The only way that Cousins has a chance to take the job for next season is in the unlikely scenario that Shanahan is retained. After Shanny is canned, Snyder will hunt for a coach who will bring out the "greatness" in Gremlin.

It will be interesting if Shanahan lands with the Houston Texans, who supposedly have interest in him, if they just don't end up drafting Clowney and somehow pry Cousins away from the Redskins.

Just curious cause I don't follow college football that closely, who was "the last guy who tried to take my job" that you're referring to?

Block from the backs are never called anymore... The screen pass to Moreno to get the 1st and goal had a pretty obvious one.

kind of nervous about them picking Clowney, where does he wind up, the opposite side of Watt as a 3-4 end? or as a 3-4 olb? which some are speculating he take Brooks Reed spot, saying he lacks "upside" and is mediocre, I guess because of lack of sack numbers, but he has played well, and hasn't rushed the passer as much as the other olb, and Watt is getting most of the sacks. The afflete olb on the other side is 23 and put up 6 sacks, not sure if they go away from him, the other 3-4 end has done well but is 32, not sure where they see Clowney fitting, and seeing him play this year I don't know if he is worth number 1.

on espn they showed an afflete return either a kick or punt, i forget, for a big gain, I forget if it was a td or close, but they show all the blocks in the back, call them out and laugh about how they aren't called. Edelman takes one back, one block in the back its called back.

that play might cost me my fantasy playoff game in yahoo with my all White roster since Woodhead hasn't lit it up, and the other guy has Ball, who had -1 rushing yards before that.

with Cousins, you could see in college that he had all the qualities and skills to be a top starting NFL qb

Yeah, Ryan Matthews is finally showing why he was drafted high, He is having good to great year running the ball. Which means less opportunities for Woody. For whatever its worth, Ryan looks more White than black. He also does not speak with that affeletic accent. Woody will still be factor with the season going forward. BTW, their a lot of pale faces on the Chargers. Wouldn't mind them ruining DWFs/affeletic dreams in the playoffs.

San Diego wins. Looks like Denver really missed Welker.

I'll take San Diego over Baltimore and Miami any day. They've got pale playmakers on both sides of the ball and I want Rivers to prove how good he really is.

In the end, I'm hoping for an Eagles vs Pats whitey bowl-

That's something I've been meaning to bring up.

I have nothing against the "one drop" rule...but in sports, it hurts us. For all we know, people like Ryan Mathews, Jimmy Graham, Kenny Stills or (insert any other mulatto) are getting their athletic ability from their white side. But they still count as black athletes, even though a lot of them are probably more than half white.

People still identify them as black. The only reason they're allowed to prosper in the league is because they're black.

Thomas Keiser picks off Manning!

If he is allowed to develop/play, I can see him being a 10 sack/year guy in the near future.

Bront Bird is another guy to look for in a couple years. He could be another Scott Shanle/Ben Leber type player if given the opportunity (Solid starter, team leader that can hang around for a few years). I think he started the season opener in place of Teo, and had something like 15 tackles. Of course that wasn't enough to retain the starting job, as the coaching staff prefers Teo's 2-3 tackles per game average.

Washington Redskins QB RGIII extremely angry

Appearing on Thursday's edition of "NFL Total Access Kickoff," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said that Griffin is, in fact, "extremely angry" to be shut down for health reasons.

And it turns out, owner Daniel Snyder was actually "receptive" to Shanahan's idea of preserving the franchise quarterback to ensure a full offseason, NFL Media columnist Michael Silver said.

The fissure between head coach and owner originated when Snyder surrendered a "king's ransom" for the opportunity to draft Griffin, Silver reported. Contrary to previous speculation, Snyder -- not Shanahan -- was the "impetus" behind the blockbuster trade, per Silver.

Despite what Shanahan has said publicly, Silver's sources affirm that the coach switched quarterbacks for performance reasons. Shanahan didn't believe he could maintain credibility in the locker room if he continued to start a struggling Griffin.

From what I have read on message boards, at least a good deal of dwfs (or maybe drunk mystery meat fans?) from around here, recognize these guys as mixed, as we have a large creole population (as in colored creoles who are mixed, and run a lot of stuff in New Orleans and look down on darker skinned people). The ones who recognize Lance as mixed love him, just like Graham, they loved Billy Miller too, who was a very mediocre tight end for the Saints, but very pale for a black guy, also love Kenny Vaccaro, not sure what mix he is, and mentioned before Kenny Stills.

