Since J.K. McKay Jr. Left Tampa?

I don't remember him as a player, but I do recall seeing J.K. as the GM of the Los Angeles Extreme (XFL) in 2001, when they won a title with Tommy Maddox at the helm. I really only know about his pro career due to an NFL Films documentary on the expansion Tampa Bucs, who lost their first 26 games. I bring him up today, the day after Jordan Shipley was released by the psychotic gap-tooted wigger, because I believe McKay might be the only white wide receiver to EVER start a full season for the Bucs?

I've got two questions for my fellow CF posters. Question One:

Is it possible McKay is the only white wide receiver to ever start for the Bucs, a team that came into existence in 1976?

Is there someone I'm forgetting about? Ten years ago Joe Jurevicius helped lead the Bucs to their only Super Bowl win ever. Had it not been for his great play in the NFC Championship game @ Philly, Tampa never makes the Super Bowl. Joe was also the Bucs top WR in that Super Bowl. Nonetheless, Caste clown deluxe Gruden never allowed Jurevicius to start more than a few games a year, as he was firmly behind the "ultimate possession receiver" Keyshawn Johnson and the rapidly aging, but "respected" veteran Keenan McCardle. He did however, go on to start in Seattle and Cleveland, based on his outstanding play in Tampa.

During the mid-1990's, the Bucs had a 3/4th receiver named Robb Thomas, who played quite a bit but never started a full season for Tony Dungy. Yes, "Robb" is the correct spelling of his name. Bill Schroeder briefly played for the Bucs in 2004, but only started 2 games. Other than that, I can't even think of any notable white WR's that even wore the Bucs uniform.

Second question:

If McKay was the last starting WR for Bucs, can any other team boast such a long drought? Perhaps the Pittsburgh Steelers?

****

Here's some background on McKay, via Wikipedia, if anyone cares:

He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 16th round of the 1975 NFL Draft, but opted instead to play for the Southern California Sun of the World Football League due to a dislike for the Cleveland area. The Browns made him available in the 1976 veteran allocation draft, where he was selected by the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Tampa Bay, McKay started at receiver for three controversial seasons. Quarterback Steve Spurrier's belief that McKay was playing ahead of better receivers because he was the son of head coach John McKay, led him to throw passes over the vulnerable middle of the field in an attempt to get McKay injured. On the other hand, he was a reliable pass-catcher whom opposing defenses considered as a legitimate threat. He was forced to retire due to complications form a broken hand.

Yes celticdb15, I noted that in the thread above:

Ten years ago Joe Jurevicius helped lead the Bucs to their only Super Bowl win ever.

According to nfl.com stats he never started more than 3 games in any single season for the Bucs. He was there for three seasons, between 2002 and 2004. I also mentioned Robb Thomas and Bill Schroeder as notable white WR's that briefly played for the Bucs, but were never full time starters.

So, question remains, is J.K. McKay Jr. -- who's best season was 1976 -- the last (and only) white wide receiver to be a full time starter for the Tampa Bucs?

I don't recall him either, but I do remember Tampa Bay had unusually Black rosters for that era. I suspect the castoff veterans were largely White but the draft choices starting with Leroy Selmon were more Black than other squads. These early Tampa teams were among the worst in the history of the NFL. Even that team that went to the 79/80 NFC title game wasn't a very good team, so Tampa was always drafting near the top of the draft. I can't recall a top pick being White aside from Testaverde and he was a bust while in Tampa. PS there was a site about the Bucs that rated their draft choices and it would make the GM and coaching staff look like two monkeys randomly moving chess pieces. Aside from Selmon, Williams and Giles(to a lesser extent) all of the other picks virtually failed....

Yes WIR, I actually watched that 1979/80 NFC title game on Youtube back in 2009, or so? I'm not sure if they still have it uploaded, but it was beyond boring. Bucs lost 9-0, as Doug Williams was totally worthless in that game. He eventually left with an injury, but even his backup was better than he was. I also noticed those Bucs teams were very dark for that era. They might've only had 3 or 4 white starters, which was very rare prior the 1990's.

