There have been a load of transfers from our guys. I know a lot of posters here prefer that our highly rated QBs land at spots with a proven track record of consistently playing and starting white QBs, but it seems right now that a lot of our guys are going to places where they will replace non-white QBs.
Off the top of my head;
Hunter Johnson (Northwestern/Clemson) back(!) to Clemson. Should challenge DJ Uiagaleli as a starter, although incoming recruit Cade Klubnik might replace both.
Bo Nix (Auburn) to Oregon, where he should replace Ty Thompson.
Quinn Ewers (Ohio State) to Texas to replace Casey Thompson.
And although Thompson just left to Nebraska, so did Chubba Purdy (Florida State), both will have to battle Logan Smothers.
I never saw him mentioned here, but Dillon Gabriel (UCF) landed at Oklahoma after a brief time committing to UCLA. He is a bit tan, but a google search of his parents shows that he appears to be fully white.
Jack Miller (Ohio State) should challenge Emory Jones at Florida.
Paul Tyson (Alabama) could challenge Jayden Daniels at Arizona State.
Zach Calzada (Texas A&M) should replace Nix at Auburn. Max Johnson (LSU) replace Calzada at TAMU.
Cade Fortin will walk on at Arkansas, I wouldn't count him out.
All in all, the transfer portal should hopefully add to our ranks in starting FBS QBs. A lot of these guys left entrenched non-white starters to places where they should be able to win the starting job.
Other notable transfers WR Joseph Manjack (USC to Houston), pretty caste team but if he rightfully gets a starting job he should put up BIG numbers. Already made an impact at USC as a freshman. LB West Weeks (Virginia to LSU) another caste team, but one in rebuild mode, should hopefully contribute right away. Alabama LB Jackson Bratton (UAB) and Drew Sanders (Arkansas) should both be immediate starters. Sanders is a future NFL prospect and his arrival at Arkansas should make them more tolerable as two of their current white starting LBs are graduating.
There are so many more players transferring in and out, hopefully me or someone will else will get to them. Just saw Chase Cota (UCLA) is leaving, could he wind up at Oregon?
