The purpose of this thread is to discuss the sports media, especially as it relates to white athletes. It is also to discuss anti-white racism in the sports media.

There is a site called Pro Football Focus. They have depth charts in which they rate the players.

I noticed they had Pro Bowler Paul Posluszny, who had 162 tackles last year, as a below average starter.

Chad Greenway, who had 134 tackles last year, was rated as a poor starter.

These ratings are ridiculous. Tackles aren't the only factor in evaluating a linebacker but they should be one of the main ones.

Posluszny and Greenway are good starters. I would guess that race had a part in their bad ratings.

obiously they must look at other things, not everything is without bias and things can be manipulated although they act like they are the one site that doesnt. I saw the preview for the jags and they say Poz is "limited" and although he led the league in tackles and was their 3rd best run defender , "there were times where he was slow over the top of a run" or "failed to get off blocks" if that were true then he wouldnt have had so many tackles. His coverage has been bashed but he is pretty good in coverage for a linebacker. He got bashed for one play years ago where Fred Jackson beat him one on one for a 30 yard gain, and it was a mental mistake on his part after he had to defend himself ,after a change to a new system, the poor guy was pretty beaten up and asked around and realized "wait pretty much every linebacker will lose sometimes in one on one situations". Its just guys like him are crucified for mistakes like that.

Sports Illustrated has had a hard on for Johnny Manziel since he started breaking records his freshman year. In their newest issue, the NFL scouting reports, SI rips Manziel for about 75% of their Cleveland Browns report. Truly pathetic.

Also, SI has had a mancrush on Braxton Miller for 2 or 3 years now. It must be killing them that they keep predicting he will win the Heisman Trophy and he can't even stay on the field.

Two factors (I perceive) really messing up contemporary sports media..

- 24 hour sports news cycle.. which calls for tabloid off-the-field 'news' & useless, overanalyzed minutiae to fill up dead time between games & seasons.
- The infiltration of traditional media Liberals into sports media.. prompting cultural Marxist perspectives & proselytizing into sports news.

Imo., the Ray Rice & Peterson stories have personified this combination. Yesterday, both Fox network pre-games I watched led with tabloid Rice/Peterson off-the-field stories (instead of game day analysis). And another network was bothering female Raven fans @ the Thursday night game who were wearing Rice jerseys. Indignantly asking 'How could any woman now wear a Rice jersey ?' But the truth is, the she-WFs probably didn't wanna lose the 100 bucks they spent on it after they bought it over the summer.. Who cares, it's not newsworthy.

I've noticed that every 2 weeks or so, they release another "sports" story, like Michael Sam, Donald Sterling, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson...events which happened months before or could have been released at any time. Then, all the "sports" media beats the story to death for a couple weeks.

Good call.., I remember when Nelson Mandela passed away, ESPN spent days celebrating & eulogizing his life... Right now I'm listening to Mike Golic deliver a lecture on 'sports' radio about child abuse.
The so-called sports & mainstream medias have basically mated into a single, full-time stream of cultural Marxist commentary.

Even as recent as 20-25 years ago, it would've seemed strange & inappropriate for Madden & Summerall to spend half their call glorifying South African Marxism, or preaching on child rearing instead of talking X's & O's.. but here we are now.
I hope that a dude with resources will eventually start his own sports media outlet, and create a professional paradigm there w/no political commentary :noidea:

.

Right on both points. There's too much time to fill so they grab a hot topic and beat it to death. I swear it makes me ill to switch to one of the local sports stations and they are still going on about Rice and Peterson.

As for an "infiltration" by leftists into sports, that has been going on a long time. I noticed just recently two popular commenters picked up on it.

Steve Sailer:
Why Are the Dumber Sportswriters So Liberal?
The mass of not very bright sportswriters has been true believers in liberal dogmas for maybe four decades. I can recall the sports media’s crusade to get George Allen (father of the future Republican Senator) fired as coach of the Washington Redskins in the mid-1970s, which was very much a self-conscious junior varsity repeat of Woodward-Bernstein’s crusade to overthrow Richard Nixon: If the Washington Post news section could take down the President, then the Washington Post sports section should take down the Redskins’ coach, who reminded them of Nixon for complicated 1970s reasons.
http://www.unz.com/isteve/why-are-the-dumber-sportswriters-so-liberal/

and Rush Limbaugh:
CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I was looking at the failure of left-wing talk radio and the failure of left-wing media, which includes MSNBC, CNN, and the New York Times. And what I've discovered here is that left-wing media has taken over sports talk and sports talk radio.

RUSH: Yeah, that's exactly right. I think you are on to something profound there.

CALLER: And, unfortunately, the people that listen to it are kind of unaware.

RUSH: Oh, they don't think it's politics. It's sports. You're exactly right. That's it in a nutshell. They don't think it's possible. It's like low-information don't think Democrats are in politics. The Republicans are politics. They're the bad guys. They're the ones standing in the way of progress.

RUSH: Folks, he may be exaggerating a bit there to make a point, but Scott is on to the way this is playing out. See, the secret in this is that the sports talk audience thinks that they are, "I don't like talk radio. I don't like politics." And they are hip deep in left-wing politics. And it's not just sports talk radio anymore. It's television. It's television sports. I've been trying to tell people as long as I've been aware of it that the sports Drive-Bys, if it's possible, are more liberal than their news Drive-By brothers and sisters. It is a stunning reality when you run up against some of them, when they're guests on CNN or when they're guests on MSNBC, it's stunning.

The Associated Press polled 94 editors to determine 2014's top 'sports' stories..

