"DETROIT (AP) -- Officials say Michigan needs to do a better job of getting children from low-income families to schools and other sites where they can get free meals during the summer."
This is what you get in a socialistic welfare state where the care and feeding of black people must be performed by the white middle class taxpayer. Here is it all in a nutshell, black parents cannot be trusted to properly feed their kids so the government has to do it. Nevermind that the parents receive so much aid in food stamps that they (and usually their kids) are obese, it is still, again, not enough.
The parents don't make the "right" food choices, so that means that Uncle Sam has to step in and provide the correct healthy food that the food stamps do not.
And remeber this is NOT about feeding kids or making kids healthier, we know that won't happen, it is all about another reason to empower government, in this case schools, to provide even MORE services. This during summer vacation when school is supposed to be CLOSED. Oh, and the Michigan school systems, like nearly everywhere else are about a billion dollars in the hole with no expectation of being able to ever run a balanced budget.
Yet here is the state sponsered media (Det. News) pimping for even more programs the system cannot sustain.
