I managed to see enough of it on the computer to see that the 3,000 to 1 or whatever they were odds were right!

The guy is pro-slick and big for a middleweight. If he waits-out GGG, he could be the next one man demolition crew to smash and crush the dark brigade of browns, blacks, and morons. :campeon:

I like how Derevyanchenko is being moved along. By looking at his record he has been moved along quickly in the pro ranks, which is nice to see since he is 31 already and had the extensive amateur background. He should be in line for a title shot soon. He has great head movement and likes to inflict punishment. Truly a fun fighter to watch!

Great fight!

I won't say what happened and spoil it in case it's on video.

Derevyanchenko, Golovkin's IBF mandatory, has said he's ready and willing to fight Gennady on May 5.

This is the fight where Sergey ascends and Jacobs realizes his time is up. The clock has ticked loud on Jacobs.

I hope Derevyanchenko wins. I am still reeling from kovalev's loss in his last fight.

Sergei is a really good fighter. I know nothing about Jacobs.

Kinda sad this will be HBO's last boxing match broadcasted. Wow. Never would have believed that HBO is finished with boxing.

Last time out Jacobs got a gift decision against a white fighter. He is getting old before our eyes. His loss to GGG took a lot out of him.

Not true like a furniture store having their closing sale, it's being extended for an extra 2 months due to popular demand.

I have mixed feelings on HBO pulling the plug on a regular series of fights. Their production quality was elite, but their following and promoting of the sport was myopic. If they didn't have a fighter under contract he might have never existed in the casual fan's mind. Also they let contracted fighters get away with murder in terms of opponents quality. Who could forget Roy Jones fighting every civil service branch in America in the mid to late 90's. Also If ESPN or one of the big 4 networks pulls up the slack more eyeballs will have a chance to watch the fights, which will only help the sport grow to the level it was at 30+ years ago.

PS, I would love to watch the fights off of a stable over the air network, as today's snooze fest between Pulev and Fury died in the middle of the 11th round. I doubt that would happen on my television.

Jacobs is a very good fighter, but somewhat shopworn. Still it looks like he has a good height and reach advantage. This is a big step up for Sergei. Jacobs is strong and skilled. Sergei's mid range combinations could be just the ticket.

Sergiy could have won it, except he was dropped in the 1st. Great competitive fight. Jacobs with the SD win. Sergiy either should have stepped on the gas or was not in condition. Close fight.

The height and reach advantage of Jacobs was a little too much to overcome. I also think that Jacobs knew what he had as they have sparred for years together, it looked like he Jacobs ready to go at one point in the 12th round but his tank was near empty at that point.

So, what happens at Middleweight? Canelo stole another fight from GGG. It looks like Canelo will beat some C level fighter at 168 lbs. Jacobs will have to face a Charlo brother. GGG will come to fight who is standing. It will be an uphill climb for a man approaching 40 years old. Terrible shame the robbery Golden Showers perpetrated on hm.

Sergei gave a good account of himself in a good back and forth fight but Jacobs had the edge. The Ukrainian was aggressive but tentative much of the fight. Seemed like he got tagged a lot at the end of exchanges when he would just let his head hang there a split second too long.

Jacobs went in with much more experience plus he is a big middleweight.
