40-0 already, in mid 3rd quarter. Gabbert has 21 yards so far, my guess is his NFL career will be a short one, as being white, he doesn't get any benefit of the doubt. he's only had 6 attempts, how is it even possible on at least 8 possessions?
I can't wait until he "greatly improves". He should go undefeated for the rest of his career and score on every possession. Football History! And with a bad team! I agree the guy is awesome!
Personally, I agree with Deadlift. Tebow's a great kid, a hard worker, has a magnetic personality, and is clearly the NFL's feel-good story of the year, but his does need to improve. The Broncos are winning despite him, not because of him. He completes 48% of his passes, he helms the 24th ranked offense in the league, and they're on the verge of having the most 3 and outs in the history of the game.. because of their horrific 3½ quarters practically every Sunday.
In 5 of "Tebow's" 7 victories, the defense surrendered only 15, 10, 13, 13, and 10 points. A stud defensive unit like that would make almost any quarterback look like the second coming of Johnny Unitas.

I agree with both of you. In fact, any QB in the league could have led those comeback wins and the 8-5 record. I find it very puzzling why the Broncos didn't just stick with Orton. Tebow is a good kid, a hard worker with a high motor, and a great student of the game. He's not even in the same universe athletically with studs like Vick and Newton, and his bubble will soon pop. In the meantime, we'll watch and see how much longer his run of luck will continue while the defense carries the day.

Since the Broncos are clearly winning despite everything Tebow's incompetence is doing to sabotage the team, the most intelligent thing for the Broncos to do would be to trade him, like they did Peyton Hillis.
That way their stud defensive unit won't have to work so hard, since a much better quarterback like Tavaris Jackson or Vince Young would use their fighter-pilot intellects and superior athleticism to pepper opposing defenses with a withering array of qb magic.
Tebow is a definite loser and his career needs to be quashed, stat.

i agree with Shockwave. this Tebow kid, what's this all about? he also threw 2 interceptions this season, that loser. how is he even in the league when great character, super athletic players such as JaMarcus Russell and Pat White are out of work? thankfully they have that great defense, these guys do all the work and it's reflected in all the rankings, these guys are reminiscent of at least Kiffin's Bucs if not Steel Curtain:

Hey Thrash, for all of Deadlift's (and the media's) talk about signature wins, I'm still wondering what the heck a "signature win" really looks like. I mean, does the team collectively scribble a bunch of illegible markings in the end zone as time expires, kind of like a doctor writing a prescription; or is it a "John Hanc0ck" type over-sized signature done by the team's diversities (assuming they can write); or maybe it is something put together by the team's high-motor players using a calligraphy kit? Either way, it is a fascinating concept. Perhaps we'll someday find the answers to this question and other questions of lesser importance.

Although Riddlewire is very negative at times, he makes great arguments and his facts and stats are on target.

Guys remember one thing. United we stand, divided we fall. Tim Tebow is as exciting a player as we have seen at the qb position in a while. He does need to improve in the completion of his passes but the guy just has that "star" factor. To be fair, the defense has been a intregal part of the equation. I believe that most of us here have given the defense the credit that they deserve. That doesn't take away from what he has done. How quickly you guys forget how many dropped passes we have seen from his receivers all year long. Even Decker has vastly underacheived. Then to top that has been the horrible play calling by the offensive coordinator. The fact that he has won so many road games, and had only 2 turnovers is pretty incredible if you ask me. Just wait till this kid gets a little more experience. He will be even more magical. So my main point is that we shouldn't argue about it so much. Let's just be patient and watch him develop over the next few years. Then we can judge as to whether he has become a true star or just an average qb. Just my two cents.

And, if you believe so much in their offense and defense, why did you make a post recently saying that both New England/Houston could be knocked-out of the postseason whether they get home-field advantage or not? Then again, you can say whatever you want..
As for New Orleans, are they really much darker than Denver? Doesn't Denver start Clady at LT and Orlando Franklin at RT, so no snow plow? And, with NO, there are Whites in the defensive rotation. If Denver can be pushed for the Super Bowl out of the AFC, then I can push NO out of the NFC. However, neither team will probably be in the Super Bowl!

Considering the writer is probably Jewish (Zack Pumerantz, who loves the N.Y. Islanders?), I don't think it's that horrible of a list -- probably as "white friendly" as you'll ever get from a Lonsman. What he's writing about is a white bunch of guys the media and DWF's have hated, but have "performed beyond expectations". Of course, in reality, Jordy should've been a first round no-brainer and Hansborough should've been a top 3 pick.
But let's not forget, Packers GM Ted Thompson was booed like crazy when he traded out of round 1 and picked Nelson in round 2. When he picked another white WR in the same draft (Swain), many DWF's called for him to be fired!!! The DWF's wanted a CB named Cason that went to the Chargers and has sucked, thus far....Also, Larry Bird was torn a new a-hole by the DWF's and a writer/radio host named Kravitz for having too many whites. That was another pick that was not greeted with much appreciation.
I see your point, it's odd he mostly just picked whites, perhaps he should've titled it "players that have surprised the DWF's"

The scheduling has truly been awful. At least last year, there was a New England/Green Bay game (the one with Matt Flynn), but none of that this year. However, there's a chance the postseason will provide salvation.
In the NFC postseason, for example, there might be 3 Super Bowl-winning QBs featured: Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Eli Manning. If the Giants' get into the postseason, by winning the NFC East in particular, I think they'll get at least one win. Aside from some mistakes, Eli has played really well. How can anyone argue against the legitimacy of this setup? Looking at the above field generals (that are readying themselves for competition), it's apparent that it isn't at all "easy" to win a Super Bowl. I have respect for that fact, and really look forward to the postseason.
The NFC is also developing greater QB-depth than the AFC. The NFC will not win Super Bowls' every year, but they'll be more battle-tested. If Andrew Luck goes to Indy via the Draft, I don't see this changing the AFC/NFC balance by much. Jake Locker could very well help AFC QBs.

