Peyton played well tonight. Watched the game just to see him and Brady Quinn. They didn't want to run Hillis but the once in a blue moon situation occurred and all of the blacks even the scrubs got injured so they had to play him. He did great. Got some tough yards a very big first down run. It was nice to watch. He'll be back to the bench next game for sure. I saw Jim Brown watching from a luxury suite with a cane so that means he's available, I'm surprised the Broncos didn't try to sign him at halftime.

Quinn threw for over 400 yards and really played well. The last drive ended when the always fumble fingered Kellen Winslow let a fouth down pass go through his hands to end the game. HA HA. I bet the Oakland Raider fans were seething watching this game. Quinn probably racked up more fantasy points then Jamarcus has all year.

Spin: Patrick Cobbs, Leonard Weaver, Peyton Hillis ... what do these three players have in common? You got it, one-week wonders who went right into the tank the following week. Oops, sorry, should've said "spoiler alert" first; we couldn't help but spill the beans on what happens to Hillis in Week 10.

Hey "bro" -- don't eat too many cheese steaks. You got problems. Micropenis?

Compared to the hatred that emanates from the Caste media, we are libs.

During the game one of the announcers said that Rodgers the Browns DL "destroyed" Peyton on a carry. Funny thing is that Rodgers was hurt on the play. So they showed it a couple of times and Hillis basically plowed threw him. Some destroyed! Anyway by the end of the game he was calling Payton the MVP after Cutler so at least Hillis won him over.

They interviewed Brandon Marshall after the game, he started with some blah blah about Obama and then said after a TD catch he was going to put on a glove that was half white and half black and raise his fist in the air like the black goofs that did that in the 1968 Olympics. It was going to be his symbol of the races coming together. I thought it was a little silly but not so bad. He also praised Hillis and said he had been telling the coach to let him run. He was also contrite about having dropped some passes. I forget is this guy a d--khead or a decent guy. He came off allright in the interview but you can never tell.

After he scored you could tell he was reaching down in his pants for something and Stokley and another white player stopped him from taking it out. Maybe Stokley thought he wasabout to take acelebratory leak.

Torain and Selvin Young will have to remain injured for Hillis to play anymore at tailback. He ran well enough and got a crucial first down on 4th and 1 with great effort, but the line never opened any holes for him to run through. It would have been great if he had been able to get to the open field once or twice. He didn't get to show his running skills, so everyone will still consider him a fullback and the "seventh team running back" as the play by play announcer referred to him at one point.

Peyton did real good considering the situation he was put in, with basically no reps at RB during practice. That 4th and 1 convertion was pure gold!

Also, props to Brandon Stokley for stopping Marshall from doing something stupid that would have drawn a penality and probably cost the broncos the game.

They call the torain injury a knee sprain, and Shanahan said it doesn't look good, a sprain means about 4-6 weeks recovery for a RB... So it's only Selvin young and his bum groin keeping Peyton from the starting job. Let's hope he gets reps during the long week.

will I go there? yes I will,

news are even better : from rotoworld.com

Ryan Torain-RB-BroncosNov. 7 - 1:31 am et

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports Broncos RB Ryan Torain is expected to be placed on injured reserve with what is thought to be a torn ACL in his left knee.
It's a shame. Torain was effective early in Thursday's game before suffering the injury. With Michael Pittman and Andrew Hall out for the season and Selvin Young clearly not recovered from his groin injury, the Broncos will be in the market for fresh legs. Fullback Peyton Hillis, recently activated P.J. Pope, and practice squad rookie Cory Boyd are the only healthy options at the moment.</font>

here are some quotes from this article http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/nov/06/broncos-re port-injuries-give-rookie-lb-woodyard/ :

The Broncos played the entire second half with fullback Peyton Hillis as a single setback. Denver also used Selvin Young early after he sat out three straight weeks with a groin strain. But Young re-injured the groin on a sweep in the second quarter and didn't return.

Hillis may be the long-term answer. Denver may have no choice, with Michael Pittman, Andre Hall and Anthony Alridge all on injured reserve and Young ailing.

