Ryan Cothern, Tailback (no pic)
Parklane Academy (Mississippi)
No measurements

Ryan just finished his 8th grade* year at Parklane Academy. White Lightning posted about him previously in the Track and Field forum. But he didn't mention Ryan is a star runningback for his school. I'm not sure about the football programs at Parklane, but I believe 9th grade is still JV, so he won't be on the high school team next year. But he already has the moves and speed of a college prospect. Here are his highlights from last season (remember, he's only 13 or 14 here). He also won something called the "Metro Jackson AAU sub-youth 100 meter dash" last year with a time of 12.1 (video here). He has since improved his 100m time to 11.86. As long as some caste coach doesn't move him to safety, he should be a big name in a couple of years.

His youth is the reason personal data isn't readily available. And I'm not sure I'd post any of it here, anyway.

Ryan Cothern Top Prospect in Mississippi

This kid attended camp at the University of Alabama. I took notice when he was the only white kid out of 5 who were chosen to work out with running back coach Burton Burns. He appeared to fit in well with the top prospects so I got his name from a friend and discovered he was for real, Sophomore Highlights, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D8WQ4QOm1w and he also has a profile online http://247sports.com/Player/Ryan-Cothern-34284 So you can say you called it. I'm not sure where he will end up but has definitely made an impression on the recruiting scene. 4.57 40 and 33'7" is surely to impress someone. Tri-County must be glad they picked this kid up!

Thanks for posting.
I always try to keep tabs on the athletes I post about, even if I don't follow up in their threads. Some times, information is difficult to come by. Ryan has been like that. Thanks for the link to his highlights. It's good that he's entering the the recruiting process so early. It's much more crucial for white athletes to do that than blacks. I see that some moron on his Youtube page has already tried to limit him to D2 by declaring him too small to play D1A football. DWFs are immune to logic, reason, and factual data. But, adding an inch before his senior year would definitely help. Hopefully his parents are smart enough to feed him plenty of whole dairy and fatty meats (both good for growth) for the next year.

wow, he looks amazing, especially for a sophomore. I don't think he really needs to gain any height, just add some bulk to his frame, being a sophomore, that shouldn't be hard to do by the time he is a senior.
Wow!!!! Great find. This kid is impressive. I don't know where the 11.87 100 meters came up as he looks more like a 11.2 to 11.4 guy right now. He is only going to get better. I'll be keeping my eye out for this kid in a couple of years.
