The 49ers suspect that Pearsall suffered a minor PCL tear in Sunday's game.
But that is not confirmed yet.
Either way, he will probably miss their next game, which is on Thursday.

Even though this is football he reminds me of the retired basketball player Rex Chapman. Chapman when healthy took 2nd in the NBA Dunk Contest and was a good player. He battled injuries on & off his whole career from the time he was young.

Ricky Pearsall has so much talent but it's sad that his body just won't hold up. He should try yoga. The more limber you are and the less likely you are to get hurt. I'm sure he's tried alot of things. Hope hie knee calms down quick as this season could be his last chance. I'm really rooting for the kid.
 
At this point you have to wonder how serious Pearsall takes his rehab, recovery and health. Is it a priority? We don't have that insight. It isn't promising news. The only reason White athletes are viewed as injury prone is because the sample size is so small so the injuries get amplified.
 
Pearsall is starting to remind me of Drew Sanders and Troy Andersen, two immensely talented linebackers who are permanently injured to the point that their NFL careers may be over before they ever really started. Hopefully Ricky can heal up and play this season but it's not looking good.

Maiocco’s exact phrasing is a bit wordy, but he says, “it’s reasonable, rational, logical, for the 49ers to not expect Ricky Pearsall to make any contribution in 2026.” Pearsall is dealing with the same PCL tear that plagued him last year. The team reportedly believed it would heal this offseason. It apparently did not. The team is trying to determine whether he must undergo surgery to correct the issue. If so, he will miss the 2026 season. For those wondering why he did not undergo surgery earlier this offseason, Maiocco says the required recovery timeline would “probably” have caused him to miss the 2026 season anyway. If they delay the surgery this time around, his 2027 season could be impacted. Regardless of which path they choose, we hope Pearsall enjoys a swift, successful recovery. He should probably be avoided in fantasy drafts at this time.
