I'll be pulling for KenFlo, Forrest, Hendricks, Almeida, Riley, McCrory, Sakara, Roop & Lennox. I'd love to see Forrest sub Silva, but his best chance may be via decision.

It's good to see TUF winner Amir Sadollah healthy enough to finally get his fight career going in the UFC. I think this side of Forrest Griffin, he may be the most likeable and funny guy in MMA. I wish him well.

I am VERY confident that Kenny Florian will beat B.J. Penn. It will be a one-sided beating as well. B.J. is slipping (mentally and physically) and Kenny gets better with every fight. I see B.J. quitting on his stool after taking a beatin' for 3 straight rounds.

On paper, you have to go with Anderson Silva to beat Forrest. But Griffin does win fights he is not supposed to (Rampage, Rua) so you never know. Silva has looked awful in his last few fights so I do hold out some hope of an upset for our guy.

Undercard is week but I believe there are a few caste fights. Almeida is a a white Brazilian with great BJJ. I think he is fighting a black guy (Grove).

The other caste match-up (after Forrest vs. Silva) is Tamdam McCory (White) vs. John Howard (negro). Shane Nelson looks mixed & has a rematch against White LW Aaron Riley.

I know someone who trains with Riley and he thinks very highly of him and his chances.

WEC LW Donald "The Cowboy" Cerrone is 26 years old, with a 10-1 record and set to fight (negro) Ben Henderson for the WEC LW title on September 2nd. Cerrone has crisp striking (29-0-1 as a kickboxer, 2006 S1 U.S. Muay Thai Champ), good BJJ (9 sub wins) and a tough chin.

Along that line I have to wonder exactly how Forrest's brain functions. Going into the match everyone knew that Forrest had both a weak chin and paper punching power, not to mention the fact that he was facing one of the best if not the best p4p striker in MMA. Everyone knew Forrest's advantage would be his size, strength, and wrestling.

THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for Forrest to stand with Anderson in the first place taking all the above into account. Yet not only did he stand with him, but he continued to do so after being knocked down twice. He didn't even try to clinch or takedown once.

Conclusion: Forrest may have big balls but he has no brain, no chin, and no punching power. He makes fights exciting, but is too stuborn to take it to the ground when he knows he's being outclassed

This has already made ESPN and now we have to hear about Anderson facing Roy Jones Jr. in a circus boxing match, and be procliamed the p4p greatest ahead of Fedor and GSP. The only UFC Middleweight who can beat him is Dan Henderson in a rematch, too bad UFC couldn't get Mouassi.

Forrest was an embarrasment tonight. He's now been KO'ed by 2 black fighters back to back. Time to re-asses his game plan and make some changes, or he's close to being done.

I wonder if we'll ever see a Machida vs Silva fight, now that would be someting. I know we talk about Fedor being the best and all, but until he gets into UFC and fights and beats a guy like Lesnar, we have to consider Silva as the best p4p fighter in the world after tonight's domination. He basically toyed with Forrest. GSP is like 1b (to Silva's 1a) or a very close 2nd behind him.

So, a good argument can be made amongst those three (Fedor, Silva, GSP) and each will have a convincing case.

What is Forrest thinking? You have to fight your own style to win. There are many ways to win a fight and a win is what's important. I still think Silva would have won, but Forrest should have turned it into a wrestling match and done everything to elude a punch fest. I don't know if he would have been good enough to elude taking a big punch, but he's quick and agile- so it was worth a shot. He had to turn the match into a dance around the ring fight- and then take any opportunity he had to get into a grapple and take down Silva...damn!

That was horrible.Theirs absolutely no way MMA is a white dominated sport,no way.A black fighter hasnt defeated a white guy like that in a boxing main event for a long time and that defeat brought back the bad memories of boxings dark days.The most important fights of yesterdays card featured 2 Black v White fights ,prime caste matchups which both whites lost which is becoming an all too constant theme now in the UFC.Black fighters coming out on top in the important caste matchups.They need to get in Europeans like Mousasi,Mamed Khalidov,Zaromskis.One difference between MMA and boxing though is the European participation.MMA has not really opened up in Europe as of yet but the talent their is starting to emerge particularly in Britain,Poland,Croatia and the Balken countrys but whats now starting to become clear is that the top brass and talent scouts in the UFC seem to be deliberately ignoring the best these countrys have to offer with the exception of the UK maybe.They could have signed Mousasi,not only recently but even when he was the hot free agent prospect before signing with Dream,they could have also signed Zaromskis too whos been a dominant force on the UK circuit for the last 2 years.Its becoming obvious that the agenda is to keep the UFC as a viable PPV entity in the States by ensuring the champions and contenders sre home grown,a policy that will eventually lead to more dominant Black and Hispanic American born fighters to appeal to their dollars and growing demographic in which the UFC will be a complete contrast to boxing and no different to any other North American sport.

These are a list of white fighters that could easily hold their own within the UFCs ranks but are being ignored for one reason or another.Most of these guys will end up in Japan or some other org that dosnt opperate based on Caste ethos.

Ditto on Forrest needing to work take-downs. He lacks the iron chin & has zero KO power. He needs to become a GnP or Submission oriented fighter. As for Silva, I still will not give him the best P4P spot...mine goes Fedor, GSP, Machida then Silva. BTW, don't expect Maia to stand with Silva...and Damian's BJJ is ADCC championship level.

I expected the Forrest\Silva fight to at least be competitive. I was obviously pulling for Forrest and Ken Flo but Forrest got embarassed. The Penn vs Florian fight at least went 4 rounds but Bj was the better man. BJ seemsunstoppable against anyone BUT GSP!!

Well, I'm not sure. Silva is right up there. The guy just keeps going from 185-205-185 destroying people. Admittedly, his last 2 fights were lackluster, but last night was total domination. I also partly blame the opposition for not being able to mount a credible challenge with a solid game plan.

I think his accomplishments and record are very much comparable to GSP and Fedor. As for Machida, I'd like to see him defend and hold on to his title a couple more times before he can mentioned on the list with the other 3.

Ricardo Almeida(white hispanic) beat the Hawaiian Kendall Grove and Riley beat another hawaiian Shane Nelson(mixed), so that worked out good. Looks like Penni is the only hawaiian who will be heading back to the islands happy!

I hate to confess this, but I have no idea what pound-for-pound rankings are even supposed to signify. In the early UFC days, with no weight class restrictions, it made sense. But what does it mean to rate Silva, say, higher p-for-p than, say, Fedor, when their opponents are restricted to contrasting weights? What's the basis of comparison?

forrest should have approached the fight differently, but the outcome would still have been the same. forrest just got outclassed by a better fighter, plain and simple. silvas striking is just amazing. only one person (not including heavyweights of course) i have seen in the UFC whos striking is on par with his: Chuck Lidell.

Anyone think the UFC suggested to Forrest that he 'make it an exciting fight' like Elite XC did to Seth Petruzzeli against Kimbo? Maybe he was working for a 'fight of the night bonus.'

He took much harder shots from Rampage straight on the jaw and didn't go down. The KO shot from Anderson Silva was a straight jab off of one foot while backpedaling.

Maybe Forrest wasn't out, he just didn't want to fight anymore.

Who knows? Anderson Silva has to be recognized as the best MMA fighter on the planet right now. I know we love Fedor on this board, but I don't know anyone in the game right now that I would favor over Anderson. There is a list of 'well, maybe...' but would any of you put money down against Silva? I certainly wouldn't.
