It was an unusual day for sure, and the popular saying "Any Given Sunday" was particularly true today. A lot of good teams who were favored to win lost (GB, HOU, NYG), TEN lost to IND, and I certainly did not expect BAL to play this poorly (not that I care about them).

This shows that the playoff race in the AFC is wide open. I expect NE to win out and grab the #1 seed, but that means little because we all know their defense is garbage. The Broncos ran all over them early in the game, and if not for those turnovers, the game could've turned out differently. BAL was exposed, as were the Jets, and I expect PIT to lose tomorrow as well. It was a terrible night for Joe Flacco. The Texans have a rookie at QB, and who knows how he'll perform when the stakes are much higher.

Speaking of the Broncos, they are not good enough overcome 3 turnovers, so if they want to keep winning, they have to protect the football going forward. Each of the 6 teams who appear headed to the AFC playoffs have their weaknesses, and I don't really see anyone peaking right now. I'm simply hoping one of "our" teams prevails and makes the SB.

Two plays stood out for me in the Broncos - Pats game. The first was the attempted punt return at the end of the 1st half that cost Denver 3 points. The 2nd moronic play was in the 3rd quarter. The Broncos 'D' had done a great job in forcing a 3rd and 24 situation with the Pats on their own 10 yard line when a lineman got a horrible penalty to let the Pats keep the ball. They went in for a TD and the outcome was never in doubt after that. I can't even fault the ref for calling it as it was a blatant and obvious foul.
Turnovers are going to happen to all teams during the season so I can't complain too much about the fumbles. I do think it's time for coach Fox to start trusting his offense more and start going for it on the 4th and 1 situations. He can take more chances than when Tebow first took over the QB position.

The Broncos are getting better every week and could do some damage in the playoffs depending on how the match ups go. I can see them beating the Ravens or Texans while struggling against the Steelers or Pats. A veteran QB who can put up points and avoid turnovers will be their biggest obstacle.

Tim Tebow is looking better and better each week. His upside seems to be unlimited.

Tebow had an excellent game, very productive running and throwing. Brady exposed the Broncos all-black defense, who were totally gassed in the second half.

It's actually better that the Patriots won that game, as they are vying for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Broncos will still win their division and get a home playoff game, which is the best they could hope for anyway. It looks like they'll get Baltimore or Pittsburgh in the first round. They can beat Baltimore, because Flacco is crap on the road. The Patriots have struggled with Baltimore and Pittsburgh, so it would be great if Denver can take one of them out. The Patriots would beat the Broncos at home and be into the AFC Championship game.

Disappointing effort from the Packers. I expected to see Zombo back in the starting lineup, but he was only playing special teams. The Packers have made a terrible paradigm shift by using high draft picks the last two years on "affletic" tackles Marshall Newhouse and Derek Sherrod. Marshall Newhouse was abused by Tamba Hali, giving up 3 sacks. Sherrod got in as Bulaga's backup and promptly suffered a season ending broken leg. The Packers greatest asset is Aaron Rodgers and they are entrusting his blind side to Marshall Newhouse. If the Packers continue their blackening trend, their potential dynasty will be short-lived.

Zombo was in was Walden who was pulled late in the game, but he missed an assignment as well, so i'm guessing he won't take over as a starter yet.

McCarthy presser; says Clifton will be in practice Wed, but he is still questionable on account of the back problems and they don't really know where the hamstring is at this point.

49ers and Steelers both starting only 4 whites.

But don't go thinking the NFL is racist ... that might make you an extremist!

Collin Cowterd hit a new low today on his radio show talking about Tebow. I've never been so angered before.

Just listen to the first 5 minutes

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=7369866

Wow, is this guy awful, and just plain wrong. Two or three minutes was all I could stand to listen to.

His main point is that the media is calling this Tebow's "rookie year." Oh, really? I think even the dullest corporate media knuckle-draggers are aware that this is Tim's second season in the NFL.

Then he says continually that the media is "babying" Tebow. Completely wrong again. Large numbers of "experts" were ready to write Tebow off after the Lions crushed Denver in his second start, while others wrote him off before his first start.

Cowturd also says that Tebow was so bad last year that he never saw the field and was at the bottom of the depth chart. Wrong yet again! Tebow was Denver's starting QB at the end of last season.

Thank God for the Internet so that I don't have to listen to Cowturd and the rest of the army of nauseating Cultural Marxist drones on the corporate media when it comes to sports, politics, and everything else.

can you recap it please? instead of giving the site and audio hits

Don summed it up pretty well. Cowterd basically described the past 2 months of Tebow coverage exactly the opposite way of what actually transpired. He took everything and spun it around 180 degrees. Even the Chosens would be in awe of his ability to twist facts

:kev:

btw ESPN already has a big monopoly on sports entertainment. I visit their site daily and check out the podcasts too. I don't think it makes much of a difference.

I mentioned this last week. While all of Tebow's detractors gave up, including Merrill Hoge, Cowturd was the lone remaining critic. It also doesn't help that he looks like a total scumbag and his voice is more annoying than Uncle Chris. Expect him to be the primary flag bearer of the anti-Tebow movement going forward. Also, Jim Rome opened his show today (Rome is Burning) with similarly disparaging remarks. These clowns will grasp at every straw and use the smallest of opportunities to carry out the agenda against Tim to please their CM overlords.

Brett Swain sighting last night, he had 1 catch for 49ers.

also, Bears signed Komar to their active roster, for what it's worth (not much, with Hatie).

Jim Rome is a flaming jackass. I've always hated him, even before I came to the realization of how evil ESPN is.

As Stossel is running away you come to understand the "Culture of Critique" is but one slap away from being irrelevant.
