Giants and Raiders moving in the right direction. Have to give credit to (((Gettleman))) and the Gruden / Mayock tandem.

There are very few White safeties in the NFL and the Raiders are now hoarding 2 or 3, depending on how you treat Erik Harris. Interesting considering Mayock is a former safety himself.

The Broncos traded Andy Janovich to the Browns. At least the Browns are putting competent football players around Mayfield. Janovich flashed at times and is more than just a stereotypical FB.


It sounds like the Brady to the Bucs rumors are now confirmed. Hard to really feel sentimental given the circumstances in which we are all living in now but even if it were business as usual I am not really bothered by this at all. Brady has said he wants to play until he is 45 - which is 2 more seasons and that is probably all he has left in the tank. He is putting his legacy on the line somewhat by disconnecting himself from the Pats and Belichek so I give him credit for that. That Pats haven't been a white friendly team in a few years and every season they purge a few more whites from the roster - this time it is one of the best all time QBs. The Pats are no longer must see TV and Belichek's praise of Alabama and the SEC has composed a roster of underachieving upsiders rather than being made up of the types of athletes that led to an impressive two decade run. The key cogs - Brady, Welker, Woodhead, Gronkowski are all gone and the secondary players Amendola and Hogan were written off before their time by Belichek. The last remaining piece in place is Edelman.

I will be interested to see if the Patriots stick with Stidham at QB and like I said before I would like to see the Bucs draft a young white QB to groom for a couple of seasons behind Brady in Tampa Bay.

Well said. A couple of things though. I think Brady sees the writing on the wall in NE and decided to move on. The upside to Brady going to Tampa is that they have two White receivers on the roster, reminiscent of a typical New England team during his reign. The downside is that the head coach is Bruce "Anti"-Aryans, who had all blacks as coordinators last season and even a couple feminists on his staff.

Brady should have a lot of say-so about the offensive scheme, and maybe Justin Watson will be the third receiver and Scott Miller the fourth in a best case scenario as Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are entrenched as the starters. Breshad Perriman finally did something last season after previously being a mega-bust first round pick. He's now a free agent, hopefully he signs elsewhere otherwise it's difficult to see Watson or Miller breaking through with much playing time in '20.

no doubt that it's part of the reason why it darkened up and Belichick is probably arrogant enough to think that he can win with Just anybody. He fails to see that a big part of his dynasty was finding cheap underated White talent. It was a plug and play offense but only because there's so many talented White guys that could step up if given the chance. People want to say it's the "system" but it would work on any team. Edelman is the only one who did well in the magical "system".
Speaking of which I just looked up the stats for the Pats, Burkhead averaged a yard more per carry than the other 2 backs that got more carries, and averaged a yard more per catch, kind of stupid they don't use him more.

I imagine he'll be replacing Matakevich as the team's designated WSTD. He may possibly be used as a blocker some but the Steelers haven't made heavy use of a fullback since the '70s. Even Merrill Hoge was underused after Bill Cowher replaced Chuck Noll and unceremoniously demoted Hoge from being the team's leading runner (as a hybrid halfback-fullback) to a human bowling ball.

Having two Watt brothers will also be hyped by the media as a cute story. But no one will ask why Derek can't be a power back given how great the other two Watt brothers are at their positions.

I’ll weigh in on Pittsburgh for a second.....Last year they had Watt, Chick, Tyler M and Sutton Smith.....The linebacker group looked great.....Dupree has one good year and gets 16 million, Smith got dismissed, and now the others are gone as well,...,,The local DWFs day good riddance to Tyler and Chick like they never should have been on the team at all...
I’d rather have Chick start at 7 million than Dupree at 16.....

Graham played his college football at Yale (defensive end), beginning in the mid-1990's. When Graham played, I believe Ivy League schools tended to cut mediocre student-athletes a bit less slack than they have in recent years.

Graham spent a long time as a position coach with the Patriots, then made his way to Green Bay for one year in 2018, where coached the linebackers -- Martinez and Fackrell had career years with Graham. He left G.B. for Miami last year, following his friend Brian Flores. With Graham's urging, as defensive coordinator, the Dolphins traded for ex-Packer linebacker Vince Biegel, even though he never did anything in Green Bay to warrant that confidence, DWF's might say? But Biegel came through big time for Graham as a starter and was recently awarded with a nice extension by the Dolphins. Having spent time in Wisconsin in 2018, Graham might've also persuaded the Dolphins to draft ex-Badger OLB Andrew Van Ginkel? AVG played really well in Miami after returning from the I.R.? Hopefully the Dolphins new D.C. is as fair minded as Graham, to AVG and Biegel?

With Graham in the fold, the Giants will utilize a 3-4 base defense. Connelly coming back from injury should be a starter. Mayo played well enough to be a starter last season and Martinez got starters money! Problem is all three are inside linebackers. My guess is, coming off a ACL injury, Connelly and Mayo split one spot, Martinez also starts, barring injury. Fackrell starts early, but has to stave a pair of "upsiders" from recent drafts. Giants suddenly have 4 top notch white linebackers on their roster, with 3 likely starting. Probably hasn't happened since the 1970's?

I haven't watched the Giants for years and years. Maybe decades other than a very rare game if if met something and always rooted for the other teams. This is a step in the right direction. They also have a potential franchise qb for the next decade. Keep moving this way and I will be a fan again for the first time in decades. Would love to see them have a stud receiver but not much out there as far as our guys. Either way, respect is due and same to the Raiders moving in the right direction. All anyone asks is to be fair to our guys. Talent should play regardless of skin color. Coach's & scouts disagree.

I really don't know how anyone can analyze the influx of white talent coming into the raiders as anything other than ideological. Hats of to Mayock and Gruden for having the stones to do it and not give a damn about the so called "black locker room" dynamics and putting together a real team with a real culture. Nice write-up @Truthteller . Good job connecting the dots and Graham seems like a fair minded coach! Not that it's likely, but I do know that Connelly played some OLB while at Wisconsin in a 3-4. So he offers some versatility, let's just hope his rehab is going well.

I also agree with @white lightning. Both Raiders and Giants trending up. Two teams I've never really cared about are a lot more interesting these days.
