Yeah, that "receiving fullback" as John Madden was so eager to label him repeatedly tonight, looked darn good running the ball!

First I have to give credit where credit is due. That Sporels guy is the best RB that San Diego has. He played an incrediable game for his stature and weight.

Now onto Hester, caught his series of plays toward the end of the game while tearing up a slab of Famous Dave's Baby Back Ribs.

He looked explosive and had great speed bursts. Its good to know a guy besides Sporels and LT there is another back who knows how to run. I hope he gets more chances in the playoffs.

With so many teams going with multiple-Rb attacks, it makes you wonder why all teams don't go for a "thunder and lightning" approach. Guys like Hester, Hillis, and Eckel would make great complements to faster scat backs. We know that Hillis is capable of being a feature back, though.

And for small triumphs, the Eagles have used Eckel as the RB in garbage time and short yardage since acquiring him mid-season. I'm not necessarily "happy", as he could easily spell Brian Westbrook for a play or two here or there, but 8 carris for a white runner is significant, regardless of when they occur.

I love watching the Cowboys lose, but I feel bad for Jason Witten. He's got the heart of a lion (not of the Detroit variety) playing through injuries like he did. A Pro Bowl well deserved for him.

If you watched Jacob Hester catch and run the ball at the end of the Bronco-Charger game today you could definitely see this guy has great "football speed". He has an elite burst and made some great cutbacks when not much looked to be there. And the guy finishes runs like a beast just about every time.

I was very impressed with his ability to make something happen when the Broncos were pissed knowing they had lost out on the Playoffs and the Chargers were just going to keep running Hester to use up the clock. The guy could be a stud if he was allowed more carries.

Hester "AND" Hillis could both certainly be featured tailbacks; I don't think Eckel is good enough to be the "main guy" on most teams though, but should be more a complimentary change of pace guy.

I'm extremely pleased with what happened to Dallas today. Sure, I feel bad for Witten and Romo, but watching that disgusting creature Jerry Jones get his comeuppance is priceless. Well, you keep selling your soul to thugs and trobulemakers, this is what you get and you truly deserve it. You reap what you sow, it's that simple.

Jerry Jones is one of the biggest caste-clowns around, and it's good to see that his super black majority team will miss the playoffs. I was also very happy to see other black-heavy teams stink throughout the season. JAC, CIN, CLE, KC, and SEA immediately come to mind.

I went to nfl.com to see Hester's TD. NFL.com pretty much shows every significant play - certainly scoring plays. San Diego scored 52 points - LT had 3 rushing TDs, Sproles and Hester had one. Every TD in the game was shown (even the last one)except one. Take a guess.

Looks like McDrab's defense won another game for him yet again. Most posters on this site can throw five/ten yard passes and for the most part, that's all the Eagles need him to do. Now I have to root for the Vikings next weekend to knock the Great one out. It's pretty bad when I want Tavaris Jackson to beat McDrab, but oh well.

BTW, it appeared to me that many players on loosing teams kind of shifted down into second gear, looking for the showers and a vacation. There were a lot of missed tackles, passes, blocks from the darker hued players, oh wait that's basic play for those affletes. Edited by: WHITE NOISE

Haha, actually, I think Jerry Jones is THE biggest caste-clown (in terms of NFL ownership) of them all. His Cowboy teams have been making me sick for nearly two decades. Watching that miniature, fake-tanned reptile squirm this season made it all worthwhile.

The funniest newcomer to the Thugboys this season was not Pacman Jones, but rahter, the horrid WR Roy Williams. Williams and Owens (dubbed the 'best WR combo in football') have been awesomely average. Witten is the only receiving threat that can create seperation.

Oh well, I guess it's back to the drawing board for Jerry and gang (literally, the gang).Edited by: Thrashen

I dont think Sproles is the best RB they have on the team. He is definetly talented, but I think hes a change of pace runner and a receiving threat out of the backfield more so than a every down true runningback. With the decline of LT(even though he has looked a little better the past few weeks)I think Jacob Hester is probably the best RB on the team. Hester combined with Sproles would be a great duo. I don't think Sproles would hold up getting a majority of carries for a whole season. It is a shame I haven't been able to see much of Hester run except for garbage time and situations where you know its a running play. In college he was great, against SEC defenses, which the media claims to be the best in college football.

The fact that Hester looked really good last night should remind people of how well he ran in the pre-season.

Sproles is too small to be an every down back. LT probably still has at least one season left as the starter, maybe more. Hester has to keep making the most of his opportunities, ala Peyton Hillis. LT had been very durable until this season, maybe now he'll continue to have injury setbacks.Tomlinson had been hinting about asking out of San Diego after the season, but now that they've righted the ship that appears unlikely. Philip Rivers is good enough now to carry the offense, which makes it easier for any runner to get good yardage.

Sproles is even smaller than Woodhead yet he is on a roster. He gets a chance to play. Woodhead is faster than Sproles. Another double standard in today's NFL.

Yep. Sproles is an excellent athlete and RB, BUT there is no way in hell that a white man with a similar physique would play in the NFL. No way.

In a sense, the worst thing for Hester was that great 3 TD game by LT. That will buy LT many, many more games next year. LT is finished. His body has worn out from the years of abuse, and notwithstanding last nights game, he no longer plays at his former great level. Hester will be relegated to a FB position who gets a few carries in garbage time.

Brian Leonard will not see any time at all next year with Steven Jackson once again getting 1000 yards. Who knows what is in store for him. Probably "Bulk up. Play FB."

Peyton Hillis has no chance b/c that team will probably walk the line of "we desperately need RB's! Look at how many we needed to use last year due to injury! We even used this big white guy to run the ball!"

That is very cynical, BUT there will come another time when a situation exists where a Hillis type RB will NOT get injured, and that RB will finish the season healthy and get plenty of yards. He will be seen as the obvious starter. I am convinced that if Hillis did not get injured, he would have finished out the season as the starter AND he would have had more yards/TDs than his former teammate McFadden.
