There is too much emphasis on black history being done by the liberal media today. Does not seem right, and is very disturbing.

YCDTOTV was my fave show on Nickelodeon back in the '80s--I never missed an ep! PC was unheard of in 1980 when I was five years old; the only thing "green" we did was make our own grass (lawn) planters and use green shredded cellophane to make Easter baskets! We were allowed to be kids in those days, and were not expected to be rocket scientists until we got to college.

Man you're not kidding. I'm just a couple years older than you. I remember when I could stay up late to watch "Fantasy Island" on Saturdays, or some such, and could wake up and still be a kid. These kids today are like little adults...the niece I mentioned earlier screamed at me to "get a job" (I have one, BTW). They're missing out on everything, and it would be at least a little less sad if they were devoting their youth to something real, rather than being programmed to act destructively on behalf of those who run the media.
They're coming up on rough times, and this media programming isn't going to help them through it one whit!
And you can't explain it to them...how do you counteract the screen that kids these days stare at all..day...long?

The necessity of Black history is like spraying Airwick on a pile of fresh turd. If you think about it, there is nothing "historical" about what Blacks have done physically (unless you want to talk about rioting and committing crimes). Their "history" is based completely on looks. Just being black gives them "history", which completely renders Michael King, Jr.'s plagirized dreams null and void.

I use to enjoy watching that show in early 90's. But it's full of multicultural messages now like, what did whites ever do to deserve this? Too much white-guilt in the house!Edited by: j41181

OMG...I watched "Fantasy Island" on those late Saturday nights. I was also allowed to sometimes be up late enough to catch "Charlie's Angels", although my mom thought "The Facts Of Life" was a just a little too mature for pre-pubescent yours truly and my older sis... Friday nights was "Dukes Of Hazzard" and sometimes "Dallas" (if my attention span was still there). And yes, I even watched "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Webster" too. (wink wink!)

I am happy to have been brought up at that time (late '70s-mid '80s) when these things were prevalent. Granted, social commentary was there but not dominated by pc fiat. It had its place, but wasn't overly preachy. We were allowed to be kids; sex was something we were oblivious to (unless you had the Playboy channel on cable or found your father's Playboy or Penthouse stashed under the sink cabinet in the bathroom).

TV, radio and sports were great back then and it kind of makes me sad when I realize those days are gone.

LOL you are bringing up some great memories. Like you say, there was social commentary, but nothing like today.

Even with the programs oriented towards adults, today, you'd think America was overrun with Nazi skinheads at every turn. It's almost like the adults are trying to suspend thought to catch up with their kids' brainwashing. It's poignant to remember how good we had it (and even OUR old TV shows weren't that great). You're right; those days are gone, for now at least. I don't think most small children at this time could even stomach a show that didn't have some blatant programming. It would bore them.Edited by: DWFan

So true. A lot of those shows I couldn't sit through an entire ep anymore (especially Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley), but the shows that were showing in reruns when I was a kid (I Dream Of Jeannie, Bewitched, etc.) I can watch whenever. Actually, when I was a tween (1986-88), Mama's Family was my favorite show and I don't think I ever missed an ep! I watch them on You Tube now :) To think we were a generation who grew up on sitcoms and action/adventure shows (tell me I'm not the only one who remembers We Got It Made, The Fall Guy, Automan, Simon & Simon and The Equalizer)--nowadays it's either Grey's Anatomy and Boston Legal-type shows and reality programming. Don't get me started on MTV either... The only current shows I watch are Food Network shows, Top Chef and VH1 Classic.

Mama's Family ruled!

If you get bored, check out hulu.com. I know there's some Bewitched and Fall Guy on it. You have to go through a couple of ads per episode, but nothing as intrusive as television. Oh yeah, they've got Facts of Life, if you want to catch up on it. I had a little-boy crush on Joe.

Ah yes, another Mama's Family fan! :) I remember watching it when it was on NBC in the early '80s with Carol Burnett as Eunice and Betty White as Ellen, but I liked the late '80s version better with Iola and Bubba. The ultimate '80s feel-good sitcom. My family raked me in the coals for loving it so much but I don't care--I'm still a big fan!

I liked Blair and Jo on Facts the most. To think that show was on for almost 10 years. I can still remember watching their prime-time Australian trip shows that were aired in '87 (I think). I just thought it went downhill when the store changed to Over Our Heads and then Mrs. Garrett left...but I digress.

I also used to watch The Golden Girls on Saturday nights. Unfortunately, this show has gotten such a gay stigma now that it's kind of lost its universal appeal. I was about 10 when it debuted. Back then, you could see older people in primetime and they were fun to watch. It was a really good show in its first couple of seasons.

