I just wanted to bring up some guys that I did not see much on last season if at all.

Indiana junior rb , Charlie Spegal was mentioned here but not mentioned was he got some decent amount of carries the last 2 games which was NOT in garbage time. He is not even on the 4 deep on Ourlads right now but I expect to see him again, I hope.

Oklahoma State has a speedy junior rb in Zach Middleton. He is on the 3 deep as of Spring ball but is neck and neck as the main kick returner for Oklahoma state. Zach got some carries last year but I believe it was in the single digits.

UMASS has a sophomore wr/rb in Carter Scudo. He was in the 2 deep at rb at the end of last season and had a very nice last game against Eastern Michigan I believe. He is listed at wr at the moment but I expect him and senior rb Jarred Chisari to get a lot of carries this year for a pretty bad team.

I will add to this as I have to look a few things up but some minor good news is Abilene Christian corner transfer Ryan Staap has the 1st team nod at the end of Minnesotas Golden Gofer roster. Apparently he was sought after by a number of D 1 teams. Always good to have another white corner though my best count is around 12 getting playing time this year. I hop about 5 to 7 more emerge.

One more guy off the top off my head. Kansas State has a soph. rb in Jordan Schipper who is a transfer from Western Illinois. He got some bowl game carries last year and was on the two deep at the end of the year but now Ourlads does not even have him on the 4 deep as of spring ball.

Schipper btw is not related to Wisconsin's Brady Schipper ( s ) as I find it weird that with so few white running backs at the D 1 level there are 2 that have the same last rare name but are not related. I would like to start a 2022 white rb thread soon as my usual preseason count is about 30 t0 35 of our guys getting carries but by my best count with SMU rb TJ McDaniel now healthy Iv'e got the count slightly above 50. Time will tell.

Thanks LF. A little more on UMASS Scudo. I read some article a few months ago his coach loves him at rb but they are so crappy at wr they move him around. He was praised though for having such a rounded skill-set they could use him anywhere. I watched his COVID shortened 5 game senior highlights and the kid is the real deal as he has some nice power for a 200 pounder and he can just about cut on a dime in BOTH directions where I notice a lot of ALL running backs tend to cut to their strong side much more frequently as C-mac is prone to do.

I try to be fair when evaluating our guys so I am not trolling here but 2 guys in the class I really think are going to have nice careers are Illinois rn Aidan Laughery and NC States Bennett Galloway. The one guy I am kind of skeptical is Wake Forest's Tate Carney. I hope he proves me wrong. Galloway is really elusive and Laughery has just really good athleticism and vision.

Some of these guys are not running backs but I need to get them in before I forget about them.

Marshall has a soph. rb in Ethan Payne. He is on the small side but I noticed he got some carries in the middle of last season. I don't know a lot about the Marshall team in general so its tough to see if he is better than a bunch of scrubs or what not.

Utah has a red shirt fresh. corner in Nick Howe. I don't know if he is a scholarship player but he looked really good on HUDL highlights. The problem with Utah is they have 7 or 8 black corners that I know are on scholly and they are all freshmen and sophomores.

SMU has 2 corners in Luke Mabe and Cross Kittrell. Mabe is on the practice squad as a soph. but he lookes really good in high school tapes. Kittrell is a RS Freshman but the weird thing is he is from Mississippi and he apparently was offered scholarships to Tulane and Ole Miss. as a rb. Hes 6 foot 180 lbs and he looks to be uber athletic though I can not find of him being on scholarship or how he made it SMU. I hope at least one of them pans out.

Not sure what happened to UMASS transfer rb Jarred whats his name is to Virginia Tech but hes no longer on the team. V. Tech as white rb rue frosh Bryce Duke coming in and I know hes good but he is going to get buried on that depth chart for 4 to 5 years. Get out now kid and go to Duke where you initially were signed in for.

I don't think hes been mentioned but Kent State has true frosh rb Gavin Garcia coming in on scholarship. I don't know a lot about him but he is the brother of Gaige Garcia who was a rb for Michigan 2 years ago though he was there on a wrestling schollarship and is now penciled in as the starting rb for Lehigh. There are 2 other younger Garcia brothers in high school getting some nice D 1 attention though its early.

