Jack Nicklaus used to be credited with winning 20 majors. I believe they included a couple of National Amateur titles or something, which were once considered majors. The total was dropped to 18 at some point. I wasn't paying attention, but was it perhaps just before the Chosen One was about to launch his much balleyhooed pro career?

I also remember vividly that Nicklaus was chasing Bobby Jones' record of 13 majors. Now, however, Jones is only given credit for 7 majors! Jones was also credited for a long time with being the only golfer in history to win the Grand Slam. Again, this isn't mentioned any more (in fact, Jones himself- who was widely considered the greatest golfer of all time when I was a kid- rarely is mentioned any more either, except perhaps as an architect of golf courses).

I can't help but feel this has been done to make his Highness seem like he has had no true competitors.

You're correct; Jones is never even referenced in modern golf"¦other than when being compared to Woods in terms of success on one of the ESPN's cute little spreadsheets. I guarantee that every single human being in America has heard of TiGIRL Woods"¦but maybe less than 5% (all older people) have heard of Bobby Jones.

This methodology of conveniently omitting the accomplishments of successful white men, especially in sports where "blacks"Â￾ like Tiger are ranked #1, or artificially dominate the sport like in football and basketball, is the essence of the Caste System in sports"¦and a mirror image of Cultural Marxism in modern politics / history / religion.

Bobby Jones died about 15 years before I was born. If I hadn't done personal research on the history of golfing greats, I certainly wouldn't recognize the name. We are being comprehensively erased.

Nicklaus and Bobby Jones should still be rankedabove Tiger Woods. Competition was much better then. Jones had the legendary statusequivalent only to Ruth's in baseball
