NFL Players who gave gone broke

I found a list on Yahoo of some players who are now penniless. Of course two whites, Mark Brunnell and Johnny Unitas, were thrown in the list so it wouldn't look "racist." I'm willing to bet anything that 95 percent of athletes that go broke are black. Take a look at Travis Henry in this list. He has 11 kids with 10 different mothers. Lawrence Taylor? I guess he just spent all his money on coke and prostitutes.

The percentage of White players who go broke is probably 20 to 25 percent or so and I would say mostly it's due to injuries where they can't work post career. Brunell was caught up in the real estate bubble. Many of the rural White players seem to live on a fraction of the money they make. I suspect that the ones that go broke that aren't injured tried to turn a few million dollars into tens of millions in businesses that they have no expertise in. Edited by: white is right

I don't think it's that high for white players, White is Right. The interesting thing is we rarely ever see white guys having 11 kids with 10 different women.
 
You won't believe how many busted up players there are out there plus this recession hurt people bad. If you have a house on a mortgage and your income goes from millions down to 30K or even less what are you going to do with the payments. Maybe that number is too high but many guys that played in the 60's and 70's didn't make much money and quite a few are busted up.
 
It's typical cultural marxist propaganda to lump white players that had investments go bad in with black players that blew their money on gambling, drugs and whores. It's understandable that ex-athletes who have little financial knowledge will take the millions that they make and occasionally invest it unwisely. Even the best investers can find themselves broke quickly. Bowever the real story is the numbe of ex-athletes that took those millions and spent it all away on garbage. And those ex-athletes are almost always black.

Here in the Detroit area there is a story about every month on an ex-Detroit athlete that is now broke. They are nearly always black, and they didn't lose their money investing in a bad telecom company. It's sad when you read of a Cecil Fielder or a Rick Mahorn or a Luther Ellis not having any money after making millions. It's even sadder when they continue to get their black skin priviledge and the media refuses to criticize the culture of immediate gratification that causes the problem.
 
I heard recently that the ultra-evil Tiki Barber is supposedly "broke"Â￾ after being fired from his cushy analyst job for a scandal in which he left his Asian wife (who was 8 months pregnant with twins at time) for a 23-year old white "woman" (woman, prostitute, whatever).

Tiki's life has gone from great to a very bad dream. He was once luaded in the sports world and even here at CF.LOL to missing out on a Superbowl Ring with the Gaints to being fired as one America's "good" Negroes. Karma's a bitch. I even thought I would see him running through the airports as Hertz's second "smoove" talking safe Negro spokesman. Alas!

I grew up with two guys that made the bigs in baseball. One was drafted right out of high school. The other played for Miss State 2 years and then for the Rangers, and Angels for one year. After that it was double, and triple A ball. He quit last yaer, and has a modest home, and is a happy man. He managed to save up the money he made just pitching in the minors.


The other guy actually played for several teams in the majors. He got sent down to double, and triple A a few times, but hed always get called back up. He even hit a few homers, and stole some bases. The point is he must have made much more than the first guy, who was only ever in the minors. Now this guy lives on his moms couch, selling weed to his cousins, and bitching how baseball is racist! Yeah, as if racism is the reason he never hit above 200. He was broke almost as soon as baseball was over for him.
So one guy plays one year in the bigs, and then 9 years for teams in the minors. Moves back to his hometown, and buys a nice big house on some pretty land. The other guy goes to the majors at 19 and in total played about 6 or 7 years in the bigs, and those last 2 or 3 for minor leauge teams. Then cant cut it anymore, and ends up broke, and bitter. He spent it all as he went along. One of them is white, and one of them is black. I think its obvious which is which.
 
Alright, another addition to this thread. It's being reported that none other than "AHDIW" is already broke. Not that this is any surprise, it seems to happen to black players in most cases. Of course, his excuse is his eeevil agent and investment advisers, which is likely true, but isn't it the players job to oversee this stuff and be smart with his money? Operative word here is "smart".

I suppose to call him the greatest bust of all time (and for God's sake leave Ryan Leaf alone, finally) would be RACIST.

Anyway, it's nice that after likely hundreds of millions of dollars were spent trying to develop this loser, the world finally figures out what CF has been saying since DAY 1, that he's a talentless piece of garbage and never deserved ANY opportunity.

Giovani, that post was hilarious. The part that isn't funny is that it's true. Young will probably end up in some broadcast booth somewhere or another affirmative action postion thanks to his room brightening smile.

I don't see Vince Young ever being in a broadcast booth at least on the national level. The blacks they pick for those slots either have to be in the upper part of the bell curve for thier demographic or long time successful athletes that can lend some star power to the show.

Young has neither of those qualities. He's really dumb, speaks poorly, and had a short career that was ended basically in embarassing fashion. Burning through 60 million in a couple of years doesn't lend itself to opening many doors either. However in the caste system NFL world who knows?

Good counter point WA 33, but I believe Sapp is a bit smarter and more importantly stable. AHDIW is lacking on both of these fronts.

What I want to know, really, is how could one burn through 60 million dollars!!! Certainly he has something to show for it, real estate, cars or jewelry. How could he be absolutely busted. Unreal.

Actually Warren Sapp makes my point. He had a long well publicized NFL career with some post player appearences so he had the kind of "star" power (such as it is) that would counteract his lack of intelligence and make him a draw as a news personality. I don't think Vince Young is too dumb for primetime, that's not possible in Obama's amerika, he doesn't have the draw as a celebrity.