Funny how the first paragraph for most of those "unexpected" white standouts began with "after a stellar career at [insert college here]..."
Yes, The Saints have several Whites rotating in on defense for them. Scott Shanle is a starter at OLB and good at coverage, he isn't a hard hitter but is a solid tackler in the run game, I never see him get praise....anywhere. He does his job, which is cover tight ends, sometimes receivers, usually slot receivers and good at stopping the run, he has lost a step at this age but still very good. We don't have many White guys like that in the NFL. Very few outside linebackers in the 4-3. Then there is Will Herring who rotates in quite frequently at OLB in place of a black player. His specialty is coverage. He is amazing at it, so much that I don't see why they don't put him at SS since Roman Harper obviously can't cover. The defensive coordinator knows this and rarely puts Harper in a situation where he does have to cover, he is either playing the run or blitzing, which is why he has the most sacks for a defensive back. In fact Will Herring drops into coverage more frequently than Harper. You can kind of say Herring is a hybrid S/LB in New Orleans. They also have Jeff Charleston who rotates in at defensive end. The only problem is they have given Will Smith a 100 million dollar contract and have a 1st round draft pick in Cam Jordan. Smith is average but Jordan has failed to do anything. Charleston just might get that break after serving his racial apprenticeship. On offense they have a White center who just replaced a black one, people thought there would be a huge drop off in play but its improved the entire line. Zach Strief plays RT, although he should be playing LT. David Thomas is split out wide quite a bit, but has been plagued by injuries this year, I believe he is on IR right now. They also have fullback Jed Collins, who might just be one of the best blocking fullbacks in the league, but guys like Leach get the hype. Collins sees the ball about the same amount as Hester (not including the garbage time touches Hester gets) and is pretty athletic and could be a great receiving fullback, he has 3 touchdowns for the year.
Drew Brees is one of the best in the game, standing at 6'0, he has proved all of his doubters wrong and put himself in the top tier of quarterbacks, despite being surrounded by mediocre receivers. Colston, Moore etc wouldn't be anything without him. He also makes the offensive line look better and many fans aknowledge that, he is great at moving around in the pocket and has one of the quickest releases in football, in fact that is what many opposing defenses say about him, his quick release is what makes him special. Imagine what he could do with an all White line and one or two White receivers (there are many fans that think Jimmy Graham is White, and many think Lance Moore is White, but they don't count although both have good hands, Mike Hass would be 10x better than Moore). He can't control the racial makeup of the team. He has lobbied for players of all races, the only one they got is a black guy, Darren Sproles. It was Sean Payton who wanted to get Shockey but Brees was on board with the idea from day 1 and was thrilled at the fact that they were trying to get him, the deal almost fell through but came through. The owner and gm didn't want to keep paying his salary because he had been dealing with injuries. People regret this now because Thomas is hurt, and Graham can't block and is basically a big receiver.

I have read that the OWNER, not Sean Payton is the reason for blackening of the team. He said something along the lines of keeping team closely resembling that of New Orleans, similar to Nagin's "chocolate city" comment. This is despite that since the dome has been selling out since 2006, it has been majority White from outside the actual city of New Orleans. It still is a blacker fan base than most, I went a few times with my dad and I would have to say there were a good deal of blacks in the seats, at least 30 percent, maybe even more (Of course the higher the row, the more blacks, so its hard to tell).
The position coaches also have an influence on who stays and who goes, they could be telling the head coach that a guy just isn't getting it. The wide receivers coach was black, from the New Orleans area. He was just hired at Tulane as HEAD coach without the credentials. We will see how fair he is when it comes to recruiting.

Mike Mayock isn't as bad as many announcers but he still has strong pro-Caste tendencies. When Jacksonville's sumos couldn't protect Blaine Gabbert Thursday night (particularly the two tackles), Mayock put almost all the blame for the team's non-existent offense on Gabbert. But when Tampa's sumos have done a terrible job protecting Josh Freeman, Mayock is (correctly) blaming the team's o-line.

Side with him on what? Thrashen can play the "role of the realist" by saying that BOTH New England and Houston could lose in the postseason, but no one else can? Personally, I think a team like Pittsburgh will be vulnerable this year.
He is a bully, who has viciously ambushed several newbies recently, because he can apparently (how is that not "outbursts?"). I'm handling him not only for myself, but for everyone else who has dealt with his neuroticism and obsessions. There's no better time than now. One of the best things with Drew Brees is that he followed Aaron Brooks. If a White QB had come in and floundered, that would not have been good from the standpoint of perception. And if what you say is true about Tom Benson, the team may be saddled with another black quarterback by now. Although, it looks like Sean Payton thinks White QBs are better suited for his scheme.