In contrast, the Rams seemed to have about 11 or 12 white starters. Most of their front 7 on defense was white, as well as the starting safety tandem (Cromwell and Elmendorf). On offense, typical modern day caste -- white QB, white linemen...black runners and receivers.

WIR, just looked it up, the Bucs have only drafted 5 whites (including Vinny T.) in round one since they came into the league in 1976. That really is a very low number and they were all "caste positions" for whites (qb and OL).

Other than Vinny T., the short list includes Paul Gruber ('88), who turned into a star LT on some bad teams for over a decade...Fellow OT Charles McCrae ('91) was a bust, best I can remember....Trent Dilfer was also a 1st round pick, although he was quickly sent packing in order to make room for the "original Russell Wilson", Shaun King....A OG from Penn State, Sean Farrell, was drafted in round one back in '82. I don't know a lot about him, but he played in the NFL a long time, so he must've been decent?

Actually, just looked it up, Youtube still has that Jan. 1980 title game up, cut into 10 minute segments:

Yes, I remember J.K. McKay as a player. When he played at USC, Pat Haden was his QB. Haden even lived with the McKays for a time in order to be in the same school district.

When USC played in the Rose Bowl, NBC announcer Curt Gowdy would say "He's like Biletnikoff." In other words, a slow white WR with good hands.

There always was someone complaining that J.K. got to play only because he was the coach's son. This happened at USC as well as Spurrier charging that John McKay Sr. would bench him if he didn't throw passes to his son, JK McKay Jr.

I don't know how true this is being from wikipedia and all but I don't doubt it. Look at what a douche bag Spurrier has turned out to be as a coach. What kind of a low life a-hole tries to intentionally get a teammate injured? This is a typical example of the lack of racial solidarity of White people, especially White QB's from what I've seen. Can you imagine a black QB, trying to get a "brother" injured, especially one that was the son of a black head coach??? Not even imaginable.

I must state I disagree with this thread being moved, because it also includes a broader question, beyond the Bucs:

This isn't just about one team, it's about how so many teams have phased out white wide receivers since the mid 1970's. The Bucs were the team I used as a primary example.

This is one of the reasons Caste Football is getting so many less posts/replies. Instead of having some potentially "hot topics" up on the main board for a few days, it's relegated to one of the 50 (or so) sub-forums were it will get a lot less attention and eventually be completely ignored.

I do think there is some middle-ground here. This is this type of post that could be on the main board for a few days, when the replies stop coming, then it could be moved.

I think a lot of people just hit "new posts" when visiting the site so any new stuff is displayed, it doesn't really matter where you post it.

Interesting question though. So I'll start it. Who were the last White players to get a decent amount of starts (say over half of the games) in one season per team. I'll do this off the top of my head. I'm sure other guys will be better then me but here goes:

Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons -
Baltimore Ravens
Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers
Chicago Bears
Cincinnati Bengals --Jordan Shipley
Cleveland Browns
Dallas Cowboys --Golden Richards??
Denver Broncos -- Eric Decker
Detroit Lions --Bill Schroeder
Green Bay Packers -- Jordy Nelson (Bill Schroeder)
Houston Texans -- Kevin Walters
Indianapolis Colts --Austin Collie? no- Brandon Stokely
Jacksonville Jaguars --Matt Jones
Kansas City Chiefs --Jereme Urban
Miami Dolphins --Brian Hartline
Minnesota Vikings --
New England Patriots -- Wes Welker
New Orleans Saints
New York Giants
New York Jets
Oakland Raiders --Fred Biletnikoff??
Philadelphia Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers
Saint Louis Rams -- Danny Amendola, before that Jack Snow??
San Diego Chargers --
San Francisco 49ers --
Seattle Seahawks
Tampa Bay Buccaneers --Joe Jurevicius
Tennessee Titans
Washington Redskins

Harder then I thought!