I only saw a couple of episodes of "The Golden Girls". I read somewhere that it is absolutely adored in Germany--I think a few years ago even syndicated episodes would rank in the top ten ratings there.

I loved Dukes of Hazzard, Chips, the Fall Guy & Strike Force as a kid. Always enjoyed watching Hee-Haw with my Grandparents as well.

Some of you have hinted at the answer of my question you people have neglected to answer for forever. jimmy chitwood, are you trying to say that these marxist messages from nickelodeon fuel people to want more undesserved freedom, such as blacks feeling entitled to jobs without earning them? Also, do you believe that this underlying feeling of feeling desserving of the american dream when you have not earned it like blacks is the problem with nickelodeon?

I agree that blacks need to earn their out of poverty like every other race that has prospered in america.

I'm not questioning your logic, I just want to know how all of this connectss to nickelodeon?

nickelodeon is just one example of the bigger picture we're discussing, mate.

here we have a children's television network, with programming supposedly designed for children's entertainment and to a lesser degree their education. however, rather than fulfilling the aforementioned role, the network is filled with programs that preach politically correct, socially marxist messages to children.

it's indoctrination through propaganda, much like what has been done in socialist nations throughout history.

the ever-present messages on television that depict whites (especially white males) in extraordinarily negative ways, while representing large numbers of blacks (and to a lesser degree other minorities) in grossly ficticious numbers/percentages in positive ways, indoctrinates children into believing the false messages that their television is telling them. this is an obvious problem, wouldn't you agree?

for another example, i urge you to watch ANY crime show on television. CSI, NCIS, any of the Law & Orders, and so on. you will see that inevitably the criminal who committed whatever horrid crime the episode is based on is a white person, usually a white male.

take, for instance, the original Law & Order series which is based in New York, i believe. a research study was undertaken while i was a university student that revealed the following bizarre truth: there are more murders committed by white people in one season of Law & Order than in an entire year of real life New York.

furthermore, Law & Order is a show that prides itself on "ripping episodes right from the headlines." it bases its shows on real life crimes.

however, there have been numerous high-profile violent crimes that, while being used as material for L & O, altered one small detail of the cases... the race of the victim and perpetrator were changed. in every single example of this happening, the criminal on the show was portrayed as a white person when in reality the perpetrator was black! the same held true for the victim, with the show changing a real-life white victim into an on-show black victim! Law & Order intentionally declines to portray an accurate view of blacks and crime, while at the same they distort whites (especially males) into a never ending parade of hideous villains.

that, my friend, is not coincidence. it is indoctrination. and it supports the social marxist agenda.

please take the time to research what i've shared. you will find the truth both enlightening and infuriating.

I don't watch TV shows that much anymore, why?

What's the use when the antagonist is more than often a white guy, and he always gets it. If the antagonist were black or hispanic, some strange twist always happens that helps them avoid justice and punishment. The victims are always virtually white, blond women.

What is so politically correct about these TV shows? They seem to always like having white people DEAD.

Law & Order is filmed in NYC.

This is a show that never should have happened. It mutated into spinoffs that seem to be on every network every day of the week and every hour of the week to boot. And yes; they did more than lift episodes off the headlines. They did a trememdous job rearranging the profiles of the victims and perpetrators.

Another great contribution this show provided was portraying every skank as a poor little abuse victim of some evil male (White, naturally).

Children are THE pawns in Marxism in the overall grand scheme of things. The propaganda is directed at them so they can be the catalysts to spread it to their peers and elders. This has been going on for eons. Ever wonder why every socially-engineered concept of one's choice is always "for the children"?

I have to add my two penny worth here.

Dixie, you have nothing to fear from Nickelodeon. My son, now in college watched it since he was little. Because of me, and because of the H.S. he attended, he fully understands the differences between whites and minorities.

Let me explain, any white kid that grows up in an all white enviornment will be vulnerable to the current indoctrination methods of the media. My son went to a racially mixed H.S. and got to see for himself the realities of the races. His H.S. was named one of the most diverse schools in the country.

But did you know that despite all the media glorification of minorities. And all the liberal speeches about all the colors bleeding into one, that the kids in his H.S. ate their lunches based on race. The cafeteria in any given lunch period has its white table, black table and a separate table for Indians, Asians and Hispanics. It's one of the dirty little secrets the Administration doesn't want getting around.

The sports teams are also broken down based primarily on color and cultural lines. Indians play tennis, whites play golf, some football and baseball, blacks play football, basketball and track. There is some overlap in the major sports, but not much.

One day spent in that H.S. will overpower 10,000 hours of Marxist television lies. So, make sure your kids don't go to lily white schools. They need to see and live the real world or they will beleive what they see on TV. Also, don't let them go to a school with a black dominated student population. A diverse school with plenty of Asians and Indians will not have violence. Replace those Asians and Indians with blacks and there will be.

