I figured I’d give this it down thread with how big it has become in college football recently.

VMI WR Jakob Herres who has been dominant in the FCS has announced he is entering the transfer portal. I’m assuming he is trying to move up to a big school for NFL exposure. He’s 6’4” 225 with big stats to back up his size. Will be interesting to see where he ends up!

Utah QB Peter Costelli enters the transfer portal. 2021 4 star QB.

He's got home run speed as a Dual Threat. Hope he chooses wisely. Utah State or Nevada would be great options and still close geographically where he's at.

One is escaping. McCord needs to follow suit.

Ohio State redshirt freshman QB Jack Miller will enter the transfer portal.

The 2020 four-star recruit has not seen much playing time due to playing behind the potential Heisman Trophy winner CJ Stroud. This season he's completed just 7-of-14 passes for 101 yards. It might be nice to see him get a fresh start with a new environment, especially after he was arrested for DUI and suspended by the team for some time.

Fresno QB Jake Haener follows his coach to Washington as a grad transfer.

It’s amazing how many mediocre affletes are jumping into the portal as well. Looks like many of Cuck Riley’s recruits/ players are jumping the ship at Oklahoma.

Noticed Clemson LB Kane Patterson has entered transfer portal. 6'1 250, 34tkls as a backup with 2 years eligibility left. His younger brother is a HS Sr. and committed to Vanderbilt. So look out for Commodores to potentially add another Patterson to the mix.

Martinez transfers out at Nebraska!
I saw the article over at BSPN. They mentioned all of his career stats and made him sound wonderful, as he holds a bunch of Nebraska records due to the sheer amount of starts. Left out of the the article, of course, was his record as a starter. Wouldn’t want to mention how his time as starter has been a total failure.

Martinez also benefitted from a career’s worth of unsuccessful fourth quarter comebacks, throwing and running on soft zone coverages meant to protect leads and burn the clock. The Deshaun Watson brand of stat padding, if you will.

I was afraid Ewers might be making a mistake going to Ohio State. I hope he can find a place that can use his skill set. I believe he was the number 1 prospect when he left high school.

Glad to see Ewers make the correct decision. Kyle McCord should do the same. Hopefully Ewers doesn't make a boneheaded decision...again.

Johnson should start wherever he ends up.

LSU redshirt freshman QB Max Johnson entered the transfer portal.

Johnson (6'5/219) took over as LSU's starter late in 2020, leading upset wins over Ole Miss and Florida before battling Myles Brennan for the starting QB job in the spring. Brennan got injured so Johnson had control of the starting job while Garrett Nussmeier served as his understudy. This year Johnson started out hot, throwing 15 of his 27 touchdown passes in the first four games. However after star receiver Kayshon Boutte got hurt mid-season, Johnson's performance went down and he was at one point pulled in favor of Nussmeier before he too entered the portal. All told, he connected on 312-of-4 524 passes for 3,878 yards, 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions over his LSU career. With five-star freshman Walker Howard coming in this spring, and a new coaching staff on the way, Johnson is opting to start fresh elsewhere next season.

Haener removed himself from the transfer portal. Jeff Tedford returned to Fresno state as the head coach - not sure if that played a role.

Thanks for making that list Red Raider!

NEBRASKA is looking at LSU transfer QB Myles Brennan....Southern Miss was another school rumored on local msg boards...Tulane also briefly mentioned
....Brennan tore an abdominal muscle in his 3rd start of 2020...the injury was so rare had they done the surgery the injury would have been named after him (like Tommy John surgery /elbow)....then this past Summer he had a freak fishing accident breaking his arm.

I'd prefer Brennan at Southern Miss! I want Nebraska to unleash their Dual Threat Smothers!

Devito disappointed at Syracuse and never lived up to his recruit rank. He'll be interesting to follow next year as Illinois continues it's transition to Wisconsin-lite.

Former Syracuse redshirt junior QB Tommy DeVito commits to Illinois.

After losing the starting quarterback job to Garrett Shrader, DeVito (6'2/208) entered the transfer portal and found his next home in Illinois. With Brandon Peters moving on and Artur Sitkowski is set to miss spring practice with an injury, DeVito will have a chance to win the starting job outright or at the very least get a head start in the competition. In his career at Syracuse, it was up and down for DeVito, having thrown for 3,866 yards and 28 touchdowns in his career, but also threw 12 interceptions.

It will be curious to see who ends up the starter with the Cornhuskers. Smothers showed his talent in the last game of the season. Whipple did great things with Pickett at Pitt.

Good pick up for Bret Bielema! I actually thought Devito's numbers were worse than that! Change of scenery should do him good.

Smart decision by Frost to bring in Whipple as OC @Leonardfan .