One last good piece of news. Stanford's Casey Filikins is second on the depth chart at RB. If I recall he was buried to 5th or 6th on last years edition and the guys in front of him were not seniors.

There is another young white rb I had high hopes for. Colorado State's Tanner Hollens. He was a big back with nice agility and better than average speed. In 2019 he was named Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year. He was third string at the start of last fall but fell off the radar. He is now listed as a linebacker. The kid ran for over 5,000 yards in high school. It is amazing through the years are guys are named best player in the state and they still fly under the radar.
I think if I remember Jordy Nelson was a Kansas Gatorade All A. and he had to walk on at Kansas as a QB. Despite also owning the state record holding time in the 100 meters at 10.65. He went nuts his soph and jun. years as a wr and ONLY THEN was he given a scholarship for his senior year. Someone correct me if I got my facts wrong. Lurkers beware. One more solid example of the caste system at work.

Thanks. I will add a quick 3 more. Wesley Kommer got a bunch of carries in the middle of the season for Nevada. I know nothing about him other than he is smallish. He is a true junior so maybe he gets a greater load. I try and follow everybody but where I live is mostly ACC country. Its hard to follow Virginia as I can only recalling them having a skill position in Staton Jobe about 15 years ago. He was a 10,3 100 meter runner and he still had to walk on at wr.
I had given up on UNLV's Chad Maygar but he is back for his senior season and is 2nd on the 3 deep right now,
UCLA has a guy that got some carries last year but I don't see anything pan out behind Charbonnet. Good transfer from Michigan.

The UCLA rb is soph. Brian Kowall. He got 5 carries for 24 yds. against Hawaii. Little known fact. He is the cousin of Patrick Laird. Nice.

Thanks guys. I will get to some other running backs but I follow any white dude at the skill positions. Not so much qbs but maybe the all purpose qbs. John R. Plumlee got screwed. Ole Miss dosent come on my channels so much so I have never seen him live. If he dosen't pan out as a qb he would be an above average NFL rb. I kind of felt the same way about Eric Crouch. He would have made a very good NFl rb if given the chance. I think Crouch was tried out at safety and clearly it did not work out. Might be Scott Frost not sure.
There were 3 wr's I have followed over the years that are still on teams where just by their high school videos thought these guys would be all first round draft picks. The one I think still has a chance is Iowa's Charlie Watters. Hell Buffalo recruited him and Buffalo NEVER recruits whites outside of frosh big-back coming in , J. Paradis. Watters is finally first string as of now and is also the leading man to return kickoffs and punts. If he can be explosive in the passing game consistently he could go as high as fifth maybe in the 2023 draft.
The second guy I had huge hopes for was Austin Osborne who never caught on at Washington U. . He is now starting for Bowling Green and his probable best chance at an NFL career is free agency.
Oliver Martin for Nebraska is on his third Big 10 school He has all the tools other than the lack of pigment but he was really impressive in high school and got recruited by Michigan. Michigan don't recruit white dudes unless you are uber athletic like McGuffie or Cole Cabanna. I could talk wr's all day so Ill focus on the rbs until I run out of them.

As a lurker some poster here last year commented on Minnesota Gopher and Linebacker, Derek Lecaptain. I forget the game but there was an emergency at rb for whatever reason Lecaptain came in and had 3 crucial rushes for 31 yards and a td and I believe the td was a spin move near the goal line that made the defender whiff. Well no Caste crap here ( sarcasm ) he is now back to his racially appointed LB position and is 4th string right now. Just blows the friggin mind. Playing rb has little to do with playing lb but you think this kid obviously has the athletic skills to make the switch and excel. Zander Horvath originally was recruited by Purdue as a linebacker and we know the rest. FYI I pick Horvath to go to New Orleans in the 6th and he will initially be in the Juczyk mode but when the trust comes in he will be the goal line rb and get some second string carries in 2023. Just putting it here if I get lucky. If I'm wrong no one will remember.

