https://www.outkick.com/its-hard-to...t-of-patience-with-1st-rounder-isaiah-wilson/

Tennessee State is a black college so I doubt they were white, but yes, this guy is an idiot.

EDIT: I saw one of the pictures and there appears to be at least one mudshark on the yacht. It's hard to tell from the other pics.

It also appears the incident at Tennessee State and the thing on the yacht were two seperate incidents.

430 lbs at age 18 or 19 - isn't healthy at all. They compare him to Terrence Cody like it's a good thing. Cody was an NFL bust - I still remember all the hype around him in college. He was just a big body in the NFL with no playmaking ability.

Florida freshman DL Desmond Watson reported to spring camp weighing 432 pounds.

Watson (6'5/432) is an absolute mountain of a human being who was listed at 385 pounds before showing up 47 pounds over that already hefty mark. The Seffner, FL native is rated as a three-star prospect and 23rd best defensive tackle from the 2021 recruiting cycle. He has prototype size for a run-stuffing nose tackle capable of taking on double-teams and holding the point of attack. It will be interesting to see how the neophyte interior lineman develops once he is immersed in a SEC level training program, as Watson is already drawing comparison's to longtime NFL DT Terrence Cody.

Does the term "Sumo" apply to both sides of the line? I think of it as a term for OL. Either way, being that obese is never healthy, and trying to make a football career out of being just very fat never works out. You need athleticism, strength, technique, footwork, etc. Pure fatties just get worn out quickly and outplayed.

Meanwhile, since we were talking about Isaiah Wilson earlier, found this gem of an old Titans DWF tweet on Twitter (right after the draft).
"Isaiah Wilson is a mauler and will be better than Conklin ever could be."

Talk about old takes exposed. Mauler? Better at what? Better at having extra fat and no desire to play? Meanwhile Conklin was a First Team All-Pro with the Browns.

One big problem is, this sumo trend starts before college. Look at how all the top schools recruit, and who the 4/5 star recruits usually are by the so-called "experts." Also "stacking"- many good White HS T are moved to G, and also G to C (both in college and NFL). Thus drying up the well at tackle and now guard, too.

I remember Cody and he played at 400 pounds or so in college but wasn't agile enough in the NFL in the high 300's and rotted on the bench, except for short yardage run stuffing downs and special teams wall type plays.

This guy is even larger, he easily could drop a full bill and would be enormous. I shudder to think what his grocery bill would be for a week. I can't see him being anything but a long shot prospect for the NFL unless he learns to eat properly.

Patriots O-lines have been getting darker and darker. Used to be almost always a snowplow until about 5 years ago. Assuming Thuney goes elsewhere, they could easily have a 4/5 sumo O line, possibly all 5 if Andrews walks and is replaced by a sumo. Belichick and Scarnecchia did a great job producing quality linemen. But now it's gone downhill. Defense and skill players used to be better too. Burkhead and John Simon are impending FA. Edelman may be cut/traded or retire. The days of the Pats being a top team here look to be completely in the past, though some may still like them because "nostalgia." Is Belichick showing his true colors, or is he starting to go senile?

Hopefully it's Bridgewater or another black quarterback who will get pummeled behind this OL. Erving may be a borderline bust. He has only started a little over half of his games in the NFL. He was a 2015 1st round pick 19th overall. Another example of just how bad that 2015 draft was.

Panthers signed OT Cameron Erving, formerly of the Cowboys, to a two-year, $10 million contract.

The deal includes $6 million guaranteed. The Panthers are making early, tactical signings as they try to shore up their offensive line. 28-year-old Erving had a rough 2020 for the Cowboys' injury-ruined offense line, making just six appearances as he turned in typically shaky play. Even at his best, Erving has never been better than league average, so it is an eye-brow raising opening day signing. Capable of playing both guard and tackle, Erving is an insurance policy for a team that currently has only one starting tackle under contract.

Here's an interesting post I found over on Finheaven regarding the Dolphins's offensive lines. This appears to have been written by a non-DWF. Perhaps he is a poster here on Caste Football. While he doesn't make any mention of race nor does he use the term "sumo" it's pretty obvious who he's referring to.

Houston Blaxans already claimed him.
Redskins, meanwhile, if Cosmi gets a starting T spot, could be 4/5. Roullier and Scherff are entrenched studs at C and RG, and Schweitzer should stay at LG (though this is far from guaranteed).

Another Class of 2015 bust. He was the 21st overall pick of that awful draft. Only 30 starts in his 7 year career with 3 teams.

Seahawks released OT Cedric Ogbuehi.

Ogbuehi opened the year on injured reserve with a biceps injury and only appeared in one game after being activated. He started at right tackle in Week 4 but was a healthy scratch by Week 6. Ogbuehi has experience at left and right tackle plus 30 career starts. However, only five of those starts have come in the past four years. His days as a starting option should be at an end but he will likely sign as a depth option somewhere else in the coming weeks.

while he’s not an NFL player (he was a #1 pick in the NBA), ZionWilliamson certainly appears to belong in this thread ... after injuring his foot, he has ballooned up to over 300lbs.

I'll agree he is an impressive athlete for his size. But he's fat, already broke his foot once and has ballooned up again. I'm no athletic trainer/Dr.. Common sense he's going to be plagued by nagging injuries until he gets his weight under control(250-260). Or we might have an Eddie Lacy on our hands and eat himself out of the League.

That short jog across the court may have exhausted this finely tuned specimen.
