Well, well, well...looks like (for now) that ND made a good
choice in firing Willingham. Notre Dame goes on the road and
throttles a ranked opponent (Pittsburgh) while Tyrone's new team
(Washington) goes on the road against an unranked opponent (Air Force)
and gets beat. PFFFT. Kind of embarrasing for our multi-culti media masters. Let's see how they handle it.

They'll handle it by continuing to ignore Willinghams incompetence. You hardly hear anything about him now as it is. All those affirmative action assistant coaches in the NFL but they cant find any that can succeed with the college I-A teams with their affirmative action rosters!

What a difference a (competent) coach makes!



For anyone who watched ND's performance against Pitt, the difference
between this year's ND team and last year's is like night and
day. The Domers look crisp, refreshed, poised, and -- dare I say
it -- well-coached, for a change.



Brady Quinn will flourish in Weis's system. He looks like a
legitimate star, and all it took was hiring a head coach who has a
clue.



Ditto for speedster / toughguy Tommy Zbikowski. Weis's New
England Patriot offenses pioneered the use of great athletes
(whatever their natural position) in creative offensive sets.
Something tells me that they will find a way to utilize "Tommy Z" on
offense this season (he was a quarterback in high school).

Are they for real?A big yes would be the answer after beating Michigan on the road today.They continue to amaze people.Good coaching and players that are hungry.They should have a very good year despite one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

They're also fun to watch when Quinn is throwing passes to Samardzija or Fasano and Zbikowski is picking off passes and returning punts as well as tackling everything in site. ABC anouncers made a point of talking about Zbikowski's speed mentioning he ran a 10.4 100m.

Notre Dame certainly looks real to me. They are exciting to watch again too! Keep it up is all I can say.

I can't believe how much whiter ND got since they got rid of Tyrone. Weren't they almost completely black a year ago?

They were about as white last year as they are this year. New coaches are stuck with their predecessor's recruiting classes for better or worse unless they want to play mostly freshman. The big difference so far this year at Notre Dame is they are better coached.

Will an NFL guy like Weiss recruit as many white kids as
Willingham did?

At least Weiss is featuring some of the white kids in the Notre Dame offense so that is a good sign.

I figured they were the same except the freshmen, but it does seem like they feature or at least are starting more white players this year. Anybody know? I've really only watched highlights this year to base my opinion on.

I believe that Weis may return ND to its position as a dominant,
almost-all-White powerhouse. Weis is a ND alum, and the football
team was lily-White while was a student; he knows that White teams can
be stellar.



Another good sign: One of his first orders of business as the head
coach was to "clean house" -- he let the players and recruits know that
excellence, hard work, and discipline (on the field and in the
classroom) were expected, and that anyone who didn't want to be there
would politely be shown the door. This seems to be an indication
that ND is looking for a particular type of player, i.e. the
prototypical All-American White jock. (Just like the good old
days....)



And, by the way, ND is getting some early commitments from some
spectacular White high school players. Traditionally, ND mined
the great White talent found in Western PA, Ohio, and South Jersey, and
I think they will expand on that trend under Weis.

Riley certainly didn't. But that had no influence on the teams
they coached.

What is happening at ND is a good sign, but don't get your hopes too high. To expand on the topic though, I think the worldwide announcement last year that ND had blacks as 55% of their roster may have something to do with it. I am sure some old alums made some noise about it and I'm sure this isn't lost on Weis. Even if this is just my conspiracy theory and not fact, I'm glad to see what is happening there.

I personally know 2 ND alumni, and both of them are disgusted that
their teams have, in recent years, resembled FSU and Miami more than
the classic ND teams of old. Notre Dame alumni are VERY
conservative, and they don't seem to share the Southern football fans
utter (and inexplicable) fascination with black athletes. I agree
that we should wait and see, but the early returns are encouraging.

"Southern ball coach" in every sense of the word -- he loves the
"plantation" model of a White coach leading his legion of black
"af-letes." Riley is a product of the NBA league-brand, which is
pro-black from top to bottom. The same influence doesn't apply to
every college football program.

Pat Riley? You think he played in the 1950's or something? He played in the 60-70's and those teams WERE integreted. With a few whites!

Notre Dame lost a tough oneto the Michigan State Black Spartans. Brady Quinn threw for almost 500 yards. Jeff Samardjiza had 6 catches and 3 TDs. Matt Shelton (who may be the fastest receiver in I-A) had 6 for 86, and TE Anthony Fasano had 7 receptions for 92 yards. Notre Dame came from way back to tie it only to lose in OT.

What a heart breaker!Notre Dame is for real regardless of the loss.They are fun to watch.Maybe some of these kids can help pave the way or N.Dame can get back to playing more Irish and white athletes period!I am becoming a fan of the Fighting Irish!!

the saftey for notre dame (number 9) is a blazer, did you guys see him close the distance in that long run that the michigan state receiver made, i mean if it was another 5 yards he would have caught him, that guy can fly!!!

Pat Riley played at Kentucky from 1964-65 to 1966-67. There were NO blacks in the SEC at that time. Riley would have played with and against blacks in high school, being from New York. I remember Riley as a 6-3 forward who jumped center. Kentucky's loss to Texas Western in the 1966 NCAA Championship game is a favorite moment for the sports media.

ND does have a terrible starting running back. He's just another overblown scat-back that often goes backwards. Thats all good though because it forces ND to throw the ball to it's white recievers.

I love that safety #9 Tom Zysomething. He's a golden gloves boxer and tough as nails and hits like a truck.

It was nice to see Notre Dameput a whuppinon Tyrone's boys today.J. Samardzija had a great game.Good to see some white kids shine. The Huskies black QB was being compared to Michael Vick when he reached for the pylon on a TD run.It was obvious to me and the guys watching that his foot stepped out of bounds but the announcers acted like they didn't see it. Fortunately the play was challenged and over turned. I kept saying, " How could they not see that?' Edited by: Bart

Notre Dame WR Jeff Samardjiza had another huge game today against Washington, catching 8 for 164 and a 52 yard TD. He has 6 scores now already. He's 6-5, wonder what the Caste System's excuses will be for keeping this guy from the next level after his senior year next season.


Charlie Weis's squadbeat Ty Willingham's team decisively. It was the least white Washington team I've ever seen, about half black and half Samoan, just three whites on the o-line and a blocking backand one LB starting.

Yeah Don, I have noticed how much blacker the Huskies have gotten over the last few years. It is sad to see these western states going that way. Let hope Willingham doesn't last long and thing reverse their course up there.
