Affletic Cardinals safety, ex-Bengals bust faces long-term suspension for betting on NFL games. Considering how his career was trending downwards, he's like done.

He may get black balled out of the league but he won't get a permanent ban. I know if he tried to influence a game he would be swiftly banned and prosecuted and would do time most likely(unless he ratted on a gambling ring).

The NFL has softened their stance on this issue because of the league going to Sodom and Gomorrah(Las Vegas), I know Alex Karras and Paul Hornung were banned for a similar time frame for office pool type betting in the 60's, it's been long talked about as a reason why Karras hasn't garnered much traction as a hall of fame candidate.

Falcons acquired DE Charles Harris from the Dolphins in exchange for a 2021 seventh-round pick.
The organization will now have 72 hours to decide whether to exercise his fifth-year option for 2021. It's nothing more than a shot in the dark for the Falcons, who are acquiring Miami's former No. 22 overall pick from the 2017 draft (due $1.9 million this year) for pennies on the dollar. Harris hasn't lived up to his first-round profile in that span, totaling a dwindling sack count (3.5) across eight starts the past three years, but he does land in a non-competitive situation in Atlanta's front-seven. The Falcons need all the help they can get on defense, which at least gives Harris a shot to make noise behind Dante Fowler, Takk McKinley, and John Cominsky as a rotational EDGE rusher.

He'll settle for $8.1 million on the final year of his rookie deal before becoming an unrestricted free agent (rather than making $15.6 million) in 2021. Davis just turned 25 in January but has yet to live up to the expectations of a former No. 5 overall pick, declining across the board in receptions (43), receiving yards (601), and touchdowns (2) behind A.J. Brown last year. A simple change of scenery for the former could very well be of use barring a surprising fourth-year breakout.

Don the thing stuck out with me last week was when the imbecile Trey Wingo quoted George Santayana who said this “those who don’t remember history are destined to repeat it.”

I guess Wingo, his media cohorts and the rest of the NFL have their heads too far up their asses to realize they are guilty of this ever year.

Thomas is up there with Dion Jordan

49ers declined DL Solomon Thomas' fifth-year team option for 2021.
It was a no brainer as exercising his option would've landed Thomas roughly $13 million in 2021. He'll instead hit the market as an unrestricted free agent next offseason barring a surprising breakout. The former No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 draft, Thomas has underwhelmed with six sacks and 16 tackles for loss in 46 games with San Francisco. 25 in August, he'll continue to be used as a rotational pass rusher this upcoming season.

I remember the hype that reached fever pitch. A perfect test sample. There are countless other examples. To say he is average is a reach. More a below average mediocrity. Three seasons in despite getting a fair share of targets he has a paltry career 57% catch rate. Has scored only 6 touchdowns in three years. Compare him to teammate Adam Humphries who he started over. Adam who keeps improving is darn good with a career 75.5% catch rate.

A cursory glance at Davis and you figure he was a very late round draft choice who is just muddling along in the NFL? Wrong. This overrated MAC player was picked 5th overall in the 2017 draft. Another over hyped mediocre black WR clown from the MAC. Meanwhile deserving fellow MAC player WR Cody Thompson didn't get drafted at all last year.

There were 36 black wide receivers chosen in this draft. Some even run the 40 in an appetite wetting 4.7 plus. A dozen or more can't even spell proper pass pattern. Sure a few to several will pan out but most will clog up line ups whose main purpose is to give teams that all important caste look.

So for the sake of truth and accuracy I want to rename this draft. Currently thought of as "The Year of the (black) Wide Receiver."

I will change that and hereby declare when it comes to wide receivers this draft is "The Year of Flotsam in a Pond."

Remember how Fournette was hyped as an unprecedented combination of size, speed and running ability?

Jaguars declined Leonard Fournette's fifth-year team option.
The Jaguars were rumored to have Fournette on the trading block during the NFL Draft but were unable to even fetch a 7th-round pick for their former first-rounder. With today's news, 2020 will assuredly be Fournette's last year with the Jaguars, and it's not a guarantee that he's still on the team when we kick off. The Jaguars are clearly ready to move on and even brought in more competition today by signing pass-catching RB Chris Thompson, who now reunites with coach Jay Gruden. Fournette is unlikely to see the 265 carries and 100 targets that he saw last season.

