Im very skeptical as to the fluidity of this move....the dude is like 6'7 280, hes not playing linebacker, hes probably just going to get cut but who knows maybe Bruce Arians knows sometime I dont

The Bucs are transitioning to a 3-4 defense. It seems to me Nassib is a better fit as a DE in that system than as a linebacker.

It's still early but it would be cool if the Steelers have a heavily used White receiver for the first time in generations.

Ryan Switzer is beating Eli Rogers in Steelers training camp battle

by Andrew Ortenberg

There’s been so much talk about Antonio Brown this offseason, that you’d be forgiven for forgetting about the receivers actually on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster. JuJu Smith-Schuster will absolutely be the top wideout, but after him the depth chart is a bit unsettled.

The team signed Donte Moncrief and also has second-year player James Washington, but they’ll likely both be playing on the outside. There will be an interesting battle this offseason to be the team’s starting slot receiver, with Ryan Switzer and Eli Rogers competing.

Rogers has more experience with the team, but it looks like that might not matter.

“Ryan Switzer seems stronger,” Jim Wexell of 247Sports wrote of Switzer, who is entering his third NFL season. “He looks to be ahead of Eli Rogers in the race for the small, elusive slot receiver.”

Switzer has switched homes a lot during his brief time in the league. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in 2017, he was traded to the Raiders after his rookie season. Shortly after, he was flipped to the Steelers.

In his first season in Pittsburgh, he put up 36 receptions for 253 yards, while also serving as the team’s primary returner.

He’s looking for a bigger role on offense this year, and we already know quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is a fan of his.

“Just be dependable,” Roethlisberger said last season when asked what Switzer had done to earn playing time. “Be a guy that is where he is supposed to be. Tough little booger. He makes a lot of plays, gets hit a lot, but just doesn’t make a lot of the same mistakes twice.”

If he has Roethlisberger’s trust, he’s well on his way to earning more targets.

If he’s passed Rogers on the depth chart, he likely won’t be giving up his spot anytime soon.

Following up on Don's recent posts regarding fledging white wide receivers I think that in a natural world we have lot of potential lining up for this season. If things break right this could be a really fun season. And it shouldn't be that hard to pull off but reality has a way of breaking hearts and as sure as the sun rises things could easily fall apart as well.

But if things did turn out well this is what it could sort of look like, see below. And the always important motto is staying away from injuries which is essential for all of the white WRs.

So a brief overview on what I think we all hope happens. I am probably leaving out a few wide receivers. And the hope is that Danny Amendola for Detroit has enough left and Trent Taylor of the 49ers can emerge from his underwhelming first two years in the league.

Trey Quinn starts and becomes a dependable and very solid slot for Washington.

Jake Kumerow emerges as a target for Rodgers and the Packers.

Adam Thielen continues to add to his burgeoning legend and Jordan Taylor finally emerges from the shadows.

Chris Hogan becomes a notable starter for Carolina.

Justin Watson becomes a notable starter for the Bucs. And speedster Scott Miller figures in one way or another.

Adam Humphries continues his upward climb and becomes a big target for the Titans.

Cooper Kupp returns fully healthy and back in form. His absence probably cost the Rams a Super Bowl.

Andy Isabella becomes an instant star and one of the most exciting players in the NFL for Arizona.

Cole Beasley has his best ever year in his new surroundings in Buffalo. And David Sills and Josh Allen become a swell tandem that lasts for years.

Julien Edelman continues to amaze with help from newcomer Braxton Berrios keeping the Pats tradition alive.

Alex Erickson of the Bengals gets more playing time in addition to his returning duties.

Ryan Switzer finally emerges in the slot and becomes a star for the Steelers.

Gehrig Dieter and Cody Thompson both make the Chiefs and contribute in meaningful ways.

Dylan Cantrell becomes a starter for the Chargers and becomes a go to player for Rivers.

Hunter Renfrow hits the ground running for the Raiders.

