Zach Zenner was always a better running back while on the Lions than this bust.
Don, the treatment of Zach Zenner is probably what chaps my ass more than anything in recent memory. Every time Zach got meaningful snaps or carries he outplayed ALL the blacks drafted higher. And yet caste-hole Detroit he never got the chance he deserved. He ran for 60 yards in the opening half in a nationally televised game against the Cowboys and then... nothing the rest of the game nor much in subsequent games. He nearly hit the 100 yard mark against Green Bay a couple years later and it was his last meaningful game ever.

His treatment sickens me because he was Better than over half the starting running backs in the league. But he was white and from a small school. And to the MSM if a white running back from a small school could tear up the League... that could open the floodgates to people questioning the narrative.

I agree, he was clearly starting talent, top half of the league starting talent if not more.

Zach also was his own worst enemy when he re-signed with Detroit when Minnesota was wooing him to be oft-injured Dalvin Cook's backup. Signing with the Vikings was a no-brainer, but like so many well-meaning, high-quality young White men he was so grateful to the team that signed him as a free agent and had no intention of ever letting him realize his talent, that he missed the bigger picture, including his own self-interest. Not blaming him, these kids are mostly oblivious to the Caste System and racial politics in sports.

A second round pick, the guy's been a total dud. I remember seeing his "highlight" film and it was obvious he had nothing going for him, another slow, lumbering receiver like N'Keal Harry, who was a first round pick the same year.

NJ.com's Mike Kaye believes WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside is in danger of getting cut.
This comes as no surprise for the 2019 second-round bust. Arcega-Whiteside has repped with the backups in training camp and dropped his only target of the preseason. 2020 late-rounders Quez Watkins and John Hightower are stronger bets to make the Eagles' 53-man roster.

2017 1st round pick Taco Charlton cut by his third team since coming into the league. I wonder which team will sign him next.

The original SUMO Andre Smith cut by the Ravens today. Ravens also cut Pats former 2nd round draft pick S Jordan Richards (from 2015...what a magical year for mediocre black players). Richards has never recorded a sack, a TFL or interception since coming into the league.

Thank goodness we document this, no one else seems to care. This thread definitely proves the point of this site. Gold mine of information.

Yep at least we track it and don't dish out the same lazy articles year after year with the same top 10 all time busts. This is probably the most important thread on this site as it pertains to football with the 2nd being Claimjumper's summary of white starters.

Super-hyped rookie RB Travis Etienne suffered a Lisfranc foot injury in his third ever NFL snap last night. Might be premature to put him here already, but he's off to a good start to bust status.

Sounds like he is done for the year. James Robinson was actually solid for Jacksonville last year - etienne was not a necessary pick considering the o-line issues. I won’t be delusional enough to think that Cotrell will be given a roster spot under Urban meyer

If I may play the predict-a-bust game. As a jets fan I sometimes scan their messageboard for training camp updates, and last years 11th overall pick, LT mekhi becton has been absolutely terrible in training camp this year. He’s now out with a concussion and weighs over 370 lbs. there are a few fans who are skeptical of how he’ll progress, and are expressing worry over his conditioning, and poor performances so far this preseason. Of course those few fans get met with nothing but vitriol and berating by the overwhelming amount of DWFs that inhabit the message board, and those fans that do admit he’s been bad this preseasons blame it on the white coaches or white interior lineman of course lol can’t be the big, black, 11th overall picks fault he’s not improved. It has the be the other (few) white lineman, or the white coaches fault. To be objective, Becton was average/decent last year, he wasn’t terrible at all, but so far this preseason, he’s clearly regressed and cannot stay healthy, especially at his enormous size. As a jets fan, I’m hoping I’m wrong, but when even the average DWF starts to notice that their man child is playing horribly , you have to read the tea leaves.

Third round washout in 2017, a total dud:

Texans released WR Taywan Taylor.
Not a good look for 26-year-old Taylor not being able to crack the league's worst roster. The 2017 third-rounder of the Titans hasn't caught a pass in the regular season since 2018 and is probably running out of chances.

A lumbering, oft-injured second round pick from the infamous 2015 draft, Funchess kept getting chances but may finally be out of them:

Packers released WR Devin Funchess.
Funchess was originally signed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Packers in 2020 but will ultimately log zero snaps in Wisconsin after opting out of his first year with the team and being carted off during Green Bay's most recent preseason game. Funchess, 27, will likely go three years between regular season snaps after having not played since Week 1 of the 2019 season.

Perhaps his time is finally up - his 5th team has cut him.

Lions released WR Breshad Perriman.

That Perriman was on the roster bubble was clear in mid-August, when the veteran was running almost exclusively with Detroit's second-team offense. He may have sealed his fate Friday against the Colts, dropping two passes while securing one catch for six yards. The Lions will likely roll with Tyrell Williams, Quintez Cephus, and Amon-Ra St. Brown in three-receiver sets this season. St. Brown is a reasonable late-round pick in PPR formats. Perriman, 28 in September, could land on a practice squad this fall.

First round mega-bust:

Jaguars released WR Phillip Dorsett.
Assuming he isn't on a roster in two weeks time, it will be nearly two years since Dorsett last appeared in a regular-season game after missing all of 2020 with a foot issue. He's eclipsed 400 receiving yards one time since entering the league in 2015.

lol, another first round mega-bust

Giants placed WR John Ross (hamstring) on injured reserve.
Ross didn't play in the preseason and barely played at all in training camp. It's, unfortunately, news that has been pretty synonymous with the speedster's career. Even in a new situation in New York, he just can't stay healthy. Ross had started just 20 games in four years in Cincinnati before joining the Giants on a one-year deal. New York re-signed wideout C.J. Board in a corresponding move.

and another:

Patriots placed WR N'Keal Harry (shoulder) on injured reserve.
After having some rare positive press in training camp following a tumultuous offseason that included a trade request, Harry injured his shoulder in Week 2 of the preseason and finished the preseason with just two catches for 23 yards. He'll miss at least the first three games of the season. With his 2021 campaign already heading in the wrong direction, it looks like the Harry experiment is nearly at its conclusion. The Pats will move forward with Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor as starters, and Kendrick Bourne may be the main beneficiary of Harry's vacated snaps.

No mention of Gunner O picking up snaps? Is he that buried?

At least this time he was signed by an odiously caste bears team.

Bears signed WR Breshad Perriman.

The Lions made Perriman a "surprise" release at final cuts after a poor camp and preseason followed by an offseason plagued by a hip issue. Although the Bears' receiver corps is in much better shape than the Lions', it is still one of the league's thinner units behind Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney. 27-year-old deep threat Perriman could immediately push for No. 3 duties. He's a potential fit with big-armed rookie Justin Fields, but not as much Andy Dalton.

Artie Burns - another 1st round bust cut by the Bears. It's hard keeping up with all of the 1st/2nd/3rd round black busts!

Bears released CB Artie Burns.
After spending four years in Pittsburgh, Burns signed with the Bears last offseason but a torn ACL kept him out for the entire year. Burns struggled with the Steelers after going as the 25th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Seems like every DB the Steelers have drafted in the early rounds has bombed for a long time now. Troy Polamalu may be the last one who panned out.

Mega-bust Perriman probably has another two years and three more NFL teams to realize his non-existent upside before he finally fades out for good.
