Both are raw prospects. Richards was ko'd early in his career, but has won about 20 straight since. Kaufmann is trained by his pops and is probably considered the better prospect. On a side note Kaufmann spent time in jail for statutory rape so he has been out of commission for about a year.

Richards is fighting Tim Witehrspoon's nephew in November. Both only have one loss.

Adam Richards appears to be a decent fighter but a bit slow moving. He and Witherspoon seem like a fairly even matchup.

Kauffman is the only white American heavy worth following. Minto is good too, but not a top 10 fighter. Travis could be a top fighter one day as he is big enough and had an excellent amateur career.

Most of the American prosects (Marrone, Grano, Richards, Mollo, Minto) are between 6' and 6'2 and 215 - 220 pounds. This is way too small for today's heavyweight division.

J.D. Chapman is 6'5, 250 and undefeated at 29-0. But he has had one fight in over 13 months and has apparently lost interest in boxing. He turned down a fight with David Haye a few months ago.

You're right. I really wish some of these guys would fight at Cruiser.

Kauffman stopped Cliff Couser in the first round on the Darchinyan-Arce undercard

Good win considering Couser stopped Monte Barrett about a year ago.

Couser is definately a shot fighter just looking for a payday. Despite this, this is a VERY good win for Travis Kauffman. As pointed out, Couser stopped Barrett, and is a guy who will give you trouble or upset you if your not on your game. Considering the short notice, a very good win for Travis.

BJ Flores said he felt too small and weak to fight top heavyweights. He is about the same size as these prospects. Marrone, Richards and Minto have all lost and their size was a mitigating factor in these losses.

Richards faces journeyman Harvey Jolly 9-10-1(4) on August 22. Adam has lost nearly 40 pounds since last year and is now competing at Crusierweight.

Travis Kauffman will appear on Friday Night Fights this week. Kauffman is probably our best American Heavyweight prospect.

New foe for Kauffman

Travis Kauffman (18-0, 15 KOs), of Reading, Pa., had absolutely no trouble with William Shanahan (7-2, 6 KOs), needing just 1:20 and a knockdown to stop his foe.

For the second week in a row ESPN refused to show one of our top prospects

yet they'll show "other" prospects fighting worse fighters than Shanahan.

Wow - a battle of two white American prospects. Kauffman is bigger though and should win.

It looks like Richards"The Swamp Donkey" is getting a shot at "Captain" Huck. It sounds like something out of an old AWA wrestling card........

Richards will lose but it is always cool when a white American gets to fight for a title. Also, I don't think Adam will embarass himself. At least he will lose to a fellow white man.
