The Seahawks invested quite a bit of draft capital to get a safety prior to last season - A 2021 1st round pick, 2021 3rd round pick and 22 first round pick. It would be comical if they could not get him signed to a long term deal or if his deal hinders the Seahawks thin roster - especially in the trenches on both sides of the ball over the next few seasons. Russell Wilson can only roll out and throw the ball downfield so many times before an injury occurs, they have a very mediocre running game as well.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports contract talks between Jamal Adams and the Seahawks "have been slow" and could extend into training camp.

“This is a situation that could bleed through training camp, even possibly close to Week 1," reported Fowler, who called talks "complicated." After trading two first-round picks, Seattle is committed to re-signing Adams, but the contract-year safety is "trying to reset the market." The Broncos made Justin Simmons the highest paid safety in March with a four-year extension that averages $15 million. Adams skipped Seattle's minicamp last month and is a candidate to hold out without a deal.

These teams are stupid. When you make a major trade such as this you don't do so until you are assured your new player will agree to a long term deal.

Seattle has done this sort of thing in the past. They traded a 2nd round pick for a player who only had one year remaining on his contract. He walked after the first year.

Real smart move by Seattle..Adams is basically a LB. His 8.5 sacks is impressive, his coverage ability is more on the average side. His ego seems out of control as well.

Nice to see Plantation Pete sign Toivonen! He's a guy I really wasn't aware of. But big bodied WR, pretty decent stats.

Regarding Adams: I get that you need to fight for your money at the negotiating table in the NFL, he has the team bent over a barrel here, and obviously his agent is handling the heavy lifting. But the theme I see repeated is how phrases like "highest paid" and "reset the market" recur over and over for black players. There have been plenty of white holdouts over the years; maybe the dearth of white opportunities shortens the list of candidates who can draw a line. But I don't recall a white player ever demanding he be the highest paid player on his team or highest paid position player in the league. Adams asked for this with the Jets previously.

It reminds me of Darrelle Revis, the old Jets cornerback, who insisted at the time that his new contract make him the highest paid and set a record for the position. When asked, he even told the media that his dream was to finish his career with the Jets! He forgot the caveat that his dream was also to earn $16,000,001 per season to surpass Champ Bailey by one dollar. There are plenty of black players who look beyond these simple metrics (for good reasons: winning teams, state tax rates, sponsorships, etc), but it seems like ONLY blacks are the ones who fixate on them, obviously for ego.

Adams has a black agent, Kevin Conner. I wonder how much that 'entitlement mentality' stereotype comes into play. Do front offices hire black attorneys to make angsty black agents feel less stand-offish over contract offers?

Ha, Revis Island! lol Supposedly no receiver could get open who was covered by this incredible cornerback, and then one day all of a sudden Revis outright sucked and was quickly finished in the NFL.

Get what you can while you can makes sense in this hyper-materialistic society, but remember that the corporate media is charged with hyping Black athletes to an absurd degree.

I’m confident Cody Barton will play a good amount this year

Ben Burr-Kirven led the Seahawks in their first preseason game with 12 tackles. Cody Barton was second with 9. K. J. Wright is an unsigned free agent so there's an opening at linebacker on Seattle. Our Lads currently has Burr-Kirven listed as the starting ROLB with Barton backing up Bobby Wagner in the middle. Though good old Plantation Pete might see both as WSTD only there's a good chance Burr-Kirven or Barton will start this season.

Was shocked when Seattle drafted those 2 a few years back. Figured Plantation Pete wanted them to play fetch. Very encouraging both are coming along nicely. Can't keep the tackling machines off the field!

Ben Burr-Kirven out for the season with a Torn ACL. Looks like it happened on the opening kick off -the injury occurred while he was in WSTD mode which is even worse.

Flat out lie from Weenieworld as they try to label Burr-Kirven as injury prone. He had one other injury, was extremly durable during his whole collegiate career - played in 12, 14, 13, 14 games at UW.

Seahawks LB Ben Burr-Kirven tore his ACL and his miss the 2021 season.
The 2019 fifth-round pick was working the Seattle's starting defense and was expected to begin the regular season as a starter. Burr-Kirven has a long injury history; he required sports hernia surgery in 2019. He's expected to miss the entire 2021 season.

