I heard an interesting quote from the announcers while watching the Saints game -- he said that the Saints' linebacker corps is better this year because "it's more athletic than last year" and last year's group was "sorely lacking that extra something."

Melanin?

The Yahoo Sports headline after the Packers-Vikings game was interesting.

Yahoo:Aaron Rodgers wasn't spectacular in his first start but he was sharp enough to lead the Pack to a 24-19 win over the Vikings.

Sharp enough? They make it sound as though he barely got by. Truth is, in spite of a very sloppy, penalty filled performance by his team, he was a shining success.

Consider his stats. His passing Pct. was a lofty 81.8, which the announcers said was second or third best in NFL history for first start rookie QB's. He was 18-22, for 178 Yds in the air, with 1TD pass, 0 INT's and a TD on the ground. With all the pressure he was under, that was a hell of a game he played.Oh, and his QB rating was 115.5.Tavaris, by the way was at 59.

Edit: Celtic beat me to the punch.

Bart this is a very telling post. How the F is an 81% completion percentage, second best all time in a first start and a 117 QB rating not spectacular? Utter non-sense. Rodgers looked fabulous and he would have had 2 passing TDs if not for the penalty. Rodgers also ran for a TD. The owners of Rivals recruiting service (Yahooligans) continue to push a radical anti-white pathological agenda, but will the drunken fans notice? Meanwhile, "it continues to be seen" if Tavaris Jackson will become a good QB. I am 99% certain that Tarvaris will never be good, he has no accuracy on any pass over 12 yards. He'd be a bad "game manager" at best.

The Denver running game other than a couple runs by Andre Hall has been a bit of a weakness so far. The unblazing and 20th ranked (by NFLdraftscout) Selvin Young and also Michael Pittman are not quality runners. Will they use the nimble and quick bruiser Peyton Hillis? OF course not...this is the Negro Football league. Man I hate to use that word, but the acronym fits perfectly. All the media and drunken fans are negrophiles. Hey, at least in a latin context there is no issue with the word!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

There is seriously something wrong with a country where in easily more than half (maybe even two thirds or more) of the quantifiably best high school football players are white but then they get whittled away from the college game so that when the NFL showcases the last men standing, there's only one or two sad white dudes at the most for every five black guys who can't catch a football or tackle or protect, and worse still, have no rhythm when they endzone dance for a non-accomplishment.

Football is pathetic.

Anyway, ever get a gander at Germany's national soccer team? So many of those guys could easily play NFL ball, maybe even without bulking up. Probably play well, too, with stereotypically robotic and humorless German efficiency.

Garbage time allowed Russell to put up good numbers. Same thing happened with Campbell this week. I wonder if the people looking to defend bad black quarterbacks will eventually point to garbage time generated respectable numbers as the reason they are "not that bad".

Uh, Campbell threw for 133 yards and Russell for 180. Those are Vickian outputs, not "good numbers."

Sometimes you crack up me Don, with your ridiculous reality denial. Garbage time enabled this to happen for Jamarcus Russell:

17/26 180 yards 2 TD 0 INT 111 rating

That's a great game. It is statistically equal to the game Aaron Rodgers played. By the numbers, Jamarcus outplayed over 20 quarterbacks in week 1.

He crushed Carson Palmer, a guy you think is great.

Of course we all know he didn't play that good, but should the Jamarcus defenders wish to use the numbers, he played very well indeed.

I am willing to cut Jamarcus some slack it was his first start. He didn't have a deer in the headlights looks. I still don't see much upside in him(long term). He wasn't that polished at LSU what is going to look like in the NFL. If the more polished Leinart looks a little lost Jamarcus is going to take a long, long, long time to look like a solid starter in the NFL.Edited by: white is right

Sorry sport, but 180 yards is not a "great game." Maybe in your Pop Warner league games, but not in the NFL. No one, repeat no one not even the most ridiculous Caste whore, is going to write or say that Russell had a "great game" or that he played as well as Aaron Rodgers. Did you watch any of the Raiders game? Not even Mike and Mike were saying that Russell was playing well, only that occasionally he was making some good plays, which is true. Mike Ditka mumbled most of the time but it was clear he thought Justin Fargas was the only player on Oakland who should get paid this week.

