I can remember at the three or four year mark of his career (when teams decide if a somewhat established player is a keeper or not) someone on this board was worried that he was on the bubble and might be cut. I couldn't blame the poster for having the flinchies after all the talented WR's that have been mysteriously jettisoned over the years. But Edelman made it through and had a very fine career. That bobbling hair's breadth save on his key superbowl catch alone will keep his name alive years down the road.

Edelman belongs in the Hall of Fame but he probably won't get there. The blacks in the media will undoubtedly oppose it

Edelman was one of the best WRs of the past decade. His story was remarkable - he was a PR/KR, WR as well as defensive back early in his career. His playoff performances have been clutch as well. I agree that he should be in consideration for the HOF as well. Another member of the Pats dynasty gone from the league.

That's the saddest part of his retirement. When we think back on those great Patriots teams, none of the key "overachievers" are left now, with the possible exception of Rex Burkhead, and it's very iffy whether he returns to New England or even plays at all this season.

But we knew it was coming and discussed it often. It was great while it lasted, which was a long time. Hopefully things don't sink back to the dark ages of the early and mid-90s as far as White WRs, RBs and defensive players, though it's certainly trending that way and of course the Black QB push keeps reaping more dividends each year. This year's draft may be the blackest one yet including through the second and third rounds. Looking at the mock drafts and various "top players" at each position, there's an unprecedented absence of White players other than the "big three" at QB, with Mac Jones looking like the player the media and DWFs will immediately go after to hate as soon as he's selected.

It's disappointing to see all the people clowning on him on social media like he isn't a legitimate candidate. He has the second most postseason receiving yards behind Jerry Rice. Detractors will say he played in a lot of postseason games but Marvin Harrison started more postseason games and has 600 less receiving yards, a total of 2 TDs and a 40 percent catch ratio.

You have to remember his first few postseason appearances he was special teams since he was still learning the nuances of the position, having been a college qb.

Reggie Wayne started SIX more postseason games and still has a few hundred less yards. As much hate Manning got for being a choker, those 2 never showed up in the postseason yet Harrison is in the hall of fame and I have no doubts Wayne will eventually make it

Should bode well for Gunner O. I was surprised to see Colin Cowherd talking up Julian Edelman's chances at The Hall of Fame. He even went as far as trashing Calvin Johnson to prove his point!

Cowherd can be cuckish but he has his good points. He lost a job a while back for straying off the reservation.

I'll do my final deep dive into the draft in the next week or so - read a few 3 and 7 round mocks to get my final feel for how the draft is going to play out. It really does seem more difficult to get a read on things/prospects this year especially as so much of the discussion has moved to social media rather than traditional websites along with the several writers/contributors going to sites with paywalls. I do feel a slight bit of insanity seeping in when I read comments on other forums though - so many are drunk on the myth of the caste system. The QB position in the past few years has been attacked with an anti-white fervor that has been unparalleled. The "experts" are all of the sudden re-writing how they think the position is supposed to be played.

Mac Jones is worthy of high first round consideration after watching him fill in for Tagiolova in 2019 and then taking the offense to the next level in 2020. He has been attacked and denigrated for not being "athletic". Here are his Pro Day workout numbers:

Height: 6-2 5/8
Weight: 217
Wingspan: 79 1/8"
Arm: 32 1/2"
Hand: 9 3/4"
40-yard dash: 4.72, 4.68 (rounded up to 4.79)
Vertical jump: 32 inches
Broad jump: 9 feet, 8 inches
Shuttle: 4.39
3-cone: 7.04

Let's compare him to Mahomes combine numbers

Height: 6-2
Weight: 225
Wingspan: 78 1/2"
Arm: 33.25"
Hand: 9 1/4"
40-yard dash: 4.80
Vertical Jump: 30 inches
Broad Jump: n/a
Shuttle: 4.08
3-Cone: 6.88

Really not much of a difference. Jones also possesses top notch intangibles along with uncanny accuracy and good arm strength (he isn't the noodle armed game manager the media is making him out to be).

if edelman chooses to can he now sign with any team if he passes the physical if he decides to unretire?
Yes he can play for the Bucs with Brady. There has been idle speculation he would do this but it looks like he has a chronic knee injury and this retirement is permanent.

PS, Gimp Bayless took off the gimp mask and makes a case for Edelmann for the hall..

He can play for anyone since he was released, but I agree it looks like a permanent thing with his bad knee injury on top of all the other injuries he's had.

BTW, congrats White is Right on 9,000 posts. You have some serious sneaky speed as I don't think I've ever seen you on the site in your 15 years of posting. ;)

Racial apprenticeships are why almost no White players make it to Canton anymore besides quarterbacks and the occasional o-lineman.
This is an extremely astute point and one I don’t think we’ve mentioned enough when discussing the Caste System and it’s overall harm. I’ll be certain to use it next time I’m discussing football with a DWF.

Some of the top plays of Edelman’s career show his versatility and why he was so dangerous. I really enjoyed watching him compete and he provided us all with some awesome memories.

I hope Julian can ride off into retirement and enjoy a quite life. He needs to ditch the SJW rabbi shtick or otherwise we’ll eventually loathe him like another former great, Crissy Collinsworth(less).

Dat upside:

Browns signed DL Jadeveon Clowney, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.
Clowney will join his fourth team in four years after a 2020 season in which he didn't record a sack in eight games. He missed half the season with a knee injury -- a rarity for the usual-durable veteran. In Cleveland, Clowney, 28, stands to benefit from the attention opposing offenses will give to blocking Myles Garrett. The Browns in 2020 had Pro Football Focus' 11th best pass rush, posting the 12th lowest sack rate in the NFL.

bear In mind he was touted as a generational talent. He’s now an overrated journeyman and a bust when compared to the media hype all of the unaccountable “experts” showered him with

Clowney's statistics are comparable to those of Mike Mamula's statistics. Yet the anti-whites continue to falsely claim that Mamula was a bust. Meanwhile they act as if Clowney's is a top player. The usual racist double standard of the mainstream media.

White is Right is a blue collar poster. He brings a lunch pail with him to his PC. He’s just lacking swivel fingers.

White is Right is a stealthy, gritty overachiever who compensates for his lack of natural finger swivel with a finely honed and practiced typing technique.

This made me laugh out loud for real. We need as much humor as we can get these days. :)

In one final tribute to Edelman. I am a Wall of Fame poster but I am no way a hall of fame member I don't have the number the numbers. I guess I am a compiler...

The jeolousy of the ex players of Edelman who posted similar career numbers to various sports show contributers is rather pathetic, he is in the conversation because of the post season and because Lynn Swann basically got in because of spectacular plays in SB X and SBXIII.

Local sports talk show host/misanthrope Mark Madden wrote a screed about how Edelman isn't close to belonging in Canton, mostly citing his career stats and then comparing them to the likes of Emmanuel Sanders, whose are similar. Leaving out the matter of Edelman's racial apprenticeship -- comprehending that is well beyond the ability of Madden and DWFs -- I responded in the comments by mentioning Swann:

"It's easy to manipulate stats to make a case. For example, using Madden's logic, Lynn Swann shouldn't be in the Hall either. Edelman was a great, clutch player on great teams and was especially great in post-season games. Sounds a lot like Swann to me. Lynn deserved his induction and Edelman deserves to join him in Canton."

He's instinctive but has stiff fingers and boring fingertips.
