This is the writer's own idea rather than based on any reported trade talks. Would like to see it happen as Abbrederis is unlikely to be a contributor any time soon in Green Bay after his injuries the past two years and may not even make the roster.

Hoping for two things tonight.

First I want to see Zach Zenner go for 100 yards rushing. It's a long shot with the limited time but I'm hoping he can find a way. Even 75 yards would be great. He had 53 yards in his first game.

Second I want to see Johnny Manziel have a big game. Two to three tds and no interceptions hopefully.

Zach Zenner has 1 carry so far for 3 yards. Hoping he can get around 15 rushes or more. I don't see anyway he doesn't make the team. It is just sad that he will only play special teams once the preseason ends.

Scott Solomon is a specimen should be a solid 1-2 punch w Kruger! Encouraging to see undrafted-rookie DB-Landon Feichter(nice college/Purdue underdog story told here on CF) playing in the 1st half!

It's one of those Eric Decker kinds of things. He'd most certainly have an opportunity with the Panthers, but he'd be on the other end of a black quarterback's passes. If he tears it up, it will be all because sCam Newton is Superman, and if sCam sucks, then it's all Jared's fault because he has no "burst" and can't get "separation" and he should be able to track down sCam's errant throws.

I think that, at the very least, Zenner has proven his worth as a receiver. If the Lions are dumb enough to cut him someone like Belichek will scoop him up.

Gremlin just got injured again. This time it's a shoulder stinger. Even the DWF's are starting to realize this guy has no business being an NFL QB.

Zenner with the td. He is a starting running back and like usual in the nfl he will never get to play barring 3 or 4 running backs in front of him getting hurt. Hell with our luck Zenner will get hurt on special teams.

The only collegiate running back to have 3 consecutive 2000 yard seasons yet he didn't get drafted. Only in America. What a crime. The kid could be a superstar but we only get to see him in preseason. Sure they will use him on some occassional 3rd downs but that is it. I'm so angry right now. Happy he is putting on a show but angry that he is stuck in Detroit.

Manziel just threw a perfect 37 yd pass down field on a roll out and follows it up with a 21 yd td throw for a TD. I think he is coming along nicely and hope he gets to continue to develop behind McCown for the time being.

Johnny Football with the td. He is 9 of 11 with one td. Very good performance against a tough defense despite it being 2nd half. McCown had 2 interceptions tonight. I hope they give Manziel at least 1 start in the final 2 preseason games. He looks alot more comfortable.

The bottom line is the kid needs to play to improve. Put him in the game and let him play out the year. I guarantee he would be better than most of the higher drafted scrub qbs I see.

I am very happy with the way JM has played today. JM has the talent. All that was holding him back was himself. I am glad he has wised up.

Manziel has outplayed all qb's on the field. Taylor has no business as a starter in the league and neither does E jenkum Manuel. I think JM is in good hands in Cleveland getting the support and grooming from McCown and company.

Manziel played well, but his receivers let him down. I understand these are 2nd and 3rd stringers, but it's the NFL you should know how to catch a football.

Game Notes

Manziel looks like he's finally come around. I don't know if he has done enough to take the job from McCown by week 1, but I'm sure it will happen eventually this season.

Cousins again looks terrific, and clearly better than RG3-13, who coincidently now has his excuse for 2015.

Did anyone see Will Compton tonight? I think he has a pretty good shot to start this season, but I didn't even see him tonight.

EJ Manuel is just pathetic. Finally gets the ball in the end zone in the final minutes of the game, after doing nothing the entire 2nd half, then has the nerve to skip off the field holding his finger to his lips to quiet the Cleveland crowd, in a friggin preseason game, against 3rd stringers no less. What a dummy... Listening to Gruden, you would think Manuel just won the Superbowl.

Cleveland S Landon Feichter appeared to play most of the game. Did he start?

Redskin LB Houston Bates was all over the field tonight, collecting a sack, his 3rd of the preseason.

Paul Kruger is a beast!

Zenner looks really good, but like most white RBs, isn't allowed to run out of the I formation with a lead blocker. Should make the team though.

Lion SS Brian Suite made a couple nice hits, should make the team.

I guess Rex and Waley have their heart set on a brother at QB; Enjoy you're 5-11 season...

I saw Dolphin S Delmas is injured again. Hopefully Jordan Kovacs gets a chance to compete for the job. Every article I've read though lists a bunch of no-name bro's, no mention of Kovacs at all.

I think it was Joe Thiesman was calling the Redskin game, and he sounds pretty convinced that Junior Galete is going to start over Murphy.

Gruden must have proclaimed a half dozen times that Cleveland 'needs an OLB to pair with Kruger'.