But the most important factor in your childrens lives will be you, Dixie Destroyer. You must give them their white pride. You must be the one to tell them the truth about the violent nature of blacks. Youtube was great when I wanted to show my kids how young black men treat old defenseless women. Just don't try and start them too early. Kids don't pay attention to adult situations until they are teenagers. Also, minorities don't start acting like minorities until they are teenagers. I'm speaking generally of course. I'm not talking about the crack selling 10 year old in the hood. But telling your 9 year old daughter that the black kid down the street is no good and needs to be avoided will only confuse her.

When my son was 13 and started listening to rap music I told him, 'You can listen to the music as long as you continue to act your color.' He knew exactly what I meant and he was a preppy dresser with a crew cut throughout H.S. He wears more t-shirts and jeans in college but still has the crew cut. He also speaks properly and keeps his grades up.

My son, being the oldest child, has been instrumental in helping my daughters gain an awareness of their white pride. He would tell them what clothing stores were to be avoided and which ones had classier clothes. But they too learned about the races by living the experience, not watching it on tv. They do not feel guilty about not wanting anything to do with blacks and know all about the race card that blacks will play to try and get a date.

I have had tremendous success in helping my children to believe in themselves and be proud of their color and culture. I spend time with my kids and I no longer worry about things like MTV or Nickelodeon. I have never had any restrictions on what the kids could watch on TV. Its just TV and affects kids a lot less than we think. We as parents are far stronger than TV as long as we are doing our jobs. Which is why the state is so afraid of us and why they try to separate us from our children.

The school part will wake anybody up. In 2nd grade i was switched out of catholic school to a "magnet" school that was 95 percent black while my brother stayed in Catholic school because of money issues. I was outgoing and very talkative and had plenty of friends in Catholic school but became quiet and reserved after going to an all black school. You realize how different you are culturally wise, alot of people try to say class (maybe it is because inner city blacks in New Orleans seem to be the worse), but we were also poor and my dad worked 2 jobs and my mom worked 3 jobs to feed us and to keep my brother in Catholic school. They thought the magnet school would save money and benefit because me because it is supposed to be for "smarter" children. I was a C studen in Catholic school and in the magnet school I was the smartest kid in my class and always in the top 2 for the grade i was in. My parents tried to teach me that we were all the same but as a kid i didnt buy it. At the time i didnt realize I didn't buy it and that I was different but in a school where there were only a few White kids, I wound up being friends with them. (why would a second grader who is told everybody is the same in a school majority black gravitate towards having White kids as friends when very few existed at that school?) Even my best friend who is a very Christian man went to public school and thinks there is a differnece between the races too. He doesn't preach hate, but he pretty much thinks they are not on our level (which is what i believe in, not hate, but just not on our level, there have been a few ones that are and i am not going to get into it for the ones that aren't), espescially in the south, he said when he lived in Las Vegas they were better (So i guess when they are in small numbers they are not as badly behaved). Luckily we moved further out of New Orleans around junior high (thats when crap really becomes different between cultures and really really bad) and the White to Black ratio wasn't at bad in the suburban public schools, still around 60/40. My brother is a rastafarian wigger who thinks black people are the guys to be, to this day (and hes reaching 30 living at my parents house with an illigitimate child) and i am back in college about to be married in a few months planning on having a family. Putting your kid in that environment seems to work, but i wouldn't wish that on any kid so please don't do it to yours, it will make them feel alientated and probably change their personality. Maybe in the 2nd or 3rd grade but the older they get and when blacks start to reach puberty is when it goes insane (I will not go into much detail)
and yes this is sometimes at 9 or 10 where they start smoking weed and imitating what they see from older blacks "hollering at bitches" So it seems alot of them start acting bad around 9 or 10. It is very rare to see a 9 year old black kid in the city that acts like a kid. I saw it maybe a year ago when i spent the night at my friends house, a kid playing on a bicycle playing pretend. It was the first time in a long time that i have seen a black kid act like that. Down the street there were tons of kids his age playing basketball acting like the adult ones, and they said something about how that kid was retarded, which he didnt seem retarded, he just seemed like a normal kid. It is a little different in the suburbs, they grow up a little slower.

edit: I didn't see the part where he said don't let them go to black majority schools because they are violent.