Yes, “Pro-Football Reference.com” suggests that Jurevicius started 8 total games in his three seasons (2002-2004) with the Bucs. From what I remember, the Aryan-Wigger, “Chucky,” and offensive coordinator, Bill Muir, “restricted” Joe’s playing time in favor of Keenan McCardell, Keyshawn Johnson, and Michael Clayton. To their credit, though, the team had the vastly-misused RB Mike Alstott and TE’s Ken Dilger, Todd Yoder, and Will Heller. As for the 2002 NFC Championship Game against Fat Bastard’s black-tar Filth-a-delphia defense (a unit I truly loathed), Joe made two unbelievable catches in that contest. The following video has some silly graphics and sounds effects, but it shows both catches in slow-motion…

From what I remember, the Bucs have “Caste Tortured” several white receivers over the years. After a rash of injuries to the team’s Alpha Males, former Brown University superstar receiver, Chas Gessner (who once had 24 receptions in a single game, one shy of the NCAA record), was called up from the practice squad in 2007 and actually started a game against Arizona. Boy, they must have been desperate indeed to start a fast, big-bodied, 6’-5” receiver with perfect hands, great vertical leaping ability, and a record-setting collegiate career…

80206FLPE101-2.jpg

CAPTION: Chas Gessner Effortlessly Burns Black Defender

Despite having a nice pre-season in 2003, former UCLA star receiver, Danny Farmer, was cut in favor of Charles Lee, Karl Williams, Reggie Barlow, and other no-name black turds. Thanks, “Chucky.” Of course, before being purged in favor of these nobodies with chocolate skin, Farmer was shown the door by the Steelers’ “Head Wigger” as well as the Bengals...

CAPTION: White Warrior Wasted

After Gessner and Farmer (and Bill Schroeder), I’m sure there have been plenty of other “Buccaneer Torture Victims” I’m forgetting.

Thanks for the info Sport Historian. Just want to add a little trivial TV nugget from that USC v. Notre Dame battle. In the early 2000's I used to frequently watch re-runs of 1970's TV drama Emergency, which was based around a bunch of L.A. firefighters and paramedics who went around saving people, when L.A. county was still like 90% white. Anyway, there was one episode were the men Engine 51 were having a busy week -- constantly getting calls, barely had time to eat or sleep.

At one point, the guys openly wished that nothing would happen next Saturday Night, so they could watch the "big game" (USC v. ND) together at the station...at the end of the show, they got there wish and were able to watch the whole game (no calls)...Last minute of the episode the men at Engine 51 all stand up in unison and cheer: "Another touchdown for McKay, USC goes ahead"...Next line from firefighter Chet Kelly: "Wow, McKay's gonna be a awesome pro!!! I guess the fictional Chet was wrong?

Jaxvid, good points about Steve Spurrier. Was there any doubt back in 1976 that he would make a perfect "future Caste Clown"...As it's likely most of the Bucs other receivers he "favored" at that point were black.

As far as your list, without looking it up to make sure, here are some names of guys that might have started AFTER 1976:

Tom Waddle started for the Bears in the early 1990's, and was a big Ditka favorite.

Brandon Stokley actually started for Baltimore for a short while...should've even the Super Bowl MVP in 2000?

Brian Finneran started for the Falcons for several years. Tim Dwight might've also...

Drew Bennett was a star in 2004 for Tennessee and started for several years...I think a guy named Tim Smith had 1,000 yards for Oilers in the mid 1980's (same franchise)

Wayne Chrebet started for the Jets for about a decade...Joe Jurevicius and McCaffery may've started at least one season for the Giants?

I know Brian Brennan and Darren Chiviarini (sp?) did start for the Browns, as well Joe Jurevicius after he left Seattle.

Kevin Curtis had an 1,100 yard season with the Eagles in 2007 (I think), so he started for a while...

Dwight Clark (1980's) started for 49ers....