The BBK makes me sick. My favorite college player and favorite nfl player… This could’ve been his breakout year

The Seahawks could potentially start ZERO white players this season. There are 10 whites currently on the 53-man roster:

3 special teamers - kicker Jason Myers, punter Michael Dickson, and long snapper Tyler Ott
3 backup OL - Jake Curhan, Ethan Pocic, and Dakoda Shepley (that all-sumo O-line sho' did work out great last year - not)
1 second-string TE - Will Dissly
Third-string QB Jake Luton (who's behind second-stringer Geno Smiff, what a joke)
Second-string linebacker Cody Barton (thought he was going to be starting)
Nick Bellore may be the closest thing, he is listed as both a second-string linebacker and the "starting" fullback - but the fullback isn't in on every play

There will sometimes be palefaces on the field, but on many plays this team will be a literal plantation, with Wigger Pete as massa.

This vile team has well-earned its grade of FAIL (Big time)

Wow I initially had been duped into thinking this might be a better year than expected for Seattle.. Seemed like Barton and Burr-Kirvin were on track to start. Figured they'd have a couple Honkeys on OL, but this is next level caste. Pathetic.

Ethan Pocic was the presumptive starter at center and OurLads still lists him as the starter, but on the Seahawks' official site he's been demoted. Burr-Kirvin was also expected to start before being injured, but now we're looking at the first team with all 22 starters Black in NFL history.

I wonder if the corporate media will make much of it or not. There's been a bunch of teams with just one or two White starters going back a while now so it's not that much of an "advancement" for the Caste System but it is the kind of first the system loves to celebrate. Hell, the one time the Pirates started an all-Black team back in 1971 is still made a big deal over, especially this year on the 50th anniversary of it.

A rare notable move for one of our guys by the Seahawks. UDFA LB Jon Rhattigan from Army has been signed to the active roster from the practice squad. He was elevated last week but is now an official member of the 53 for hopefully the entire season. This is especially cool because Rhattigan saw almost no playing time at all before his senior year at Army and now he’s a member of an NFL 53 man roster. Prior to 2020 Rhattigan had 6 career tackles and only played in 1 game his first 2 years at Army, I’m sure the NFL wasn’t even something he had ever thought about at that time. Fast forward a year and after a great 2020 season as a first time starter in his last season he is now on an NFL team.

Even more impressive is that he only played in 1 preseason game due to injury.

Wilson will be out for an extended period of time - 6-8 weeks. This is the first time Wigger Pete will be without Wilson as his starting QB in almost a decade.

Here's an interesting article. 6 of the 7 QBs listed are actually white. Ideally I'd like to see either Andy Dalton or Nick Foles - one of the two could and should use this to get out of a situation in Chicago where they've been flat-out told they have no chance of starting. Blake Bortles, Nick Mullens, Gardner Minshew (who is actually given the "dat upside" compliment by the article), and Jake Luton (who was the Seahawks' 3rd string QB to start the season but was released earlier this year) are also on the list.

Yea, his plantation is in real jeopardy of falling to bottom feeder status in a tough division. The defense is already terrible so it was really only Wilson and the offense keeping the team afloat. The drop off from Wilson to Smiff is a significant one.

Doubtful that Plantation Pete trades for a QB. I feel Minshew would be a good move, he's a similar player to Russell Wilson but alas he was thrown into a bad situation in Jacksonville whereas Wilson enjoyed a strong defense and running game during his early years which helped his development. Minshew should be starting in this league - he's better than Hurts who is a modern day "Garbage Time Griffin". Foles and Dalton are also starting QBs but they are now both behind a black quarterback...White replacement anyone?

I can’t believe Minshew is a 3rd string QB. 5500+ yards, 37 TD’s to 11 INT’s, and 500 rushing yards in 21 starts. Also he was a 6th round pick and is only 25. That’s better than a lot of starting QB’s in the NFL right now.

Wilson has managed to stay healthy for a long time despite his propensity to run too much. It’s made him one of the best QBs in the league, might be catching to him.
