I recall Shapiro having a column in Pro Football Weekly in the 1970's when he covered the Redskins. The gist of his Tiger column is that the media had no idea of Tiger's "extracurricular activities."

NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Times is reporting a Canadian doctor who has treated golfer Tiger Woods, swimmer Dara Torres and NFL players is suspected of providing athletes with performance-enhancing drugs, according to several people briefed on the FBI inquiry.

In a story posted on its Web site on Monday night, the newspaper reports Dr. Anthony Galea was found with human growth hormone and Actovegin, a drug extracted from calf's blood, in his bag at the U.S.-Canada border in late September. He was arrested Oct. 15 in Toronto by Canadian police. Using, selling or importing Actovegin is illegal in the States.

Galea and his attorney say they're confident he hasn't broken any laws.

The newspaper reports federal investigators are basing the inquiry in part on medical records found on Galea's computer.

Google Ted Butler and read some of his stuff. He's been a silver bull for a long time. A true silver fanatic is Izzy Friedman, who mentored Butler. He thinks silver is going to be more expensive than gold, e.g. over $1,000 per oz.

Artest offers Tiger encouragement</font>

CHICAGO (AP)â€"Lakers forward Ron Artest(notes) gave Tiger Woods his support Tuesday, explaining in a blog post that he has made similar mistakes as the superstar golfer.

In a post Tuesday, Artest said, "I can tell you're a standup guy"Â￾ while acknowledging his own infidelities. He wrote about having a baby with another woman after having two with his girlfriend, now his wife. Artest also called Woods "the perfect role model for me and my sons for longer than anyone I have known."Â￾

Speaking before the Lakers' game against the Bulls on Tuesday night, Artest said Woods was there at a time when "I wasn't a role model for my sons."Â￾

Woods' image has been in a free fall since he crashed his car into a tree Nov. 27, setting off a public airing of his infidelities and marital problems.

Artest made headlines when he told a magazine he would get drunk during games while with Chicago and that he bought alcohol at a liquor store down the street from the United Center and slipped it into his locker.

Woods received 56 of the 142 votes cast by AP member editors since last month. More than half of the ballots were returned after the Nov. 27 car accident outside his Florida home that set off sensational tales of infidelity.

Lance Armstrong, a cancer survivor who won the Tour de France six times this decade, finished second with 33 votes. He was followed by Roger Federer, who won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other man, with 25 votes.

A new image emerged quickly in the days following his middle-of-the-night accident, when he ran his SUV over a fire hydrant and into a tree.
