I saw that article as well FootballDad. I thought it was a great gesture from Manning. I think if Peyton was the Peyton of old he would of went to the coaching staff to tell them to elevate Taylor from the practice squad during the season. Peyton seems to have always looked out for his own to an extent.

For Taylor hopefully this publicity is a positive thing and it only helped his development as a player by practicing with Peyton.

As for the SuperBowl - Thomas Davis broke his arm in the championship game and he will play on Sunday - I hope the Broncos attack him early and often.

I agree with you about Davis, AJ Kline could see a lot of playing time if Davis' arm flares up. I'm still pulling for Denver to win it. The media coverage will be unbearable if Cam wins!

I am rooting for Carolina. No way do I want Denver. Denver with Welker and Decker ok that is a different story but Denver has a good DT , a decent but aging TE and Manning who is now a statue out there and just about done as a player although capable of pulling this one out.
Carolina has Hall of Famer Jared Allen--doesn't anyone want to see him finally win a Super Bowl even in a reduced role? Colin Jones is a speedy DB who started some this year and may see action beyond special teams. I think he should be starting. Everytime I see him he plays great.Greg Olsen can really run and is considered the best TE in the NFL. Their white WR gets little playing time but you never know.
I would rather a black QB throwing to white guys rather than vice versa. Oh and last but not least in my humble opinion Luke Kuechly is the BEST player in the entire NFL. Yep I would take him over Watt who is terrific but Luke has it all. Great athlete, super smart and rugged as hell. He will be all over the field and why root against the best player in the NFL? Should be a good game.

The ideal situation would be sCam getting hurt on the first series, his back up take over and CAR win.

I would like to see Manning get another ring. He has paid a lot of dues, and will pay more as he ages after retirement.

On the other hand, I would rather not see Elway's personnel policies vindicated.

But then again, Owen Daniels could use a ring too.

However, Carolina is maybe somewhat more favorable to our guys overall roster wise.

Yet, still, as we all know, they will hype Newton (a good QB and getting better) to the moon if they win big.

Peyton's in for a tough time (sung to the tune of Nationwide is on your side).

The local news tonight was already calling sCam the new face of the NFL (puke).

I haven't decided if I'm going to watch this game, yet. Good luck, Peyton!

Well hey guys, it's the Super Bowl. I'm gonna watch at a friends house with some other people.

Colin Jones sees the field some for the Panthers. I'd forgotten about him.

Don't bother to look at any sports news today unless you want to read about league MVP sCam Newton. One BSPN article laments that we will not be able to see potentially the "greatest QB rivalry of all time" since Manning will most likely be retiring. Brady is apparently already forgotten, all hail King Supaman Newton.

Well that's good because the truth will eventually be clear for all to see that Newton is pretty mediocre and the reason for Carolina's success is the defense and run game. The hype job of Newton will eventually be exposed. Hopefully it will be tonight.

Is there a thread for the Super Bowl? I looked around and couldn't find one. So sorry if this is a duplicate.

Not very excited about this one. Other then Peyton Manning solidifying his already impressive legacy and the couple players on Carolina's defense i think Greg Olsen will be the biggest positive. Unfortunately any success by Carolina will just push the stratospheric hype for Cam Newton even higher. To me a complete melt down by Scam is really the best scenario.

The 2week run up to the game seems to have turned into a massive discussion on black QB's with the talk centered around us racist fans being haters of Cam Newton. Guilty as charged but after two straight Super Bowls of Seattles Wilson you would think the black QB issue was played out. Maybe Wilson is not black enough. Cam Newton is much darker so if he wins it will be the first win for a really dark skinned black QB.

Is that you jaxvid? Wasn't there a 60s movie called In Like Jaxvid?

This could be one of the Super Bowls I've been the least interested in watching in decades. I just hope Manning plays good/great and doesn't tarnish his legacy as one of the greatest of all time AND that sCam plays abysmal/poor/average and even throws some ill-advised passes and costs the Panthers the win. I don't watch espn/don't have cable and wouldn't have been able to handle the hype these past 2 weeks. There's no way I'll be able to stomach a sCam victory. All the credit is going to be thrown to him and all according to plan if the League and hype machine media get their way.

Ofer is supposed to be some sort of feel good story, something to do with some movie or whatever.

No quantity but some quality this year. Kueachly, Olsen, Wolfe, all in position to make a mark on the game.

Maybe some others to be a Larry Brown this time.

One of the guys at the party talks a lot and it's all PC left wing DWF crap. But his wife makes a killer chili.

It's an interesting game to me.

Ha ha Extra Point. I actually googled "In Like Jaxvid" and the moment I did I got the joke.

Yeah Agent Flint was a hero of my youth. And I'm a dead ringer for James Coburn. Avatar picture is like looking in the mirror (20 years ago in an alternate reality).

Truth is Don banned me for being too critical of his hero Carson Palmer so I had to sneak back in under a new name. But you guys figured me out ;)

Wow, some white woman is singing the national anthem. How did that happen? That spot is normally reserved for negresses who almost always butcher it as far as I can remember.

That was Lady Gaga. I'm not a fan of her music, but she is competent and did a nice job with the anthem.

Nice opening drive by Denver.

And Phil Simms called Owen Daniels fast.
