I was just taking a look at the early roster for the Senior Bowl, and it doesn't look good. Rather than create a new thread, this existing one works, since the title would have been the same! Here is what we have so far, by position:

DS - Danny Aiken, Virginia, 6'4", 255
DS - Christian Yount, UCLA, 6'1", 243
These are long-snappers. I don't think blacks even play this position, so the Senior Bowl committee had no choice but to invite a couple of "whiteys"

P - Alex Henery, Nebraska, 6'2", 175
p - Chas Henry, Florida, 6'3", 222
K - Kai Forbath, UCLA, 6'0", 191
K - Josh Jasper, LSU, 5'11", 162
Kickers/Punters. No comment necessary.

QB - Andy Dalton, TCU, 6'3", 220
QB - Jake Locker, Washington, 6'3", 230
QB - Greg McElroy, Alabama, 6'3", 225
QB - Christian Ponder, Florida State, 6'3", 227
QB - Ricky Stanzi, Iowa, 6'4", 230
This is a good sign. All of the QB's listed so far are white, not a black quarterback in the bunch.

TE - Preston Dial, Alabama, 6'3", 237
TE - Luke Stocker, Tennessee, 6'6", 253
This would be a shocking low number, except there are only 3 TE's listed so far.

WR - Matt Szczur, Villanova, 5'11", 205
If you need a reason to watch the game, here it is.

OL - Lee Ziemba, Auburn, 6'8", 319
OL - Kristofer O'Dowd, USC, 6'5", 300
Hopefully, there will be a lot more pasty-faced invites here, but this is alarming in that of the first 9 announced, only2 whites. If this is the sign of things to come, sack totals in the NFL will skyrocket in coming years.

DE - Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue, 6'4", 263
LB - Chris White, Mississippi State, 6'4", 245
Only two white guys for defense so far. Not surprising.

Congrats to Chris White! One of my friends informed me about him being invited yesterday. I hope those O-line and defensive numbers go up.

I'll check back periodically with the Senior Bowl website and update. The O-line disparity is alarming.

i didn't get a chance to watch the game, but for the North wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher had team-highs with5 catches for 62 yards. for the South, quarterback Christian Ponder was named game MVP after going 7-13 through the air for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. he also added 4 runs for 17 yards.

the "electrifying" Noel Devine had 7 carries for 8 yards.

Devine showed up at the weigh-in wearing shorts, a big no-no. He has skinny legs, which goes against the body type "requirement" for scatbacks. He also measured 5'7" flat, a full inch below his listed height, and an even 160lbs, a full twenty pounds below his listed weight.
He's a gimmick back who played in a gimmick offense on a team which possessed the best O-line in the conference. He shouldn't even have the privilege of free agent contract. But he will most likely be drafted by the sixth round.

wow can't believe Devine only weighs 160. Makes me wonder how much he weighed coming out of high school as a "blue chip" prospect.

And therein lies the reason Caste Football was created, I reckon. Devine is not a bad football player. Hell, there are lots of great football players who never even play college ball. Devine should have been playing at Wisconsin-Oshkosh or Whitewater (had to through in the Wisco reference) not a big-time Division 1 program... He is 5'7", 160 lbs... Hell Justin Beaver who dominated D3 (and had a better short-shuttle than 90% of the players invited to the combine) and was very fast was 5'7", 190 lbs. He should have gotten a chance.

Yes Devine would definetly be playing d2 or d3. Theres no way a 150 pound guy (which he probably was out of high school) at 5'7 would get an offer from any d1 school if he were white.Maybe 1-aa but even that depends on what part of the country he is in. There is a kid from New Orleans, Dylan Richard, looks to have great speed and quickness, 5'6 and 160. No offers. Led his team to win district against a pretty black team who has quite a few kids with offers, with 12 carries for 126 yards 4 tds (yes every 3 carries was a long td run), this is 5A competition. One of the top rushers in the state of Louisiana. The team he faced, their runningback 5'9 180 with hand timed 4.6 speed, didn't look that impressive, has a scholarship to Southern and had interest from several FCS schools. If Richard was black I am positive he would have an offer, at least from one of the local 1-aa colleges with his skillset, and players out of high school can easily add 10 to 15 pounds. Eugene Jarvis was listed at 5'5 156 out of high schooland got a scholarship to Kent State.
