2015 1st rounder being shopped:

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reports the Browns are shopping former first-round OL Cameron Erving.

The No. 19 overall pick in 2015, Erving has played multiple positions and struggled in all of them. He was competing for the right tackle job this year, but he went down with a calf injury last week. He likely would not have beaten out Shon Coleman either way. The Browns are also attempting to move Joe Haden and Brock Osweiler.

2015 3rd rounder cut:

Giants waived DE Owa Odighizuwa.

The move comes a day after Odighizuwa was hit with a four-game suspension for a PED violation. A third-round pick in 2015, Odighizuwa said he needed some time "away from the game" this offseason, but he eventually reported back to the Giants. Odighizuwa is talented enough to lock down a roster spot somewhere, but teams will have to feel comfortable with his off-field situation.

Haden will probably be released. He has a high salary, an injury history and in recent years played poorly.

Osweiler might be traded to a team for low draft pick compensation to a team that absorbs a small part of his huge salary.

Erving might be released or traded for another low level player.

One of Erving's fellow first rounders from just two years ago who's also a huge bust. Apparently the scouts and draft "experts" are so enamored by the size of sumos that they don't notice that most of them move like slugs:

Lions 2015 first-round OG Laken Tomlinson is on the roster bubble. That was the case before training camp, and it remains the case at the end of August. According to MLive, Tomlinson is behind Joe Dahl in the pecking order and fighting to be kept on as the final reserve lineman. Graham Glasgow and T.J. Lang will open the season as the starting guards for Detroit.

Unfortunately Tomlinson got traded to the niners for a fifth (!!) round pick. Will be a back-up unless injury happens - Beadles, Kilgore and Fusco are definite starters on the interior OL, but he'll be first up to fail should one of those three get injured as the rest of the niners OL depth is poor.

49ers waived/injured CB Will Redmond.

With no offense being meant to Redmond, he was a spectacular failure of a pick by ex-GM Trent Baalke. Redmond, who made only seven starts for Mississippi State, was coming off a torn ACL when Baalke made him the No. 68 overall pick of last year's draft. Redmond, like nearly all of Baalke's "redshirts," could never get healthy. He'll likely be released with an injury settlement when/if he gets healthy.

A 2015 third-rounder, Cooper never lived up to his draft status. He should resurface as a situational three-technique rusher.

Lions waived DB Alex Carter.

The No. 80 overall pick of the 2015 draft, injuries limited Carter to one game in two seasons. Drafted as a corner, he was converted to safety in May. Evidently the position switch didn't take. Carter has youth on his side. He turns 23 in October.

Facing charges from an alleged domestic violence incident in March of 2016, Hageman was placed on the commissioner's exempt list on Saturday. In a statement announcing the transaction, the organization said it decided "to move forward without Hageman ... after a thorough investigative process by local authorities." Hageman is likely looking at a lengthy suspension, and his NFL future is bleak.

The media had assured DWFs over and over that this pathetic clown had decided to turn his life around after several arrests and stinking it up on the field in Tampa after being the first tight end drafted in 2014. But a two-week layoff has proven to be too much for ASJ. What a dedicated professional athlete he must be:

Jets coach Todd Bowles said it's too early to tell if TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins will be active this week. Seferian-Jenkins is eligible to return from suspension, but is reportedly out of shape after his two-week layoff. With Jordan Leggett and Eric Tomlinson dealing with injuries, the Jets may be forced to play him despite his conditioning. Seferian-Jenkins looks likely to be on a snap count if active. He should be avoided as a Week 3 streamer.

Breshad Perriman (concussion) returned to Ravens practice on Monday. It gives him a shot to play on Thursday Night Football against the Dolphins. On the season, Perriman has caught just 4-of-18 targets for 26 scoreless yards.

Pro bowl (and all-pro) offensive linemen Taylor Lewan and Zack Martin were drafted not long later...

No doubt Robinson will be picked up. He may have had three horrendously bad seasons, but he still has the upside to be a hall of famer, seriously!

Robinson was lauded as a great prospect before the 2014 draft. It was inexplicable. He obviously had slow feet. He looked like he was in molasses. His combine performance showed this too.

Yet the analysts and the Rams thought he was great. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to some of their evaluations.

That writer ignores the fact that it is alot simpler to run fast in a straight line than to master blocking skills on an NFL level. The guy makes it sound like all-pro level blocking skills were just going to be developed by Robinson as a matter of course, no problem. Anyone could do it, sure.

Robinson performed poorly in the 3 cone and 20 ss. These measure quickness, agility and change of direction, more important for an offensive lineman than a 40 time.

Teams and the media overrate the 40 time, especially for positions such as the offensive line. How often does an offensive lineman run 40 yards down the field?

Can’t miss 2012 sumo prospect Greg Robinson just waived by the lions

The Rams passed on Jake Matthews to draft Greg Robinson. That was a stupid move.

Matthews has been solid for Atlanta and of course Robinson has been bad.

One of many high draft picks in recent years who turned out to be oh-so delicate:

Seahawks placed RB C.J. Prosise (ankles) on injured reserve, ending his season. Dealing with right ankle woes nearly all season, Prosise injured his left ankle in Seattle's Week 10 win over the Cardinals. It's the second straight year Prosise has landed on injured reserve, with a shoulder issue limiting him to six games as a rookie. In all, the 2016 third-rounder will head into 2018 having handled the ball just 64 times across 11 games. Prosise has had nary a healthy week. He'll have to earn his 53-man roster spot next summer.
