I would like to point the members of this forum to this thread on boxrec.com.

The thread shows how many boxing bouts took place in each year since the mid 1800s. The data is provided by the boxrec owners themselves. (there is additional data spread throughout multiple pages of the thread)

If we look at this data, we can come to several conclusions:

1. The 1920s-1940s were called "The Golden Age" for a reason - this period had the highest amount of boxing bouts than any other period.
2. The 1960s and 1970s, ie. the Ali Era, was one of the weakest eras in the last century of boxing in terms of competition.
3. Today's era, ie. The International Era is second only to the Golden Age of boxing in terms of total competition.

Yet every media outlet tries to tell us that 'boxing is dead' and today's era lacks competition.

Perusing the site I just came across this fascinating info. I wish people here could hear all the gushing over Ali at Quora. The Ali lovers all try to outdo one another in their perverted love for this black person. They fall all over themselves in their rush to glorify the 1960s, 70s, and 80s boxers at the expense of the Klitschkos, Usyk, Lomachenko, GGG, and Fury, among others. Their man goal is to exalt Ali to the status of Sainthood.

Now make no mistake. These Ali sycophants at Quora (and elsewhere) are not black men, they are all white men. They are all baby boomers who grew up with stars in their eyes over Ali, the traitor. They call him a "great man" and they outdo each other in their efforts to describe how badly their black man would beat up on the Klitschkos, Fury, and other great heavyweights today. It is nauseating, but beyond nauseating because they are all WHITE sycophants.

Today we are seeing a monstrous Russian heathen destroy the beautiful nation and ultra-courageous people of Ukraine. The fact that some of the best boxers in the world have had their careers destroyed is a minor by-product of this, but yet another of the million demolitions being executed by this obscene cretin. And once the last of the Ukrainian resistance is eliminated, we know that along with Zelensky, the Klitschko brothers will be singled out for execution, and possibly Loma and Usyk as well.

True. There's no question that Ukraine has committed national suicide. Much as I am awed by their courage, I am depressed by this fatalistic enterprise. We took the powerful Brits on in 1775, but there was evidence that we could possibly win due to insanely long British supply lines. Besides, we weren't fighting barbarians bent on laying waste to everything.

I fear Vitali and Wlad are dead men, probably in just the scenario you described.

That's what happened with Pat Tillman. He was routinely mocked for a supposed lack of athleticism despite putting up spectacular numbers, highlighted by 155 tackles one season, unbelievable for a safety.