"I felt like I picked up the pass protections pretty well and I ran the ball OK," Hillis said. "I could have done a little better but I'm rusty. I haven't done it in a long time. And I can only get better from here on out. (you think the guy can smell an opportunity??)"

Hillis also was a primary blocking back at Arkansas but did play some tailback.

If Mike Shanahan would have had his way he would have called a timeout just before the Broncos ran a crucial fourth-and-1 play with 3:58 remaining in the game because he didn't like how the Browns defense was aligned.

Instead, the Broncos couldn't because they had just called a timeout at the end of the previous play and couldn't call another one. So instead running back Peyton Hillis plowed his way through tackles for two yards and a first down.

The Broncos scored seven plays later for the winning touchdown.

"I would have called a timeout, but it was a great second effort where he got the yards, but we would have called a timeout to get them in a better play," Shanahan said. "He shouldn't have got the yard, but with his size and power he was able to persevere and get the first down."

"I had to get that yard," Hillis said. "I'm glad it worked out."

On draftdaddy they had comments made by Denny Green claiming the broncos should not use Peyton as a weapon because he was a limited athlete!!!

This article in the Denver Post is all about race but never considers the Caste aspect:

Hillis adds dimension

In Peyton Hillis, the Broncos may have the next Great White Hope.

At a time when America has crossed racial barriers by electing Barack Obama as its next president, Hillis can skip over the same line, from the opposite direction, by becoming a rare NFL starting tailback who is white.

Hillis hasn't much considered the deeper meaning of a white man playing tailback, not when he's so concerned with relearning the nuances of the position. But he understands the story.

"I won't mind because I know what I can do," Hillis said. "I will be successful at it. I have that mind-set. I think if I do get a whole week of practice at tailback, people will see a lot of difference in me."

Maybe the next time Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall celebrates multicultural unity after a touchdown, he can pull out a left-handed glove for Obama and a right-handed glove for Hillis.

A fullback by trade, Hillis could be the Broncos' starting tailback next Sunday at Atlanta, where the Falcons have the league's No. 1 rushing offense. Should Hillis start ahead of Selvin Young, who has been hampered the past month with a groin injury, he'd be the first white tailback to be so honored since St. Louis' Brian Leonard filled in for an injured Steven Jackson early last season.

Hillis is like Leonard and San Diego's Jacob Hester in that they are white, fullback/halfback/H-back hybrids with a heavy emphasis on fullback.

"That's what seems to be happening," Hillis said. "Right now, Selvin and I are pretty much all we've got, and the good coaches that we have, they'll work with us and they're not going to steer us wrong. They're going to do what's best for the team."

Where have you gone, John Cappelletti? In 1974, he became the last white tailback drafted in the first round. The last white tailback to have a 1,000-yard rushing season was Craig James in 1985.

Jim Taylor was the last white running back to lead the NFL in rushing, in 1962. Taylor, by the way, was a fullback.

Leonard, listed as a fullback, is the last white tailback to have a 100-yard rushing performance, in Game 5 last season against Arizona.

In 2004, Carolina's Nick Goings became the last white tailback to lead his team in rushing with 821 yards. The Broncos haven't been led by a white rusher since Jim Jensen topped a backfield that included Jon Keyworth and Rob Lytle with 476 yards in 1980. Jensen was a fullback. Lytle, a tailback, never rushed for more than 408 yards in his seven Broncos seasons. Joe Dudek had two nice games for the Broncos in 1987, but two is all he played.

Maybe, if more white tailbacks were more productive, there would be more white tailbacks.

Leonard and Hester were exceptional tailbacks in college. Hillis was an All-America tailback in high school and stayed at the position as a true freshman at Arkansas. But then his Razorbacks recruited rushers named Darren McFadden and Felix Jones and, sure enough, Hillis became a sophomore fullback.

He remained in the blocking slot until the Broncos' last two remaining tailbacks, Ryan Torain and Young, suffered first-half injuries Thursday night in Cleveland. Hillis finished with eight carries for only 24 yards, but the Broncos would not have rallied for a 34-30 win without him.

