Here is an interesting bit I saw today. Rivals gave out awards for the best performers at it's Rivals-Under Armour camps, and at QB and RB the winners were white. While QB isn't a surprise, in spite of the extreme push going on for black quarterbacks, I was surprised that a white kid wouldn't be overlooked because he isn't the right color.

I'm not surprised that he was the best, I often see white kids dominating HS camps at "forbidden" positions, but it's not a problem for the recruiting services. They just become ignored when the time comes for colleges to come looking. It's a position that should be at LEAST half-white at both college and pro if recruiting and ranking was color-blind.

The QB, Josh Rosen, is a five-star recruit and can pretty much pick where he wants to go. Sean McGrew, the RB, is a "no star" recruit, but has been offered by UCLA. Hopefully we'll get to see this kid on the Bruins.

Thanks for the update FD! Contrary to what some may say that the Manning's & Brady's are going the way of the dinosaur...even the recruiting services disagree...there continues to be a plethora of quality Pro-Style QB's coming thru the pipe-line year in & year out from coast-to-coast!

Actually RB-Sean McGrew(also w/ offers from Colorado & Wash St) is in the Class of 16'...so even more impressive that he is currently on the radar screen! The camps are where it's at! And only 5'-7" 166 even more impressive getting noticed...He could grow to 5'-9" 190 out of HS...Perfect size for Scat-back w/ 4.4 speed! Guys like Steve Manfro(UCLA) could be helping pave the way...like a domino effect..

Seeing Danny Woodhead's success could hopefully open up a few more doors for the Scat-backs! UNC freshman phenom Ryan Switzer also helped the cause(playing a lot of slot)...after tying the NCAA Record for Punt Return TD's last season!

I'd be curious to see how players like Julian Edelman(lined up at Tail Back on rare occasion) & Wes Welker(earlier in his career) might do as Scat-backs if given the opportunity?? Hopefully we will be able to see Sam McGuffie (currently on Patriots Practice Squad) get an opportunity!

its hard to tell much about him except that he has great top end speed and burst, for a few plays you can see him with quickness . I think UCLA is thinking "we got our gunner", what have they done with Steve Manfro. The kid has 30 career carries s far. It will be nice to see how this kid turns out, he is only a sophomore in the video

Rosen is getting a lot of hype because he is jewish. Much like Jake Heaps, I have not been impressed with him. I expect him to have trouble throwing on the run, and reading defenses. Ricky Towne is a much better pocket passer.
