Sam also had 3 receptions for 25 yards. If Sam is healthy he will have a nice 2nd half. McGuffie has NFL talent and speed, he may not be a RB at the next level though. Sam will probably be used as a slot WR/PR/KR or in a Woodhead type of role as a RB.

The Rice coaching staff has all the confidence in the world for Sam and know (have said it many times) he's their best player which is why they'll be trying to get the ball in his hands as often as possible once he's completely healthy. Sam has ankle breaking cut moves which are hard to do with a knee injury.

I was at the Marshall-Rice game today and sat behind the Rice bench. Sam McGuffie was pacing the whole time he was on the sidelines, and it looked as if his leg problem might still be bugging him a bit. The team did nothing to help him in the first half, but he ran the ball well in the second half, finishing with 10 carries for 66 yards and his first rushing TD of the year. Unfortunately, he fumbled late and Marshall used the opportunity to score the go-ahead TD. Let's hope McGuffie gets 100% healthy soon and finishes the year strong.

Looks like McGuffie has a good chance of getting moved to slot receiver full time with Brandon Hamilton, at least thats what they plan to do. He needs to produce somewhere, the coaches aren't using him to his fullest potential and he has been set back due to injuries. Hamilton looks like one of those kids that is already fully matured , like a Dion Lewis type, big things his freshman season but never really progressed.

What a crazy ride it has been for the kid. I hope this helps him to reach his dream of playing on Sunday. It would be devastating if he just faded away and was never heard of again. Good luck to Sam in his final year at Rice.

Yeah....what a crazy ride for us McGuffie fans as well. He was so heralded coming out of HS and then line up his first game in the "Big House" as the starting RB for Michigan....becomes the leading freshman rusher in Michigan history....then it all goes to hell with the concussions. I don't think he ever recovered from the concussions and it was obvious he was never happy at Michigan, even though he did not articulate why. I would be willing to bet that the reason was racial harrassment by teammate over him starting at a "protected position". Lots of HS super-athletes don't live up to their hype, but we have so few to cheer for at the RB position that it has really hurt. I feel like a black person in the 40s and 50s who is cheering for one of "theirs" that got a chance (e.g. Jackie Robinson)......you know that they just have to perform or there will be so few "second chances".....

I'm really hoping he gets a shot in the NFL. The "McGuffie Mixtape" as it's known on the internet gets appreciation from everyone I know.

The Houston Chronicle article stated he competes in heptathalons. Why is he wasting time training for the pole vault, high jump, and shot put when he should be working on his speed?

He easily beats his fellow hepthletes in sprints, but against real sprinters, he gets destroyed. At the Texas A&M Invitational, he ran a 7.08 in the pre-lims, and didn't even make the finals.

I thought he had elite sprinter speed coming out of high school, but his best 60's for the year are 6.94, 6.97, and the 7.08. I wonder what his 40 is now.

Good news for Sam. I am glad he will get a chance to showcase his talents even if it's north of the border.

On a side not I opened the first page of this thread and saw many familiar board members I haven't heard from in a long time. I viewed 7 or 8 of their profiles and they all stopped coming to the site in 2011.

It's caste system fatigue. Years of the same crappy agenda wearing you down and depressing you. Who needs it? There is enough of it in other facets of life to not want the supposedly fun part of it (sports) bumming you out too. Look at this year in the NFL. Possibly two white running backs getting significant touches for the first time since Csonka and Kiick and what happens, one is injured the other under-performing (for whatever reason). Elite receivers Decker and Cooper? One is partially injured with a crappy black QB and the other has become a butter fingered 5th option.

Brady and the whiter Patriots seemingly falling apart, Manning with a nearly all black crew. One after the other of black quarterbacks being brought in despite their poor play. It's only due to the incredible dedication of Don that the site can even survive. But it's like this in other areas too. Is there any small glimmer of sanity in the political process? In the major media? In the churches?

Occasionally something happens, a Peyton Hillis banner year, a Pats Superbowl, a sub 10 100 meter, and it doesn't seem so bleak. But then the system ratchets up again and it's back to the status quo. I give a lot of credit to the guys that have stuck around. That kind of stubbornness is a gift. I wish more people posted, I like to read stuff from like minded people but even I find that when I want to reply or chime in part of me says "what's the point" and click on to something else.

Sam McGuffie hits particulary close to home for me. That kid was talented, really talented. And he came to the one football program I have followed all my life. He played pretty good early on and it all came crashing down. De-emphasized so Denard Robinson could be emphasized, a concussion returning a kick. Quitting the program to go back home. It couldn't have been scripted much worse. Nice that he is still playing ball somewhere as he is a great player but thinking what could have been is depressing.

Nice post jaxvid. I totally get the caste system fatigue and suffer it myself. Like you I will sometimes want to make posts or threads and eventually just say what's the point. With that said this site provides me with my only outlet to discuss what is going on in sports from the only perspective I care about.

We are lucky to all have a place to discuss with other enlightened individuals who easily see the caste system at work. It does get disheartening sometimes when trying to create threads to spur conversation and dialogue get very few replies but I have noticed a large number of views on most threads I have created so I think people are visiting the site if only for informational purposes.

i think the site needs to be "rebranded" and use cultural Marxism in sports rather than the caste system. When visiting other sites and/or reading comments I feel there are a ton of white people who see what is going on in society and are sick and tired of it. Much of what is wrong with society can be blamed on cultural Marxism and people are able to see it, identify it and more frequently speak out against it when it applies to many of the societal issues. People fail to make the connection with sports because they have been mislead and made to believe the best players play when all the evidence out there points to obvious and blatant anti white racism.

i believe linking cultural Marxism with the caste system and making them synonymous to people who visit the site would be advantageous to exposing antiwhite discrimination in sports and in exposing the culprits and their tactics to a wider audience.

Nice that McGuffie got a spot. I know that the actual intent of adding a track athlete to the bob sled team is to fill the Winter Olympics with diversity. We've seen this before with black track stars added to the sleds. Heck they made a whole movie about it. One of the other rookies added was a Hakeem Adbul-Saboor, that I am guessing does not have much of a background in Alpine sports. So yeah it's great that McGuffie screwed the diversity crowd by making the team, but I wonder how many guys that have been racing sleds all their life have been tossed aside. And really what kind of sport just picks the best athletes out of a pool of competitors? Shouldn't there be some kind of skill in the sport necessary?