On the surface not a lot to ask for but the devil is in the details and the politics. But here is hoping the puzzle pieces above all fall into place. Plus the hope some fringe newer players like Riley McCarron as an example get to make contributions.

I’ve been following Scotty Miller very closely so far since he’s been drafted and all signs are positive. It seems like they love the guy despite being a 6th round pick (they really wanted him but knew they could get him late in the draft), so they have a role for him. He has been one of the 3 auditioning for kick/punt return roles and here’s the quotes about how he did today in practice. I’m extremely excited for him.

-Rookie wide receiver Scotty Miller connected on a deep ball all the way down the field. He beat the coverage using his speed because, duh, and was able to track the ball through the air to haul in the catch for a touchdown.

He wasn’t done on the day, either. To the delight of the Season Pass Members in the stands, Miller caught a beautiful back-shoulder fade route down the sideline closest to the bleachers. It was a great catch and even more beautiful throw by quarterback Jameis Winston, who seems to be connecting with Miller so far this offseason.

Looking forward to watching the Bills play. Pretty sure that's my 1st time saying that! Even us hardened CF vets were surprised to see Sills go UDFA. Seems he landed in a good spot though!

Here's the slow, unathletic Hunter Renfro showing off his non-stop motor:

Nice post!

Hope springs eternal and I think you’ve perfectly summarized the best case scenario for the coming season. Nothing you wrote is a wild stretch so if we factor in a few injuries and a few guys getting screwed, we could still get 75% of those positive developments. That would be a great season especially if White TEs continue to dominate and CMac runs wild again.

The Rams and Vikings should be fun to watch this year, both in terms of whiteness and being contenders. I hope we see them in the NFC Championship.

Heck I'm looking forward to the Lions. They added Jesse James and a 1st round TE Hockingson, Amendola in the slot, and a possibility of Zenner at RB. Hopefully they add some guys on the D.

This is absolutely disgusting even for a society in which black athletes have endless black privilege -- caught red-handed after an audiotape emerged after not being charged initially, and again walking away scot-free apparently. And you can bet there won't be a peep from the feminists and other anti-Whites.

According to Laura Bauer and Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star, a police probe into Tyreek Hill's child abuse allegations is no longer active.
"It is not an active investigation," Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe confirmed in an email Friday morning. "As in any case, if we receive additional evidence we reevaluate." The case was reopened after disturbing audio from a conversation between Hill and his fiancee was released in late April, but apparently Johnson Country police felt there wasn't enough evidence to file charges. Unless a new development breaks, Hill appears to be in the clear legally, though his standing with the NFL is much shakier. The Chiefs have suspended the troubled wideout from team activities until further notice.

Here in Chiefs Land this is a polarizing subject. To their credit, many of the folks commenting on the various news forums share the same train of thought as we here at CF do. Rumors are flying that the DA was paid off, yada yada yada, etc., we'll probably never know the truth. Expect Hill to be in camp, though. Here is an interesting take in the NY Post. It's too long to post in it's entirety here and this thread is derailed enough by this: https://nypost.com/2019/05/02/tyreek-hill-fights-back-in-letter-childs-mother-is-to-blame/

Don't worry, the guy'll screw up again. It's inevitable - written in stone.

More than any season in recent memory it seems to me there are so many questions that need to be addressed. One of the big mysteries is whether "casteholic" HC Bruce Arians gets cured and stays off the caste bottle? He has been sucking that bottle for a long time.

Opportunities abound at Tampa Bay on both sides of the ball including that rarity outside of New England where two white WRs have a chance to make some big noise.

As we know things can look a bit rosy for white players in the spring. Too often come fall they find themselves in a ditch.

But so far WR Scott Miller is being praised and I like the fact they don't exclusively see him as slot who only runs 6 yard patterns which has become an overused staple for white slot WRs. They seem to understand he is a viable deep option too. See below.