Not sure if Patrick Jeffers counts in 1999 for the Panthers, but he had a 1,000 yards that season.

Arizona Cardinals featured a young Ricky Proehl in the early 1990's...A guy named Pat Tilley was a star WR for the St. Louis Cardinals into the the 1980's..

Detroit also had a tall dude named Jeff Chadwick, who played into the 1990's. He was a very RARE white receiver in his era..

Don't forget about Uncle Crissy from NBC and Jeff Query with the Bengals (1992)...

Bills are tough. Don Beebe played a lot, but was he ever a fulltime starter? Justin Armour is another possibility..

K.C. Chiefs? Might want to add Marc Boerigter and, perhaps, Sean LaChappelle (sp?) in around 1996?

Steve Largent still started for Seattle in 1988...As did Joe Jurevicius for their Super Bowl run in 2005...Joe J. did not start in Tampa (as Thrashen notes), but definitely was an entrenched starter in Cleveland and Seattle...and might've even started one year with the Giants.

Keith Poole might've started for a couple years in New Orleans when Ditka was the head coach....he certainly had good YPC stats back then. Another name from 1980's is Guido Merkins...Don't really remember him much, but the name is hard to forget -- not sure if he actually started, however.

Mike Renfro is another 1970's/1980's guy to take note of. I think he started for the Houston Oilers and Dallas Cowboys?

I gotta think some more on the other teams...Steelers and Redskins are very tough!!!

*******
Yes Thrashen, I believe the worst "caste screwing' I've ever seen is Danny Farmer -- in Pitt, Cincy and Tampa...No reason he should not have been a very good (or great) NFL player...He should've been at least as good as ex-UCLA teammate Drew Bennett in the NFL.

Thrashen, while looking up this thread, I saw the name Mike Barber. He's a guy that played a few season with the Bengals in the early 1990's as a #3 WR...He played 2 games for the Bucs in 1992 and caught 1 ball for 32 yards...Barber might have the best career YPC average in Bucs history with that 32 yard average?

Intriguing thread, Truthteller. I remember McKay very well; he was the NFL's version of Jerry Tarkanian, long time basketball coach at UNLV. Both of them played nearly all black players, except for their sons.

I believe the team who has had the least white WRs over the past 50 years is the Redskins. Even in the 1960s, their WRs were all black. Only Ricky Thompson, for a brief period in the late 1970s, had any appreciable playing time at the position. That's the way it's been for nearly 50 years in D.C.

The Saints have had very few white WRs since the days of Danny Abramowicz. The same goes for the Falcons. The Cardinals have had Pat Tilley and then Ricky Proehl, but little else since the 1960s. Brandon Stokely is the only white WR to play a lot for the Ravens franchise, to the best of my knowledge. The Lions had Mike Furrey for a few years, but virtually no one else since the days of Terry Barr and Gail Cogdill.

Before Welker, I think you'd have to go back to Randy Vataha in the 1970s, as far as Patriots' white WRs. The Bills have had more than most, from the days of Bob Chandler to Levy's tenure, where they had Beebe as the 3rd WR and Tasker as little used std. From the time Lombardi retired until Bill Schroder and the seldom used Jeff Query, Green Bay was pretty much coal black at WR, and of course now there's Jordy. Neither the Raiders or the Chiefs have featured white WRs for a very long time.

Has San Diego started a white WR since Alworth and Garrison? I can't think of any. That's a long time. Dallas had Golden Richards in the 1970s, and Doug Donley got a bit of playing time in the 1980s, but since then Cole Beasley, who is not playing now but on the roster, is about it. Greg Garrity was tortured by pioneering caste clown Buddy Ryan for a few seasons, and Kevin Curtis had a few years under present caste afficionado Reid, but other than that, not many white WRs for the Eagles since Pete Retzlaff and Tommy McDonald.