Here’s another player I remember being touted as a can’t miss 1st round inside linebacker. Instead he’s been a consistent missed tackler and an otherwise non-playmaker. Virtually every White linebacker who’s plugged into a starting lineup is an immediate tackling machine, no matter his draft position. Meanwhile, few Whites are selected every year while guys like Davis are a dime a dozen.

Davis was taken 21st overall in the 2017 draft, the year before coach Matt Patricia was hired, so he doesn't exactly have ties to this coaching staff. The off-ball linebacker has made minimal impact through three seasons, appearing in 41-of-48 games while producing just one interception, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 10 sacks. He had an outlier six-sack 2018. Davis was Pro Football Focus' No. 72 linebacker out of 83 qualifiers last season. He was third in missed tackles as a rookie and sixth the following year. Davis likely would have been up there in 2019 if not for missing five games to an ankle injury.

Earlier today I had to fact check a couple of Packers Dwfs who thought GB should trade for ultra Bust John Ross. LOL there are some stupid people out there.. One guy was arguing he wasn't a BUST. Uh, dude he's played in 24games out of 48 and barely has 700yds over 3 seasons as a Top10 Pick
He's fast though and hasn't realized his limitless potential..

John Ross so far has been an epic bust. 49 total catches in three seasons and averaging just 14.6 yards per reception despite running the fastest ever 40 at the Combine.

There's a "John Ross type" drafted early seemingly every year, a small straight-line speedster with nothing else going for him who never pans out. The failure rate for the Caste System prototypes as well as the cookie cutter assembly line drafted at most positions every year is astonishing, but since it's never acknowledged anywhere but here at Caste Football, it never changes as the average American is incapable of observing for himself what's right in front of his eyes if it isn't pointed out and repeated incessantly by the media. This year's "John Ross type" is Henry Ruggs, taken by the Raiders in the first round.

This reality could lead to second-round pick Tee Higgins perhaps finding his way into three-WR sets sooner rather than later. Ross has totaled a pedestrian 49-716-10 receiving line in 24 games since entering the league in 2017. The former No. 9 overall pick has struggled to stay on the field, but flashed serious upside with 7-158-2 and 4-112-1 performances to start the 2019 season. Speed kills, and the man who once ran the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds will assuredly get a second chance elsewhere to find a consistent role.

The 2017 draft is very revealing. Regarding DL Solomon Thomas ( see above post) I religiously watched Stanford when he played there because I never missed a chance to watch CM play. After two full seasons of watching Stanford I did not know who the hell Thomas was until a game towards the end of the 2017 season where he made some plays. If he was an anonymous presence for those most part how the hell did he end up as the number third pick?

We here have talked about media hero WR John Ross for ages now. With the exception of a dual threat black QB nothing gets the juices going for the media than a very fast black wide receiver. They shoved John Ross so far down out throats they were insinuating he alone could turn the Bengals into contenders. Like that useless punk Tavon Austin, Ross is a classic case of a one trick speedster pony. Naturally these types get to hang on well past their expiration date. Meanwhile white speedsters like Andy Isabella and Scott Miller unfairly have to spend their time in the shade. I keep thinking there is a fear in the NFL of too many white speedsters dotting the NFL landscape.

So the underwhelming WR Corey Davis was picked 5th and bust Ross was chosen 9th. The only WR worth any salt in this draft was Chargers Mike Williams. He started his career slowly but had a very good season in 2019. And guess what? His timed 40 was 4.54. So all this jabber talking about the oh so important 40 yard dash is constantly being upended by evidence on the playing field.

One positive step. Last year an Ole Miss S ran the 40 at the combine in 4.29 seconds but was not drafted. Same goes for Utah's DB Javelin Guidry (who looks like another steroid candidate) who ran the 40 in 4.29 seconds as well this past combine. He too wasn't drafted. Nice to know a few brain cells remain. Straight line speed serves little purpose if you don't have agility and other football skills. The real question is why are these bums getting invited to the combine and I suspect it is to highlight black speed.
