So many Black mediocrities being rewarded with big contracts. The worst one so far has to be the one given to tackle Dan Moore, signed by the Titans for 4 yrs. and $82 million with an astonishing $50 million guaranteed. Moore played for the Steelers the past several years, but only because the team keeps striking out on tackles, with 2023 first round pick Broderick Jones looking like a mega-bust and 2024 first round pick Troy Fautanu missing his entire rookie season because of injury. Moore is sub-replacement level at best; if he was White he'd be very fortunate to find a team that would take him even as a backup. A couple of radio sports talk show cucks were even laughing about Moore's deal today. His $50 million guaranteed is only $5 million less than Sam Darnold's guaranteed money.
Michael Hoecht signed a three year deal with Buffalo. Tackle machine Cody Barton re-upped with Denver for three years and $21 million, finally getting more than a one year contract. But Denver also signed ILB Dre Greenlaw from the 49ers, who had just 9 tackles in '24 but was productive the two seasons before that. Before that signing the Broncos looked set with Barton, Alex Singleton and Drew Sanders as their starting linebackers, but now with Greenlaw it's not so clear.
Robert Spillane got a three year deal for $37.5 million, not bad but still less than what one of the league's best linebackers should be paid. At least maybe now we won't hear the "he shouldn't be anywhere near an NFL field" refrain any longer.
I wish I had the time to do a deep dive on salaries by race and position. White players seem to sign noticeably lesser deals than Blacks other than the very top tier of White QBs and edge rushers. The NFL is a classic racial spoils system, and with the teams more profitable than ever no matter how good or bad the on-field product is, the corresponding rise in the yearly salary cap is letting owners throw lots of big-time money around to small-time talents.