The only white WR the 49ers have featured in my lifetime was Dwight Clark. Think of that; everyone else Montana threw to was black, and all of Steve Young's WRs were black. I'm probably missing somebody, but the last Viking WR who was white that I can remember is Bob Grim. Even fairly white friendly Bud Grant didn't have other white WRs.

The Rams have probably been one of the most friendly teams to white WRs, since Martz had a few of them there during his tenure, and Amendola is starting to shine for them now. The only white Steeler WR in my lifetime, that I can recall, was Weegie Thompson, who had a short career back in the 1980s. He's certainly the only white WR Terry Bradshaw ever threw to.

All in all, it's a pretty depressing picture, isn't it? When you study the history of the position like this, it makes you realize just how successful the Caste System has been. Now imagine how much bleaker even than this it's been for white running backs....

Nice job Big Unreal and I love the Jerry Tarkanian analogy. Quite a few of basketball's absolutely hardcore white caste-clowns have made room for their sons as their token whites -- usually at point guard -- over the years...On the high school level you have the "legendary" Bob Hurley, who's sent 100's of players to D-1 schools, but the only whites are probably his sons Bobby (ex-Duke star) and Danny (Seton Hall), who played in high school in the latter part of the 1980's.

Between the names you posted and mine, Jaxvid should better fill out his depressing list. Vikings are a team I've followed close for quite a while and you are correct, whites need not apply at wide receiver in Minny. Special teams mascot Chris Walsh is the only one I can think of even being on the 53 man roster since the early 1990's?

The early-to-mid 1990's were a horrible time for white wide receivers. A guy like Brian Stabelin, who rarely played much, was considered lucky to just be on a roster and getting time as a number 4 receiver....Other names I recall from 1990's, that played a few seasons but never started, include Gary Wellman (Oilers), Scott Miller and Scott Schwedes (Dolphins), Sammy Martin (Patriots), Brad Lamb (Bills)..yes, it was quite bleak. Much worse than it is now, if that's possible?

Also, I remember the Redskins had a guy named Mark Stock who had a very memorable pre-season in the early 1990's and was getting some national attention/buzz because he dominated in some nationally televised pre-season games. Probably could've been a Wes Welker or Amendola of his time. Looking back, I'm not even sure he got into one regular season NFL game with Skins? I think he might've played for the Steelers right before Cowher took over for Noll?

Glad you mentioned Mark Stock, Truthteller. I may be remembering it incorrectly, but I think he scored 2 TDs in the last preseason game of 1992, and was summarily cut afterwards by "Saint" Joe Gibbs, in his final year of his first stint as Redskins coach.

I seem to recall this taking place much later, however, perhaps during Gibbs's second run as coach. If so, obviously, the white WR wasn't Stock.

I also neglected to mention Chris Doering, who was given a brief chance with the Redskins when his college coach Steve Spurrier was at the helm.

But you are right, things are actually better.

Good job filling in some blanks guys. I will add names to the list. I think it's probably easier to just name ANY White wide receiver as trying to find starting ones would take us back to the 1950's.

Arizona Cardinals --Ricky Proehl
Atlanta Falcons - Brian Finneran
Baltimore Ravens --Brandon Stokely
Buffalo Bills --Don Beebe
Carolina Panthers --Patrick Jeffers
Chicago Bears --Tom Waddle
Cincinnati Bengals --Jordan Shipley, Chris Collinsworth
Cleveland Browns --Brian Brennan and Darren Chiviarini
Dallas Cowboys --Golden Richards??
Denver Broncos -- Eric Decker
Detroit Lions --Bill Schroeder, Jeff Chadwick
Green Bay Packers -- Jordy Nelson (Bill Schroeder)
Houston Texans -- Kevin Walters
Indianapolis Colts --Austin Collie? no- Brandon Stokely
Jacksonville Jaguars --Matt Jones
Kansas City Chiefs --Marc Boerigter
Miami Dolphins --Brian Hartline
Minnesota Vikings --
New England Patriots -- Wes Welker
New Orleans Saints --Keith Poole, Danny Abramowicz
New York Giants
New York Jets --Wayne Chrebet
Oakland Raiders --Fred Biletnikoff??
Philadelphia Eagles --Kevin Curtis
Pittsburgh Steelers
Saint Louis Rams -- Danny Amendola, before that Jack Snow??
San Diego Chargers --Lance Alworth??
San Francisco 49ers --Dwight Clark
Seattle Seahawks --Steve Largent
Tampa Bay Buccaneers --Joe Jurevicius
Tennessee Titans --Drew Bennet
Washington Redskins