The winner was the NFL's domestic abuse scandals. Runner-up was Donald Sterling's private argument.
This poll, in my mind, is an open admission from the sports media that they are consumed with social issues, and their opportunities for subsequent cultural Marxist commentary and propaganda, over impartial sports reporting.

It's completely dishonest @ this point, to dismiss critics & accusers of a Liberal media as paranoid.

Yes, it's leftist social issues first and the leftist distortion of sports second.

Unfortunately, this is the idiocy that passes as halftime analysis..

Networks shouldn't even bother with the pretense of suits and ties anymore.. In an honest acknowledgement that this is free money, they should let their expert analysts just come to work in wife beaters, and football jerseys, etc.

Here's a pretty good article about the self destruction of football by someone named Phil Mushnick. It's a pretty good article. It shows that there are still some reasonable sports journalists out there.

https://nypost.com/2021/01/03/football-is-destroying-itself-2/

Beyond the awful NYP website with its woke communist advertising for mega corp goodness that was a bit informative that at least one 'mainstream" gimp has issues with our brave new world of sports and the media PR clowns. This week we went to get some wings at Hooters and the only thing I could see was NBA basketball, all I can say is that the author you link to should be glad he does not have to cover that. I thought most NFL games were crap this year, but OMG that is a horrible product.

My money is on pretty much a fail, they are two years too late. As I wrote on another thread blacks are as popular as head lice with white and jewish progs, never mind the other coloreds. If the progs can't use them to skim off them or use them electorally blacks are at best useless drags. Point being the leftist coalition comes together to hate White men other than that they hate one another so this Black Supremacy Sports venture is DOA, no audience and half the blacks that might comprise its audience will be going to click bait sports sites with the usual busty white chicks as the bait. And none of the masked up twinks that troll twitter will even spend a second on a sports site.

The New York Times is doing away with its sports reporting altogether and will replace the content with online access for subscribers to 'The Athletic,' which they purchased in 2022 for $550 million dollars.

Blogger Vox Day doesn't cite his numbers here, but they ring true:

Success in Clown World
Funding History: The Athletic raised $139.5 million via five funding rounds beginning in 2017.

 • Seed Funding: $2.3 million led by Courtside Ventures
 • Series A: $5.4 million led by Courtside Ventures
 • Series B: $20 million led by Evolution Media
 • Series C: $40 million co-led by Founders Fund & Bedrock Capital
 • C1 round investment: $22 million led by Founders Fund
 • Series D: $50 million led by Bedrock Capital
Operating Losses: The Athletic lost $121 million in just four years.

 • 2019: $54 million
 • 2020: $41 million
 • 2021: $55 million
 • 2022: $36 million
In January 2022, The New York Times paid $550 million for The Athletic.

To my memory, 'The Athletic' began as a noble idea to pay a living wage to dedicated reporters covering the teams they truly loved. For a number of reasons, this business model doesn't work. There have been some interesting, in-depth articles I've come across over the years that have frustrated me when I hit the paywall, but I've still never crossed that threshold where I'm willing to pull out my credit card and subscribe, even for the paltry introductory offers. Nowadays, I associate the brand with "scandal" reporting, and this always shares a common timbre. Whenever there is a racism, sexism, or similar for cause breach of contract, 'The Athletic' has all the grisly details. It's the medium of choice for whistleblowers, who know their mouthpieces are paid by the word. This doesn't have much to do with sports, but it's very appropriate content for the New York Times and its audience.

Incidentally, 91% of New York Times readers self-identify as Democrats. Obviously, they are not writing to me. I think it's important to remember that many such journalists, including sports reporters like those at 'The Athletic,' not only aren't writing for me, but would not exist without massive subsidies from those guys with the money who control the media.

Journalism in general can’t succeed without (((their))) subsidies. And let’s be honest, almost all sports writers painful to read anyway.

It’s such a cuck profession. Slobbering over other dudes athletic achievements while most of the people they write about are straight up criminals who would harm you and your family if given the chance.

Good riddance

SI purportedly using AI to generate content. And I got to thinking this would be way better than that pathetic cuck Rick Reilly. Two things about Rick and his race cuck act, first was ripping on white hunters in fav of blacks and his going out of his way one time in ripping on Oriana in the crap hole of South Africa. Some of the more tech literate here could probably start a column written by Drunk White Fan and have AI generate a caricature of Patton Oswalt's character from "Super Fans."

Rick Reilly was indeed earnestly insufferable. SI had lots of talented writers over the years, but also specialized in snark and virtue signaling from the beginning of the Permanent Cultural Communist Revolution onward. In fact, they were the primary media change agents and water carriers for the implementation of the Caste System in sports. Shows how far SI has fallen that no one cares about anything written by any of their "journalists" anymore, real or fake.

We should be at the point where we taunt them to double down for our entertainment. I'm sure everyone here has heard of the latest evil stupidity from something called Deadspin and the little boy Chiefs' fan, I got two things to add one I hope the black author doubles down and helps make people realize racial integration was a huge mistake and secondly I can only hope that the kid does not turn out to be another flabby DWF in his adult years.

i’m unfamiliar with the incident you’re referencing … would you be kind enough to expound or provide some links? thanks in advance.

Sports Illustrated has gracelessly expired. No one wanted to buy swimsuit issues with fat black trannies on the cover. Apparently the whole staff was laid off through a company-wide mass email this morning.

https://deadline.com/2024/01/sports-illustrated-staff-layoff-authenic-brands-arena-group-1235797884/

I feel like the issue was swept under the rug recently when the magazine was "caught" using not just AI-generated text, but crediting those stories to AI-generated authors (fake people with computer-generated pictures and a made-up background). Who knows where else this takes place? (CBS Sports features quite a bit of stilted writing; I'm looking right at you guys!)