Hillis started the Broncos' decisive, late-game drive from their 20 with a 10-yard run. Later, on fourth-and-1 from the Broncos' 45-yard line, Hillis broke a tackle to turn what would have been a drive-ending, game-losing, 2-yard loss into a drive-sustaining, 2-yard gain.

"I feel like I can do really well at it, honestly," Hillis said. "It's just that Thursday night I was a little bit rusty. It's been a while since I've been back there at tailback. Every week I'm put back at that position I'll be a lot better at it, I promise you that. It's going to depend on how long I can fit the position, or how long they would want me there."

The Broncos will likely sign another tailback Monday, but whoever he is won't be ready to play in Atlanta. The league could well have one of the most appealing billboard matchups in sports: The No. 1 rushing team in the world vs. the Great White Hope.

That's where Hillis is VERY wrong. The old "best for the team" jargon is NFL code for replacing whites with blacks.

This writer, much like 99% of writers, is your typical blind idiot. Too irresponsible and uprofessional to do the research, and then have the backbone to point it out.

"Great White Hope," yeah, that's also NFL code for: "this white nobody stepped in and is a way better player than any black we can find....lets try to make excuses as to why he's actually do well." After all, you wouldnt want white america to see one of their own running over their black superhuman heros.

I wonder if google will sensor this post?Edited by: Thrashen

Broncos sign fullback Haynes
By Mike Klis
The Denver Post

It appears the Broncos are prepared to finish the season with Peyton Hillis and Selvin Young at tailback.

Following a running back tryout Monday at their Dove Valley practice facility, the Broncos signed fullback Alex Haynes, a former teammate of Brandon Marshall and Matt Prater at Central Florida.

Haynes, 26, has been with the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers. He appeared in 10 games for the Panthers last season, gaining 3 yards on three carries.

Haynes will back up Spencer Larsen at fullback while Hillis, a fullback by trade, will stay at tailback along with Young and P.J. Pope, who was promoted from the practice squad last week.

The Broncos have been thin at tailback following season-ending injuries to Michael Pittman, Andre Hall and Ryan Torain. Young has just one carry the past four games because of a groin injury.

The Broncos moved fullback Hillis to tailback last Thursday in a 34-30 win against Cleveland. Hillis and Young will be the Broncos' tailbacks in their game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome.

for those of you who've not yet had a chance to see Peyton's big receiving day, a Bronco fan uploaded some highlights on YouTube.

take special note of his Leonard Leap over a defensive back on one play, and his incredibly soft hands on another.

to understate, he is impressive.

The Broncos signed luggage stealer Tatum Bell today, who couldn't even make it as a backup with the Lions this season.

Hillis won't play. He'll get a few catches from the backfield and that's it. The Broncos will air it out before they let Hillis tote the rock.

Did Hillis get a FB to lead the way for him in his 8 carry for 24 yard performance, or was he in the tricky single set backfield? In the NFL it is much easier to have a FB set the way for you, so I was just wondering. I don't know maybe a black FB wouldn't mind leading the way for Hillis, after all they already have a black man to lead the way for our nation. Go Hillis! Run for 150 yards on around 20 carries!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Tough,

he was the single back in a 4-wide receiver offense in last week's game.

also, the Broncos have another white fullback on the roster who is an excellent blocker. his name is Spencer Larsen, and he started over Hillis a couple of times already this season because the coaching staff praised his exceptional blocking. hopefully, the Broncos will have 3 white backs in their starting backfield.

i have a dream today!

I've read on fantasy sites that Tatum Bell could get "15 or 16 carries if he's in shape" this weekend. What an example of how desperate the Caste System is to keep things in order; taking a never impressive bum off the street and expecting him to carry the ball that many times in a regular season game only a few days later. I'll be amazed if Hillis gets to carry the ball on any kind of regular basis.

I wonder with half a season to go will Hillis lose 20 to 30 pounds and play at a faster weight. Or will he be told to keep eating double servings so that he can be the running fullback that Denver "needs".

Bell is not in football shape, according to Shanahan. Hillis should get his carries, let's hope he makes the best out of them!
