Platov won by kayo in the 6th. I heard it was a bodyshot that stopped Oloukun.

"Heavyweight Oleg Platov (29-1, 22 KOs) won by sixth round TKO over Gbenga Oloukun (18-6, 11 KOs). Platov dropped Oloukun in rounds one, two and five and got the TKO at 2:27 of the sixth."
This is a good result because Oloukun isn't easy to knock down or stop, he's gone the distance with Helenius and Pulev.
Thanks parody!Parody said:Here's the video for download:
The Art of Bodypunching by Oleg Platov
Oloukun has never been dominated like that before. Two counts from body punches in round one, I lost track of how many after that. He was up at the count 10 from a bodypunch it the 6th, but the ref mercifully stopped it.
The blood was going into platov's eye..whiteathlete33 said:Yeah!! Thanks alot!! What exactly happened in the Williams-Platov fight? I'm watching it now and Platov was throwing bombs at Williams until that cut. In the second round Platov walks away and then falls down. It wasn't from a punch though.

I'm bumping this to see if anyone knows what is up with Platov now. He hasn't fought since dominating Oloukun last June.
Anybody know what's up with him?

He has terrible management, same guy gets Sam Peter fights but ignores Platov.
It's sad to see excellent heavyweight talent going to waste.
Yea! It's semply affirmative action in the heavyweight division.Parody said:759852372 said:That was the only time I've seen Platov fight and I was really impressed.

<div>Non-white fighters like Peter, Chambers, Ruiz and Austin are fixtures in any title contention talk.</div>
<div>And top white fighters like Ustinov, Dimiternko and Platov get pasted over time and time again..</div>

Right, but losing fights dosen't hurt nonwhite fighters,.whiteathlete33 said:lost said:Yea! It's semply affirmative action in the heavyweight division.Parody said:759852372 said:That was the only time I've seen Platov fight and I was really impressed.

To be fair, Dimitrenko was in an eliminator bout with Eddie Chambers and unfortunately he lost. Otherwise he would have fought Wladimir already.
That explains it, another IRON CURTAIN against the Eastern Europeans. LOST knows way more than me, but I know there are several Eastern Euros waiting in line to take a crack at the Klitschkos. Yet, the Jewish-controlled boxing bodies like to grant unlimited chances to guys like Brewster, HAYE, Harrison, PETER, RUIZ, Rahman, Solis, Arreola, etc... to maintain a "DIVERSE" and COMPETITIVE picture.lost said:Right, but losing fights dosen't hurt nonwhite fighters,.whiteathlete33 said:To be fair, Dimitrenko was in an eliminator bout with Eddie Chambers and unfortunately he lost. Otherwise he would have fought Wladimir already.lost said:Yea! I like the fact that Dimitrenko lost just once and is far from a world title shot. He might face a rising Robert Helenius, it'll be a great fight but a loss will further weaken Dimitrenko's chances. Unless he finally gets to face either Klitschkos, he should at least be facing more of the overrated non-white heavyweights.whiteathlete33 said:I like the fact that Vitali gave Sosnowski a title shot though there are more deserving white fighters out there like Dimitrenko, Platov, and Boystov.
IMO, Sosnowski was more deserving than guys like Austin.whiteathlete33 said:I like the fact that Vitali gave Sosnowski a title shot though there are more deserving white fighters out there like Dimitrenko, Platov, and Boystov.
Right! White fighters can lose just one match, and their out forever. But not so wiyh nonwhites.j41181 said:I like the fact that Dimitrenko lost just once and is far from a world title shot. I get the feeling Platov and Boystov are having injury issues.
