Seems like as good a landing spot as we could hope for. Maybe that NE connection that Fat Matt and the GM Bob Quinn has finally paid off for a White player?!

Yep, it's also a good sign that Adam Humphries will get a nice contract from a team, and hopefully Chris Hogan and Cole Beasley also.

The Jets have signed Jamison Crowder away from Washington. This is potentially good news for Trey Quinn as Crowder had been the Redskins' starting slot receiver for the past few years.

Fascinating stuff from Bucky Brooks yesterday: Abner is seeing his trade value drop like like a led balloon in Arizona; Kyler Murray can't be criticized by "rayciss peoples" and Bruce Arians is a modern day, white Rosa Parks?

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...otential-trade-value-is-tyreek-hill-a-100m-wr

Looks like no wants "Little Orphan Abner" from Arizona? One NFC executive praises him a bit, then said he's only worth a 4th rounder, at best. That's quite a drop, as Arizona traded up to draft him #10 overall last spring. As I've noted a million times, he doesn't have the make up to last in a NFL locker room. At best he's a Blaine Gabbert type career back up. And even that might be wishful thinking, in the longer term.

The blacks probably see him as a stereotypical liberal rich "white boy" from the Beverly Hills area, that comes off as an arrogant, know-it-all -- like they did at UCLA. My guess is whites in football hate him just as much. Most NFL white offensive linemen, fullbacks and tight ends are "alpha-males", they don't want to deal with some neurotic clown that seems like he's a militant anti-fa protester during the day and Rachel Maddow Show writer at night. I don't see where he fits in the NFL, beyond a few years of holding a clipboard? Even connected media types (ESPN, SI.com) have been saying for three years Abner "rubs his teammates the wrong way".

I don't know if Bruce Arians will go down as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, but he will certainly be viewed as one of the game's most influential leaders based on his commitment to diversity in the coaching ranks. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers new head coach continues to be at the forefront of the movement when he told Melissa Jacobs of TheFootballGirl.com that he plans to establish a full-time coaching position on his staff for a woman.

At a time when the NFL is being heavily scrutinized for the lack of minorities hired during the last coaching cycle, Arians has been the most inclusive coach in the league. The Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history to have three African-American coaches in coordinator positions (Byron Leftwich, offensive coordinator; Todd Bowles, defensive coordinator; Keith Armstrong, special teams coordinator). His assistant head coach, Harold Goodwin, is also African-American...

"It tells you what kind of man he is," Goodwin told reporters at an introductory press conference in January, per Pewter Report. "He doesn't see color or where you came from. He doesn't care how you got here. As long as you get with him and if you're loyal to him and he can trust you, he's always going to look out for you."

Actually, that's total bull$hit. He does see color....if you are white you probably should not bother to apply. Particularly if you are a white athlete trying to make a Arians coached team at a "taboo position". This clown had a nephew** who ran 4.5/40 (at 6'3") and was considered an NFL prospect a few years ago. Bruce wouldn't even give his nephew a spot on Arizona's practice squad, as a white wide receiver? When Arians' nephew was on the roster, fellow white receiver Jaxon Shipley was dominating in OTA's and Pre-season games and he was really screwed.

What do you think Arians will do with a much more talented Justin Watson, who, like his nephew played at small school in the state of Pennsylvania? Best Watson can do is go the Kevin Walter route: Excel on special teams coverage and get some catches as a 4th or 5th receiver, then hope for a new coaching staff in Tampa (soon) or leave via free agency.

If I were Adam Humphries, I'd get out of there as fast I can, even though he seemed to have a great chemistry with Jameis Winston. Can't guarantee he'll have that with his next quarterback. I feel awful for Beau Allen, Carl Nassib and other whites on defense. Although I would not be totally shocked if black DC Todd Bowles recommend they sign Henry Anderson to be the Bucs "token defensive cracker". He played that same role for the Jets in 2018 and thrived.

Foles gets $88 million for 4 years from Jax -- he's gotta be one happy guy right now as that was supposedly the only team interested in him as a starter.

The Titans signed Adam Humphries, terms not disclosed yet by Weenieworld. The Titans have a mediocre receiving corps to put it kindly, so there's some potential there for Adam to thrive.

Here's some unexpected good news. Kroft should win the starting TE job on Buffalo. Three years for almost $19 million is starter's money:

Bills signed TE Tyler Kroft to a three-year, $18.75 million contract.
He will compete for playing time with Jason Croom, Logan Thomas, and perhaps a draft pick. The Bengals' third-round pick in 2015, Kroft averaged fewer than ten yards per reception across four seasons in Cincinnati, although he did score seven touchdowns in 2017. Kroft missed virtually all of last season with a broken foot. He is unlikely to become a fantasy factor in Buffalo.

The titans offense is run heavy and mariota has proven himself to be a middle of the pack qb so hopefully Humphries is able to get the ball enough. It’s nice to see him get signed by a team other than the patriots though.

Glad to see Foles get paid. Coughlin better draft and bring in some more white FAs to get that locker room in order though. I always liked Bortles so stinks to admit he was somewhat of a bust. I wonder where he will end up.

The Bills signed Frank Gore - he will be 36 at the start of the season. McCoy will be 31. I am sure Ryan Nall will get cut as the Bears are supposedly interested in some black draft prospect RB from Nebraska. Would be nice to see Nall end up there. Probably won't happen though.

The Cardinals situation is becoming funny. As I have stated - politics aside I would rather see Rosen perform well as he is the prototypical passing QB. I do very much appreciate the angle Truthteller is taking though so it really does not seem like a big loss. Arizona could be bluffing or not - if they go with Murray I am sure it will end up unsuccessful as well. I also agree with TT on Arians - the fat caste ******* stooge he is.