Pretty grim!!

The speedy Northern Iowa product, Eddie Berlin also started a few games for Tennessee (alongside Drew Bennett) during the 2004 season. For skin-related reasons, Berlin was never re-signed, instead choosing to sign with the Bears in 2005 and was quickly race-purged…

Fringe-player, Jimmy Farris, is the only white receiver I can remember even making the Redskin roster since the mid-1990’s. I remember him being on the field during a single game (possibly against the Eagles?) during the 2005 season. Like all undrafted white “scrubs,” Ferris was quickly shown the nearest exit (courtesy of the NFL’s Original Wigger, “Saint” Josephine Gibbs) out of Washington…

Two seasons before the drooling senior citizen with a paramecium-sized brain unceremoniously tossed Ferris out of Washington for being too white, Ferris did manage to see the field in Atlanta (during “emergency situations”) and instantly shined, compiling 6 catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs. Can you guess what loathsome team Ferris’ “finest hour” (his 42-yard TD catch) came against?

I agree with the Bigunreal with respect to the Rams consistently having the most white receivers of any team over the years. Ricky Proehl, Dane Looker, Mike Furrey (who also played safety), Kevin Curtis, Drew Bennett, and Danny Amendola…

49ers had Brett Swain on the roster for most of 2011, and I believe he started one game toward the end of the year. They also had Joe Hastings on the roster for the last few games of 2011.

Ah, Vinny Sutherland. Whenever his name comes up I like to tell the story of the game I saw at Michigan when lowly Purdue (this was at the end of the Big 2/Little 8, era) came in to the big house and stunned mighty Michigan. All I remember about this game was that Purdue had this WR that was basically a White streak blazing down the field. I don't remember seeing anyone that fast before or since. None of the all-black UM DB's had a prayer of covering him one on one. If Purdue had run nothing but long bombs to him that day they would have scored 70 points. Hie straight line speed was unbelieveable. I was sure that kid was going to go on to have a great pro career, because, you know, you can't coach speed. That's when I realized that "speed" actually has a color to it according to the NFL "experts".

jaxvid, had a little more time to look it up, Mike Renfro caught 60 for 955 yards in 1985 for the Dallas Cowboys. So it's very likely he was a starter for at least one season in Big D, prior to Golden R....Looking at the stats, Renfro probably started 3 years for Dallas.

Joe Jurevicius started 9 games for the Giants in 2001, so that's the majority of the season (albeit barely)....Ed McCaffery, by the way, only started 4 of 48 games with the Giants, so he would not count on that list....

Still have to think about Redskins, Vikings and Steelers...those clubs might have longer droughts without a full time white wide receiver than the odious Bucs (1976)?

Big unreal, just looked up Stock. 6 career catches. He had 4 rec. for 74 in 1989 for the Steelers....Next 2 receptions came 7 years later with the Colts (1996)...I wonder if any other receiver in NFL history went 7 years between receptions?

Amazingly, Stock did have a Topps card. It's amazing, I say, because only a small percentage of players (maybe 20 to 30% per team) got cards back then......number is probably around 10% (or less) of players per team these days...The folks at Topps figured Stock might've had some "upside" back in 1990, so he got a "rookie card"?

