Here is another pro sprinter that has been Canada's fast
man for 3 of the last 4 years. He is also the first white
man to run two wind aided sub 10's in the same day.He
has incredible potential and is a great guy.Very humble.

Nic ran a race a week ago in Canada and won in in a time
of 6.72 in the 60 meters.Macro is going to concentrate
more on the outdoor races this year.He will race indoors
a few more times.Look for him to light it up in the
summer time in Europe.

Macro raced again in Canada today and won another 60
meters in a time of 6.68.He was almost last out of the
blocks but came back to win easily.Nic will now
concentrate on getting ready for the outdoor season
which is only a few months away.Macrozonaris says that
he is injury free and looking forward to running outdoors.Maybe this will be the year that he gets his
first legal sub 10 in the 100.He has had 2 sub 10's in
the same track meet but the wind was over the legal
amount of +2 mph.Good luck Macro!

Macrozonaris has moved his training camp down to Florida
for the outdoor season coming up in a couple of months.
He will be working with the Coach of the Florida Gators
who has coached 15 - 20 of the best sprinters over the
years. He also will be coached by the very intelligent
Dan Phaff. Dan really knows how to get that little bit
of extra speed out of anyone. He will help to correct any
flaws that Nic might have with his style. At 24 years of
age,Nic knows he probably has about 5-6 good years left!
This is the perfect time to take it to the world class
level.Macro will stay also keep his long time coach
Daniel St.Hillaire.Good luck Macro.

I don't know much about the guy, but I believe he will get the under 10 second run this year. If not this year, he will still get it before he retires.

I didn't see the race where he ran 10.03 in Mexico City, but in the report I read on the Internet, it said he was looking back cause he was so surprised he was ahead of the Americans. If he would've just ran straight through, he'd have been under 10 for sure. Also, Shirvington ran his 10.03 against the wind. Another guy, Victor Bryzgin (Russia) ran a 10.03 into a strong wind. It's weird, it's like the track gods just don't want a whitey to get through. Pietro Mennea ran a 10.01 in Mexico City. .01! That's a bat of an eyelash.

Those are good points freedom. There have been other
russians that ran that same time from a long time ago.
Don't forget Borzov who's p.b. is a 10.07 I believe.Also
Christie Van Wyk ran a 10.09 a couple of years ago.Matt
Shirvington ran multiple times in under 10.10 but never
quite got over the hump.Nagel has run a 10.13 and also
a 6.48 in the 60.He has the speed.I think it is a total
mental/psychological block.It has to happen.Don't forget
the all time best by a white in the 100 is Marian
Worinin of Poland who ran a 10.00 flat.Armin Harry of
Germany also ran right in that range. It will happen and
man will I be happy when it does.It is so long over
due and one of the last big stereotypes not to be broke.
Whites have won golds in the olympics at all of the other
distances over the last 30 years with the exception of
the 100.Another name to watch is Lukasz Chyla and Dusty
Stamer.Macrozonaris also obiously has the talent to do
it.If you get a chance, check out his website at

I will get a pic of Van Wyk for you freedom.Macro ran
a race in Mexico yesterday and finished 2nd in a time
of 10.34.Not too bad but he has a long way to go.He ran
his p.b. of 10.03 down in Mexico just 2 years ago.I don't
want to see him start going down hill like Shirvington
has.

Macrozonaris has had a bunch of nagging injuries that
have forced him to pull out of several meets. He has not
been healthy in around 2-3 months now.He seems to finally
be back on the right track. He will be running 2 or 3
races in the next month to start getting back into form
for the World Championships in August.Good luck to him!

Nic is still suffering from a very bad groin injury that
has hampered his training for a few months. He will try to
run in the Canada National Championships on Friday. If he
can bear the pain,he will try to become Canada's fastest
man for the 3rd time in 4 years!Good luck to him and I hope
he can get back to full strength/health.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that Macro was
picked to be on the World Championship Team for Canada
along with P.Browne.The bad news is that he finished 3rd
in the Canada Nat'l Championships.Nic has not been healthy
for the majority of the year. The great thing is that he
competed in 3 rounds last weekend and had no pain.He will
now try to get some intensive training & a few track meets
in to try to prepare for Helsinki. It is a almost impossible
task since he is not in even close to peak condition but
at least he will have a go at it.Good luck to him.

The truth of the matter is that there are so few speedy white sprinters. The few who do make it to the national level, are not winning. Nic is a 10.03 guy, that is not overly impression when you consider the WR is 9.77. I'd love to see some white speedsters but it doesn't appear they are really out there. No I don't think they are being held out or back or anything. They simply don't exist.

In the 50's & 60's white sprinters held world records as
the fastest sprinters in the world. They were already
competing against blacks for around 30+ years.Sometimes
the black sprinters were the fastest, other times the white
sprinters were the world record holders. It wasn't until the
civil rights movement in all areas, that they started to
dissapear. If you notice, most of the good ones were from
here when we used to have as many white sprinters as black
sprinters. Now you don't see that any more.I've been told
that what Wariner is doing is impossible. That is a bunch
of b.s. Even Coach Clyde Hart has said repeatedly that
color has nothing to do with it.When the US starts having
white sprinters like in the past, they will start to be
competetive again.Trust me on that. The gap is not as
great as the media & everyone else makes it out to be.