One more guy I am high on is Zane Minors for SMU. He is sitting behind the smurf black incumbent and underated whitey Tyler Lavine but as much as I like TJ McDaniel I dont think after that leg injury he is going to get in a game much. Nice to still see a team with 3 white rbs on scholarship.

Great thread. You got to me before I thought I would be the first to mentionBrian Kowall, Patrick Laird’s cousin. He is a walk on at UCLA but if I remember right he had a Cal offer.

On the subject of cal, they have a scholarship freshman RB in Ashton Hayes out of Reno NV.

speaking of pac 12, WSU has two walk on RBs in Kannon Katzer and Dylan Paine who are BOTH expected to get carries this year. Exciting. There was a time two off seasons ago when WSU has an all white preseason depth chart at RB with Max Borghi, powerback Clay Markoff and speedster Cole Dubots. Borghi did as we all know, Markoff saw few carries and transferred to Arizona where he played fullback. Dubots, who was once one of the fastest underclassmen sprinters in California, medically retired after doing absolutely nothing statistically at WSU. What a waste.

good news is Chad Magyar is a clear starter in UNLV’s spring depth chart releases this year. UNLV is a super dark team, I recall counting only 18 or 19 whites on the roster last year. Like tucker gregg at Georgia State, the RB might be the only white starting. Although I think back up Harrison Bailey will win the QB job. still how bizarre

Great to see another running back enthusiast....It’s what got me to this site years ago....
(Rocky Bleier was my original handle) I was reading about Filkins awhile back and was pleased to see him second (behind Emmitt Jr) on the depth chart...The other two backs transferred or it would’ve been a log jam.....Start a thread anytime, the sooner the better.....I’ve got years worth of notes and prospects I’ll be sorting through to help with the cause.....

Great post Heralded D. Also Rocky. Iv'e been lurking around 15 years here. I was going to thank Rocky, Leonard Fan, 22, White Lightning, Carolina Speed and others for taking the time and doing the research. Before the internet one of my favorite times of the year was early June when Athlon college football would come out and I would scour the 2 deeps for new white guys to cheer for. I was more into corners back in the early 90's and I could easily count 55 to 70 on two deeps. 5 teams in that era started 2 corners in Wisconsin, Georgia ( yes Georgia ), Alabama ( not joking ), BYU and Air Force.
I knew about Kannon Katzer but I never get to jazzed when someone is named spring game MVP because when it is a white rb the black scholarship players are usually held out of games to prevent injury. Cole Dubots was a great athlete. I never understand why white guys with tremendous speed never get to try for corner but are moved to LB or safety. Look at Jarred Kanak going to Oklahoma. Legit 10.3 speed and hes playing LB. Makes no sense to be other then just stupid caste system bias.
If you remember high school rb Sutton Smith that went to Northern Illinois and became an All-American DE ? The guy was an insane high school rb with 10.7 speed. I really thought and still think he is better than Will Shipley ( sorry guys an d I have some misgivings about Shipley ) but I dont know if anyone ever spotted this but Smith actually finished this year on the Raiders active squad as a fullback. I was hoping he could drop some weight and move to rb. Hell Georgia Techs Nathan Cotrell was moved to WR his senior year and still somehow found his way as a rb on an NFL team and he only caught ONE pass that year in a non-injury. It breaks the heart when we all know what is going on . I still think to this day black college coaches are actually a little more fair when recruiting white athletes except for that Karl Dorell from UCLA when 20 years ago and saw Eric Weddles tapes and called him up and offered him a scholarship without even meeting him and some of us know back in high school Weddle always wore the sleeves and dark face mask on his helmet. This really is a true story. When he met Weddle in person and realized he was white he immediately pulled the scholarship. Friggin liberal media never wants to see the double standard in so many things in this world just cuz sh*t when down differently 70 years ago. Remember, only whites can be racist. I haven't worn it yet but I have a tee-shirt that said " Travon Martin never called me cracker. " :) Hell NYC mayor Eric Adams gets a free pass when a video surfaces a few months and referred to his old fellow white police officers crackers numerous times. I'm going to move to Canada but Only if that Joe Biden becomes president. :)
