Pats start 7 whites on offense (it was actually 8 on the field, as Develin was in the game, but wasn’t listed) and 2 on defense (Gregory/Ninkovich), 3 if you count DT Chris Jones.

With 4 catches and 9 yards, Edelman will eclipse 100 catches and 1,000-yards.

EDIT: Edelman has achieved his 1st 1,000-yard season!

Huge congrats to Edelman; his achieving a thousand yard season has to be the most pleasant surprise of the season. He was unwanted as a free agent until the Pats finally signed him dirt cheap for one year, will be interesting to see what happens this off-season.

Those pesky White WRs and TEs are usually indispensable to a team's success once they finally get an opportunity.

I was thinking about this in regards to Kris Durham. Is Durham the least productive white receiver to get a season full of starts in a long time? Usually the white guy has to put up very good to great numbers to even think about keeping his job but Durham--while not horrible--has very pedestrian numbers. I can't think of another white receiver that was on the field for so many snaps with a similar output. About 40 receptions and about 500 yards.

I'm so happy for Hartline proving all the skeptics wrong. His 2nd 1000 yard season. It's a shame the Dolphins lost and he got hurt. I didn't get to watch the game. Hope it's not a serious injury.

I'm even happier for Julian Edleman. The guy is as good as they come. I'm starting to put him into the Nelson/Decker Category. It's great to see as Welker is slowly declining and we need more young guys to step up and take his place on top. New England is looking good so far but man is the weather nasty.

Not 100 percent sure but I think so. This season we have four whites surpassing 1,000 yards, Decker, Nelson, Hartline, and Edelman. Cameron came pretty close but no cigar.

It's worth mentioning that with another 31 receiving yards today, Nelson will surpass his career high.

A lot of it is the inaccurate Stafford constantly forcing it to Calvin Johnson, as none of the other Detroit receivers and tight ends have done anything other than Fauria's bushel full of short TD receptions. With Schwartz & Co. most likely gone, it would be surprising if Durham gets another chance to start.

Yeah Mel Kiper or someone like that has the Lions taking a receiver in the first round. Like the team with Megatron needs someone else to suck up a bunch of targets. In a way Durham is a good compliment in that he doesn't have to be targeted a whole bunch of times or else he starts sulking. I'm sure he's a good blocker too.

Speaking of Fauria, he really should be a wide out, it's another one of those big White guy can't be a receiver where else can we play him? They don't like to play him too much as a regular TE, the supposed knock is he can't block, but I think it's more due to appeasing Pettigrew, then Fauria's blocking skills. He has started the last couple of games with Pettigrew injured.

Just a few weeks ago. This place was attacking Peyton Manning and the "Bolshevik Broncos." All because a Denver loss would help New England.

I suspect most of the people on here are really Patriots fans and hate Peyton, Brees, and Roethlesberger because of that.

You can commend Manning's accomplishments while admitted that Broncos aren't a very white friendly team.

this was the case with Kevin Walter. Schaub forced the ball too much to Andre Johnson, although not as bad, targeted his tight ends more. Walter was close to 1k one season but mostly used as a blocker.

Durham needs more targets. The ball needs to be spread around. It's no different than Peterson, record numbers but not much to show for it. Not the best strategy to win games, although less noticeable w receivers because its a passing league

At this point I'd say Edelman is the Patriots MVP. He basically carries the team with Gronk out, Hernandez locked up, and Welker gone and Amendola always injured.

Considering how piss poor about all the NFL is in employing White guys I certainly support the Broncos over just about anyone else then perhaps NE and Philly or Green Bay maybe San Diego. A while back one of our erstwhile posters devised a point system for each position which weighted the ball handling positions higher then the o-line spots (for example). I think that is a good way to look at it. If Denver is starting two White wide receivers and a White TE I'm not that upset about who the right guard is. I'd prefer the NE Patriots, but failing that then the Broncos are a good watch for me.

I root for Drew Brees over white friendly teams. Only time I root against him is if hes playing an elite QB like Rodgers.

Drew Brees is an excellent QB. I hate him. That stupid zulu dance he does with his team before games in the Katrina dome is embarrassing. Brees looks like a friggin accountant with his thinning hair and slight build. How utterly ridiculous is it to have a guy like that trying to be the hip hop jungle leader of a band of nubian mercenaries.

At least his agent has had the good sense to get him to take over the comfort fit jeans commercials from Favre.