There is a funny incident that happened though, in one of the many attempts to show that Whites and blacks are all the same, our black teacher did an expirement. She claimed that nobody can control what they are born as so we should all get along. So she gave out cards randomly on who was the "evil White ruling class" and who was the poor hapless blacks, and of course there were less ruling class cards than poor black. We were suppose to live at school as whatever we received for 2 weeks. Of course I magically got the poor black card (I was involved in a fight the previous week when one of the many attempts of the teacher telling us about evil slavery and how bad the White man was failed, a black kid told me he was going to kill me for what my ancestors did to his. We had to be broken up and the teacher told us to shake hands and the teacher said "He cant control the fact that his ancestors were slave owners a long time ago, its a different time now" [my ancestors have never owned slaves, they came here from Ireland and France after the civil war]) I never participated in the expiriment or took it seriously, but the blacks did. They wound up in massive fights against EACH OTHER. The blacks that got the White cards were trying to oppress the blacks that got the poor cards, trying to take their lunch stamps (like food stamps for school lunch) and any candy they had and it wound up to these huge fights, the teacher had to stop it and explain to the principle that she had done this experiment when she lived in the North multiple times and it has never came to anything like this. I am not sure exactly how the expiriment was supposed to work, but it is one of the many dumb things we had to do.

and yes television can influence kids opinions greatly. I used to watch Saved by the bell and when I was around 5 or 6 when the episode about racial awareness came up and Jesse apologized to Lisa about her ancestors owning slaves, i assumed since i was White, my ancestors were "evil slave owners" too. Luckily I rambled alot as a kid to my grandparents and mentioned it I was laughed at by my Grandpa and found out my ancestors came over here in the late 1800's early 1900's and if slavery was still legal they would've been too poor to own one anyway. He was a good man, he refused to leave the city of New Orleans despite the crime epidemic. He was raised there and didn't leave ever, it wound up killing him during Katrina because he didn't leave though. I think Whites being intimidated by blacks is part of the problem. Suburban sprawl, getting us to move further and further from where we were originally from because of crime. If we are truly the same, why do so many Whites leave the city to go to the suburbs? My parents did, now the suburb they live in is becoming the same, and they are thinking of moving even further away. I am moving to an entirely different city in Louisiana for college, but its still considered a city, not a suburb. I think it is something about the South though, because ive met a few normal black people from other places, mainly military babies. Also, my fiance is from Colorado, and didn't know what the hell i was talking about when i said there was a difference and said White pride sounds racist and thought i sounded racist even though I had never said anything hateful towards any other race, they are just different and its not something I want our kids exposed to. I dont want to hurt any other race or rule them or anything crazy like that, i just want to be around people that are similiar to me, I dont see anything wrong with that. After living here and going to community college with me in the city she definelty acknowledges there is a difference but then cites all of these vague terms like class and socioeconomic factors of why they are the way they are and the good quote "theres tons of bad White people too" Yeah there are, but it doesn't seem to be at the same ratio.Edited by: dwid

There are of course tons of bad whites, but in terms of ratio and proportion, there are many more tons of bad blacks and hispanics. But don't tell that to Youbama.

Thanks GWTJ! I don't see Viacom's propaganda channels as a (direct) threat to me/my kids (as they rarely watch it), but recognize their agenda & target (White kids). Three of my 4 kids are too young to cover race issues (in depth) with. However, I've spoken to my oldest son (7) about how certain music (especially rap) is garbage. I've also told him about the open borders policy of the Neocons that have yielded so many illegal invaders (as he's made comments about a few anchor babies in his school). The older the get, the more I'll ensure they're aware of the cultural Marxist agenda, propaganda & goals.Edited by: DixieDestroyer

Yeah just listen to what GWTJ said. My friends and I growing up had about a 10% black population in our public school district. This led towards some white kids in our high school acting and dressing like you know what, rhymes with liggers. But anyways we had parents who put into our heads that you dress a certain way (i.e. shop at respectable stores), listen to "quality" music (not gangster rap), and act like a responsible person. Even though we all watched MTV, Nickelodeon, and so on growing up we never turned out to be "wiggers" or "tree huggers". We're all responsible young adults looking to be successful in life. I can definitely see where you're coming from Dixie, and I'm sure I'll have the same worries in a decade. Don't worry its only TV and ultimately crappy parents will raise crappy kids and good parents will raise good kids.

agreed whiteconerback. Sometimes though parents tell their kids to be respectible and the kids do the opposite to be rebellious. Its a crapshoot and subconscious messages from places like nickelodeon dont help. Im just not sure how bad nick is, i dont watch it anymore though so maybe it is bad.

i've spend 6 years as a father so far and if i have learned one thing it is to not trust nickelodeon and the rest of the corporate fat cats trying to cpaitalize on a growing craze of black rights and freedoms. all i have heard recently is obama this and obama that for the network itself. i have never been more disappointed as a father then today when my son asked me today to get him an obama t-shirt though he knew i was a staunch supporter of mccain through out the entire election process. I say god damn nick and god damn those who support this tyranny in the modern media.may the lord be with you all -TB

The Disney Channel and The Family Channel are equally as bad IMO.
