrestling ie the referee's position. If you expose the back of your head it's illegal to rabbit punch, but grappling for a choke hold or to get in temple shots are a huge advantage. Lesnar seems like a dangerous one trick pony. Once he couldn't ground and pound Cain. I knew the fight was over as he isn't skilled enough at the other aspects of MMA to beat top fighters.

I think that diverticulitis took a lot out of Lesnar because his 2 fights since then have been really bad. I think Lesnar's trainers suck. Marty Morgan is a wrestler and I question if he knows anything about striking. Lesnar needs atleast 6 months of boxing lessons before he gets back in the cage. If he gets rushed we can expect the same results. As soon as Lesnar could not hold Cain down I knew he was going to lose. Lesnar's trainers are partially to blame. He should have better striking and ground defense by now. The one bright spot is that Lesnar did get Velasquez down pretty easily. Had he got him down near the cage he might have won.

Overall Lesnar needs to get new coaches that can teach him MMA. Time is short for Lesnar and he might not be that into it. I think the MMA thing was to pay the bills he ran up while making huge money in the WWE. If Lesnar was taking this thing seriously he would have better strike.

On a side note: The casino was filled witH Mexicans and White race-traitors cheering hestiracally as Lesnar was beaten. Mexicans have lost so many times you had to figure they would eventually win. I think JDS or Carwin could beat Velasquez. Carwin actually did better against Lesnar than Velasquez until he gassed out.

I was actually going to put down some money on Cain V. even though I was supporting Lesnar.Although I didn't pull the trigger on that. This fight was going to be tough for Lesnar and there is no denying that Cain is technically much more sound in almost every facet.

The 'expert pundits' are basically correct in that Lesnar has gotten this far on pure size, athleticism, and power. His MMA skills are basic at best and most of you guys who know MMA realize this.
I agree with Howard. Striking and ground defense is below average from Lesnar. And at that level, forget it...let's be frank, Lesnar was lucky to escape Carwin in July.
Cain V. has impressive combination of skill, size, striking power and tenacity. As well as a noticeable calmness in the face of total chaos - which is the Octagon with huge beasts such as Lesnar.

Cain does not panic one bit and counters with impressive skill and appears a total natural fighter. Lesnar, yes, can and should improve his striking and defense, yet has immense power. Yet, you can tell his natural instinct is to cover or bail out. He seems shocked when someone is actually able to pummel him.
Cain clearly dominated Lesnar once the striking began. I think Lesnar is afraid of getting hit at all (who can blame him?)

Yes, Lesnar gambled on a quick take down and smoother attempt. This failed and the rest is history...
now, don't you think Fedor realizes he matches up well with Cain?

I don't see anyone out there in the near future with the well rounded skills and size to defeat Cain V. in UFC.

We have our first "Mexican" heavyweight champion of UFC! They must have said that 50 times, although he was born and raised in the U.S.A. Oh well, Brock sucked and I wasted $45. I'm pretty sure I won't waste another $45 to watch Brown Pride. With 12 Mexicans per household, his PPV numbers won't be impressive. The only fight worth a damn was Hamill over Ortiz. Brock was a disaster, he looked like he didn't have a clue of how to fight. Even when he got his hands on Cain, he couldn't hold onto him. Very disappointing.

Being a superior athlete doesn't mean you'll be a superior fighter. Everything now for Lesnar has to be skill development.

One thing I dislike about boxing, MMA, and almost every sport is that when White athletes are successful, the media always tries to qualify that success somehow (rich, privileged, lucky, overly hard worker, etc.) -- rarely because they're simply talented -- but when they falter, it's because they're White, incompetent and unathletic.

Compare this to instances of Black success, where in it seems to be okay to assume that the athlete succeeds simply because of "Blackness".

I knew Cain would win when I saw Lesnar before the fight.

He looks very different than he did before his illness, softer and weaker.

I hate that brown pride won, but after what Lesnar said about being built like a black man, I'm not as disappointed as I would have been otherwise. Having said that Lesnar is still fairly new to the sport, so he could still improve his skills quite a bit.