Looks like Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph signed a four year 36 million extension. Quick tough take charge rookie center Garrett Bradbury is a bright new addition to an offensive line last season that was truly awful. They tried to address that problem this off season and so look for an improvement. And for Cousins to have proper time to pass.

With Rudolph and rookie Irv Smith, who could turn out to be decent, they are all set at TE.

Chad Beebe and Jordan Taylor might figure in at WR to go along with Diggs and of course Thielen. The Vikings might have the best WR core in the NFL?

Cousins is ready to explode so expect fireworks.

The defense however is not as good as billed so that might become a concern. It was overlooked last season but they need to tighten up.

Nice breakdown of WR's Shadowlight. DeSean Jackson got tired of Jameis Winston's(make or break year?) lack of ability to get him the deep ball...hopefully the comparable Scotty Miller can have better chemistry.

LB Andrew Van Ginkel is simply a play maker. Should have a bright future & big impact for the Dolphins!

May be a long shot ...but like Sean Peyton's way of thinking here lately; giving a star Rugby player a shot in mini camp...5'-10" 191 Tristen Blewitt .. article says " It is unclear which position the Saints will try to play Blewett. But the skill sets for the position he plays in rugby look most likely to translate to those of a running back, a slot receiver, a safety, gunner or kickoff and punt returns".

All the skill positions are mentioned except Corner Back of course....

Here's another positive article on Hunter Renfrow, which indicates Oakland may play him outside as well as inside. It's still just June, but I'm encouraged with the positive press Renfrow and Isabella are receiving. They both have a decent chance to play a fair amount as rookies rather than being put through the heretofore obligatory racial apprenticeship. It's reminiscent of the way the Rams used Cooper Kupp right away. Scott Miller and Braxton Berrios are also getting some favorable coverage. Could it be that the uptick in successful White receivers in recent years combined with near domination of the tight end position has created more respect for White receivers in the NFL? At least we can hope so.

Renfrow Has a Chance to Catch on With Raiders

Fifth-round pick played mostly from the slot at Clemson, but will be asked to play all over the field for Oakland

By Doug Williams

When the Raiders open minicamp Tuesday, they’ll get their first real look at a revamped corps of wide receivers.

Former Steeler Antonio Brown and ex-Charger Tyrell Williams already are penciled in as starters, but the rest of the group is a question mark. There’s plenty of talent with former Cardinal JJ Nelson, Ryan Grant, formerly of Washington/Indianapolis, young holdovers Keon Hatcher and Marcell Ateman, and Hunter Renfrow, a fifth-round pick out of Clemson.

How Renfrow performs – and where he lines up – will be an interesting story line this week and into training camp.

Though he mostly played as a slot receiver in college, the 5-foot-10, 184-pounder is expected to be used all over the field. At Clemson he had 60- and 49-catch seasons his final two years. He was known for his quickness, instincts, good hands and ability to make big catches in big moments.
Renfrow also believes he makes a lot of plays with his brain.

"I’m not the biggest guy out there," he told Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I’m not the fastest, but I feel like I can out-think people at times. I think that’s such a big part fo the game that people don’t realize. You have to be able to play, definitely, but you have to be able to out-think people, out-work people. A guy who knows what he’s going to do before he does it is a lot more dangerous than a guy out there big and fast but has no clue what’s going on."

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden saw what Renfrow did as a slot receiver at Clemson, but wants him to learn routes from the other two positions as well.

"He’s going to have to move to the right, to the left, inside, outside, go in motion – do it all," said Gruden. "And that’s something we are going to have to find out as we move on."

If Renfrow can show the Raiders at minicamp this week and into training camp and exhibition games that he can get open – and catch the ball – the team will have a nice complement to Brown and Williams. At Clemson Renfrow’s forte was holding on to passes if he got his hands on them.

According to the analytic website Pro Football Focus, Renfrow in 2018 had the lowest drop rate of any wide receiver in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Renfrow dropped just 2 percent of catchable throws in 2018.