And Campbell's 133 yards is neither "good" nor "great" and no one is claiminghe had a good game. Making various excuses for him, still claiming he'll be a good quarterback, but not that he played a good game with his 133 passing yards.

The statement "he crushed Carson Palmer a guy you think is great" is statistically meaningless for one game. What an idiotic thing to write. What's your opinion of Palmer? Do you think anyone will be claiming that Russell is a better quarterback than Palmer? After all, you're "paid to know these things," right sport?

You're the one in need of a reality check, something many here have commented on.More than a few have urged me to ban you. Keep insulting me and their wish will come true Jody and this time it'll be for good. Edited by: Don Wassall

Guys they banned dueling pistols in the late 19th century. Maybe Nevada could meet Don a yard and half down the road(Casino reference)and a hole could be dug before the meeting....

Well what I would like to know is what the median amount an average QB throws for in yardage per game in a season. I'd say in the very low 200s. 300 yards is bonus points in fantasy and is considered a great yardage game, but I see a lot of games where a QB throws for lets say 205 yards. I'd say for a first game Aaron Rodgers played great when you consider his completion percentage and he ran for a TD too and had another pass TD called back.

Jamarcus played solid for a first start, but most of his plays were late in the game. Jamarcus didn't play "great" or "spectacular" by any stretch. Still, the guy deserves a full season of "grooming" to see what he's got and probably more, unless he shows absolutely no skill set. With the 1st pick the Raiders used on him and his huge salary, Jamarcus will have a very long leash indeed.

It used to be that any top draft pick QB would get until their third year to start playing well. Now the black QB gets 3 to 4 full years and the white one gets about 16 starts over 2 seasons of getting pulled in and out of games by the time the team and fans have decided he sucks.

Let's not forget Jamarcus's costly fumble early in the game. The Raiders were in the red zone and needed to score at least a field goal on that drive.

It seems to me that almost all of the black QB's exhibit the same weaknesses. No accuracy, run first mentality, inability to improve much over the years and no grasp of how to lead their team in a two-minute drill.

In todays world, you would get scorched for saying blacks DON'T have what it takes to play QB, but what skills DO they have to play the QB position?

whiteknight,

i noticed that, as well. both black players that did the intro excluded mentioning the white players on their team. that isn't coincidental.

i wouldn't read so much into it. you'll get players propping up and introducing white players a lot, i saw that with Packers game, when Barnett was presenting. plus they hardly ever mention all of thr players.

The black announcer on nfl.com highlights said 'Cutler would have all the luck in this one' when comparing him and Russell. So basically if the white QB has the better game it's due to luck not sporting ability.

Somehow I managed to stay up for the Broncos-Raiders game (4am it started in UK). In the 2nd Quarter Stokley was clearly held by the DB from the Raiders and somehow got away with it? Even the commentators agreed that it was a foul on Stokley (I have a feeling that if it had been Royal instead of Stokley then the ref would've given the foul). Hillis paved the way for Pittmans first TD and Hillis tried to celebrate with Pittman and the ungrateful t**ser gave the rookie a cold shoulder (nothing new). Hillis also made another huge block later on showing raw explosive speed and strength which got praise from Madden. I'm excited about Hillis! I also noticed that Broncos O-line was extremely dominant against that Raiders slug slow coal black D line which seemed full of KFC. Also Cutler needs to use Scheffler more.

on Denver's first running play, the first running play of Hillis' pro career, he pancaked a defender which made a HUGE hole for his black teammate running with the ball.

perhaps it is the ability to be so good at many things while at the same time being unselfish that hurts white athletes...

JC good post! Hillis could put up Terrell Davis type numbers in Denver's offense. Hillis is the perfect type of runner for their blocking schemes, just as McGuffie is for the spread. It's too bad Shanahan is more worried about team, media and fan reaction for starting Hillis than putting the best players on the field. I predict if things really go bad in the running game that Shanahan will have to give Hillis a shot.
