Scout.com, having been bought out recently by Fox Sports, is now gone forever. Fox has switched the website over to "Fox Sports Digital". The large (and well organized) searchable player database is gone. The only thing that remains is a crappy "Top Prospects" list that's about as useful as a draft guide from a basement blogger.
This isn't major news in the world of football, but it will definitely affect those of us who relied on various sources to keep track of high school football players every year. It will also make it much more difficult to compile recruiting lists for each school for the purposes of evaluating their signing classes each year. Rivals just isn't as thorough or as well organized as Scout was.

The database is back. I think it was just a matter of changing over. Technical glitches are inevitable. Frankly, I can't imagine what Scout is, aside from that database.

They were back 5 days after I originally made this thread.
Their "new look" was a disaster. There was a still a forum and the hatred for the new site was universal.
I should have amended this thread as soon as they brought the recruit database back, but I figured it would just slip off the page and be forgotten about.
In any case, it's a dead issue now and this thread should be deleted.
