http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/...de-nfl-hires-offensive-defensive-coordinatorsFor a brief second I thought the author was going to state that the NFL had a permanent cadre of Black coaching candidates and the rule should go the way of the model T Ford. No this author wants to strengthen the rule and force teams to hire coordinators with this rule. How long until equipment managers are forced to be part of the Rooney Rule....

No owner should be forced to hire someone based on skin color. That's just ridiculous. The NFL is a business and you should be able to hire whomever you want to run that business. Sticking some affirmative action clown in as a head coach can cost a team millions if the coach is incompetent. I wonder when whites become a minority in their own country will the noble minorities be so kind to us?

I had to rant. Roy Johnson and Jemele Hill have way too much writing power time to bring them down a notch.

To be fair I misstated the Rooney Rule is to interview minority candidates for head coaching jobs, but it has created joke interviews where clearly unqualified position coaches have gotten interviews for jobs that they wouldn't get in a million years. Now this idiot wants to extend the rule to coordinator jobs....:dizzy::thumbdown:

What else should one expect from the sprawling, 116 acre "Sports Synagogue" based in Bristol, Connecticut? Just more insipid pablum aimed at the hopelessly dumbed down American sheeple. Once they've turned these American sports leagues all black, they'll turn their undivided attention to mainstreaming gays and lesbians in sports:

Salters: Is homosexuality new civil rights? http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7065524

PS: Ironically, Salters, who might be a closet lesbian, played a few years of college basketball as a walk-on for the now "infamous" ex-Penn State coach Rene Portland, who's Hall of Fame career went down in flames because she openly refused to accept, recruit and coach lesbians. I love how super fiesty little Lisa Salters (the shortest player PSU hoops history) will "tackle any issue" on ESPN, particularly race issues, but wont talk about her ex-coach? After all, just about very other high profile ex-Lady Lion has? Perhaps the whole lesbian issue is too close to home for her and she doesn't want to lose her high paying gig on BSPN/ABC?

More Rooney Rule nonsense. I love the Herm Edwards quote over not wanting teams to be forced to hire minorities yet whining about the lack of minority head coaches and general managers...:der:http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8903044/black-former-nfl-coaches-say-rooney-rule-broken