Here's a good article about Stock from 1993, where he constantly bemoans the fact that he keeps getting cut, despite playing well:

Thrashen, another white Rams wide receiver woefully under-utilized was Todd Kinchen. He was a high pick out of LSU (3rd round) in 1992 and reportedly possessed blazing speed. Played in the NFL for 7 seasons, but only started 2 games during that span. He ended his career with the Falcons when they made the Super Bowl...That team, led by the fairly white friendly Dan Reeves, might've had 3 white receivers? Kinchen, Ronnie Harris and Tim Dwight?

Kinchen's best remembered for 2 punt return TD's in one game as a rookie. Here are some of Todd's career hi-lights (LSU and NFL):

Despite being listed as a PR/KR The 1986 New York Giants' Phil McConkey led the Giants in yards/catch at 17.4 with his 16 receptions and 279 yds, also had the second longest catch of 46 yds., but never got 1 start.

Although he never started, I thought I would give him a mention to try and fill in the Giants blank at WR, maybe McConkey can get an Honorable Mention or something.

Good job filling in some blanks guys. I will add names to the list. I think it's probably easier to just name ANY White wide receiver as trying to find starting ones would take us back to the 1950's.

Arizona Cardinals --Ricky Proehl
Atlanta Falcons - Brian Finneran
Baltimore Ravens --Brandon Stokely
Buffalo Bills --Don Beebe
Carolina Panthers --Patrick Jeffers
Chicago Bears --Tom Waddle
Cincinnati Bengals --Jordan Shipley, Chris Collinsworth
Cleveland Browns --Brian Brennan and Darren Chiviarini
Dallas Cowboys --Golden Richards??
Denver Broncos -- Eric Decker
Detroit Lions --Bill Schroeder, Jeff Chadwick
Green Bay Packers -- Jordy Nelson (Bill Schroeder)
Houston Texans -- Kevin Walters
Indianapolis Colts --Austin Collie? no- Brandon Stokely
Jacksonville Jaguars --Matt Jones
Kansas City Chiefs --Marc Boerigter
Miami Dolphins --Brian Hartline
Minnesota Vikings --
New England Patriots -- Wes Welker
New Orleans Saints --Keith Poole, Danny Abramowicz
New York Giants
New York Jets --Wayne Chrebet
Oakland Raiders --Fred Biletnikoff??
Philadelphia Eagles --Kevin Curtis
Pittsburgh Steelers
Saint Louis Rams -- Danny Amendola, before that Jack Snow??
San Diego Chargers --Lance Alworth??
San Francisco 49ers --Dwight Clark
Seattle Seahawks --Steve Largent
Tampa Bay Buccaneers --Joe Jurevicius

Washington Redskins

Pretty grim!!

Pittsburgh Steelers- Tyler Grisham from Clemson briefly played for them in 2009. I think he's with Denver now.

Thanks, Thrashen- Ferris was the guy I was thinking of. It's not often a team with no quality WRs cuts a WR who catches two TDs in the last preseason game.

But then that was Saint Joe.

Carolina thanks for the input in this thread. Jaxvid's list is for white WR's that started for their teams throughout at least one entire season. Just looked up Weegie Thompson, and the link (below) claims he started 11 games for the Steelers in 1988. That's hard to believe, considering he only had 17 receptions that season?

So he did start a majority of Pitt's games that year, but should he count on our list with so few receptions? I don't remember him that season, but he must've been used mostly as a "blocking" receiver for the running game, which was led by current ESPN stodge Merrill Hoge?

Here's a good article about Weegie's career:

Also looked up Bob Grim. Just to show how bad the Caste system is, Mr. Grim is 67 years old....Imagine that, the last starting white wide receiver for the Vikings is nearly 70 years of age. This is in a state that was over 90% white up until the early 2000's. That's probably about the time our Kosher friends (i.e. Senators Paul Wellstone, Al Franken & Norm Coleman) started making sure the state received a large influx of "legal" Somalian and Nigerian refugees -- to go along with all the Mexican illegals -- in order to prop up their Communist agenda and hasten the state's social and financial demise.