Too often I have heard the concept that some of these mulattoes are a "perfect combo" of both races (from the dwf mindset) meaning they get their athleticism from the black heritage but smarts, football instincts, better hands and hustle from their White side. To me this just seems to promote the whole idea of racial mixing. I would say these guys are promoted for this idea, but I think there aren't enough dark as night guys to fill the league, there having trouble as it is with the half breeds, quadroons ( ever heard of quadroon balls, where these creoles claim to come from? get togethers where White people would get together with quadroons 1/4th black to create octaroons, which was considered exotic but just White enough to be civilized) octoroons or whatever mix you want to call them that they scout every freaking poly there is as well, anything non White.

but the whole mixed thing might just be here, because people are familiar with the whole creole thing, although still many dwfs around the area don't realize Jimmy Graham and Lance Moore aren't White and there are some "creoles" that could pass for White, usually a mixture of White, Indian and black. Back when they were "free people of colour" they started their own schools and made people pass a hair comb test to get in, if your hair was too nappy no getting in, not to mention they owned slaves themselves.

anyway im rambling, but yeah some of these mixes are viewed as some superhuman race, I think Ive seen someone post something similar on draftcountdown about athletes, particularly the qb position, getting a mix, the "right athleticism combined with intellect" so the view might be more widespread than just here where I live. Has anyone else heard comments like these?

BTW, we had some questioning on here when he was in college, relatively unknown on whether Mathews was White, then Gerhart came and starting having bigger and better games as the season went along and Mathews starting getting a lot of hype despite being more fragile, never completing a season healthy in a weaker conference and that carried over into his pro career after being picked 12th overall, so I think that answered the question.

Woodhead comes along and he has managed to stay healthy this year, go figure. The previous years he was looking like another Darren McFadden. He is good but isnt that great, it took him like 30 carries to get to 100 week, this isn't 1984 where running is that tough, I don't remember the Giants being that tough to run against this year.

Coming out he was considered by some a slightly smaller but faster and more dynamic version of Gerhart (ppl questioned Gerhart's ability in the passing game), but Mathews has been fragile, he ran a 4.45 compared to Gerhart's 4.53. He has 776 carries and only 1 run that went 40 yards or longer, it was a 51 yarder, this year. Gerhart has 276 carries and twice that number with a long of 67, and its not like Gerhart has been able to get into a rhythm that often.

Gerhart should have went 12th overall, but it was Mathews, or to the Texans, he'd be doing better than Tate right now. I don't know if he would have had to sit behind Foster, who was an unknown udfa the year before that draft, Ben Tate tears his knee and then Foster has a breakout season.

Last night’s loss by Denver not only helped New England achieve a higher playoff seeding, but also could allow San Diego to eventually overtake a darker playoff AFC playoff contender such as the Dolphins, Ravens, or Colts for a Wildcard spot.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure that the #1 seed and home field advantage would help the Patriots or not. New England is undefeated at home, but played horrendous and were lucky to survive games against the Jets, Saints, Dolphins, Broncos, and Browns at Gillette Stadium this season.

Of course there will be. RGIII isn't just making himself look bad, he's making his receivers look bad as well and with his turnovers and inability to gain yards and make first downs he puts added pressure on his defensive players which get worn out and in turn makes them look bad. Since the talking head media types are unwilling to say RGIII is anything less than a football God they have taken to saying "He doesn't have enough weapons" and believe me the WRs are not happy about hearing that. If Cousins comes in as Foles did in Philly and they start winning and the receivers are putting up good numbers with Cousins they will not want to go back to the Princess no matter how much the owner wants them to go back. Unfortunately given the way Snyder operates I'm sure he'd rather get rid of disgruntled receivers than sit the inferior QB because he obviously screwed over the franchise by giving up so much to get him.

San Diego was considerably Whiter than Denver last night, even though some of their players are still substitutes rather than starters. The Chargers set a template on how to beat the Broncos -- run the ball down their throats while also covering their receivers more closely than most of the terrible defenses in the league seem capable of doing.

Without Welker (and Derek Wolfe), the Broncos were down to Manning and Decker, Tamme (who wasn't utilized), a single White o-lineman, and a whole bunch of affletes. Part of it is due to injuries, but the unmistakable blackening of the team this year is likely to lead to the same downward arc being followed by Green Bay and Houston. One would think Elway (and Fox) would be more astute, but they aren't.

Long ago the thinking was a team had a sub-par season because it was "too white." I wonder if anyone will notice teams like the Steelers and now Green Bay and Houston do less well by being "too black?"
