My one problem with Kaufman is his nickname, GW (as in great white) Hope, which implies that such a phrase is appropriate in todays world of heavyweight boxing, when in fact good up and coming black boxers should be the ones with nicknames such as GB (great black) hope.

The term Great White Hope only applies to a White AMERICAN boxer, and that is somewhat true. Hardly any white American champs to see (with Pavlik and Mallignagi now as ex-champs).

The myth of the Great Black Hope though is slowly growing, and only the bias boxing media and idiotic fans are in a state of denial.

When whites continue to dominate boxing in the next 10 to 20 years you will still never hear the term "Great Black Hope." The media will continue to make excuses for blacks. They will never demean them in the way they have demeaned white fighters for decades now.

They didn't just refer to our fighters as "great white hopes". They mocked them as "great white dopes", too.

Travis has a make or break fight coming up on November 8. He'll face Tongan prospect Bowie Tupou 19-1(15) on ESPN2 from Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.

Kaufman is having an exposure fight against the 7' statue Julius Long. On the card Monte Barrett is fighting a Long type opponent and Oldyfield is fighting another stiff and so is Cedric Boswell. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if Oldyfield fought Boswell and Kaufman fought Barrett the card would be a very good card and worth the PPV price of $29.99....

Nope, Kaufman is out of this fight. He's sick.

They're constantly trying to hustle this stupid Holyfield fight. I doubt whether they've sold many pay per view tickets - the greedy bastards and their ppv BS, killing what's left of boxing!