It looks like Detroit signed former Steelers TE Jesse James - good for him. A real underrated TE.

Just went to a Titans forum......their fans seem pretty happy with the Humphreys signing. Not bad for an undrafted FA.......$36 million over four years!

Leonardfan, I agree with your point on Humphries. Tennessee certainly isn't an ideal spot for him, as Mariota is mediocre throwing the ball and it's mostly a smash-mouth, running offense. I hope his career does not take a nose-dive there, but I would've much rather seen him go elsewhere. We saw in Tampa the last two seasons how his stats plummeted when Winston was out. He needs the right fit. I fear Mariota might not be ideal? Oh, well at least he got a huge deal?

As far as the Cardinals, I definitely think (all politics aside) they are having problems with their 2018 first round pick (#10 overall). Not sure if they are bluffing with Murray going #1 overall, but I think they will have new quarterback. Even if it means trading down and still getting Murray or Haskins in the top 10. Anytime you draft a quarterback 10th overall, then you have scouts and execs saying he's only worth a 4th rounder (or 3rd) after one season, you know there are issues. Simply put, I don't think he's well liked at all, by teammates, of any race. Same thing happened at UCLA.

I mentioned Arians cutting his nephew. In fairness, perhaps he was nothing special -- but not even a practice squad spot? He wasn't terrible?

But I remember in 2015 and 2016 how good Jaxon Shipley was. In 2015, he settled for a practice squad spot after Arians screwed him. In 2016, after being cut, he was frustrated and retired, then went into coaching at like 24? If Arians really didn't see color or where you came from, Shipley would've been a free agent this week and signed for millions, like the other white slot receivers. Look at how the Caste media spoke glowingly of him a couple years ago in these short videos. I'm sure there where a lot more amazing plays those two pre-seasons.

Mixed results for me too, I'm with Truthteller on Humphries. First glad to see Amendola will still be playing and the Lions could use some more white players.

As for Adam Humphries it is nice to see he got a respectful 4 year deal which he deserved. But teaming up with scattershot Mariota is worrisome. Decker was with Mariota for a year and the results were mixed at best.

Can Mariota provide a stable enough atmosphere for Humphries to thrive on a consistent basis? History suggests no. But let's hope for the best and as mentioned above Adam should stand out quickly since this team lacks decent wide receivers.

According to this article, the Titans' main competition for Humphries was the Patriots. I think it's healthy, potentially at least, to see Humphries and Amendola going somewhere besides New England (and Minnesota). As long as they're not screwed over. Same for Hogan and Beasley, though I want Hogan to stay where he is in spite of being woefully underused last season.

It also shows the Patriots are still interested in stockpiling their "Wes Welker types." They have Berrios, who may be the only receiver left on the roster besides Edelman and a couple scrubs if Hogan and their free agent black receivers sign elsewhere (Patterson and Dorsett are both poor receivers anyway), and then we have to wait and see where Isabella and Sills end up (and hopefully Renfrew and Thompson, too).

NFL Rumors: Titans Outbid Patriots To Sign Slot Receiver Adam Humphries

The New England Patriots reportedly made a play for one of the top slot receivers available in free agency Monday but weren’t willing to fork over the necessary cash.

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Patriots were in the running to sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Adam Humphries but were outbid by the Tennessee Titans, who gave Humphries a four-year, $36 million contract.

The Titans were bidding against the New England Patriots for Humphries all day per source. In the end, the Titans land him.

Source says four years, $36 million for Adam Humphries in Tennessee.

Humphries, who set career highs with 76 catches, 816 yards and five touchdowns this past season, often was mentioned as a potential Patriots target during the leadup to free agency.

The 25-year-old became the second slot receiver to command big money Monday after Jamison Crowder reportedly agreed to a three-year, $28.5 million deal with the New York Jets that includes $17 million in guaranteed money. Neither signing can be made official until the NFL league year opens Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The Patriots have a glaring need at receiver with only Julian Edelman, Braxton Berrios, Damoun Patterson and special teamer Matthew Slater currently under contract for the 2019 season. Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson all are set to hit free agency this week.

Bad news for the Patriots retaining Hogan if this super bonehead manages to get reinstated once again. Can't see any team giving up a second round draft pick for Gordon:

Patriots assigned an original-round tender to restricted free agent Josh Gordon.
The tender will pay him $2.025 million assuming he is able to get reinstated. Because he entered the league as a second-round pick, that is what teams will have to give up in order to sign him away. In other words, he will be a Patriot if he is able to play this season.

Lions add another good guy to the team by signing TE Jesse James from the Steelers. 2nd year in a row they've signed an underused talented white TE (Luke Wilson). Might be worth watching them again if they keep Zenner.

Just saw this. Another example of how far the rot has gone...Minority Coaching assistance ship, diversity coaching fellowship?!? It's not enough they make up the majority of the players and get special consideration for coaching jobs now they have their own blacks only coaching jobs. What a load of sh*t!!!

Lions add coach
Leon Washington - WCF Minority Coaching assistantship/Offense & special teams
You may remember Washington’s playing career as an NFL running back. He played as recently as 2014 with the Titans and also spent a very brief amount of time with the New England back in 2013. Though he was mostly a backup, he averaged 4.7 yards per carry in his career.

It’s unclear what his role will be in Detroit, but Washington is continuing to transition to his coaching career. In 2016 and 2018, he completed diversity coaching fellowships with the Jaguarsand Falcons respectively.

Apart from the Lions the current FA action so far has been annoying. Teams handing out loads of money for mediocre black talent. Anthony Barr? Please. A very limited LB.

Seems like teams like the Jets are going caste wild or other teams like the Packers are nabbing players who might block a rising white star. To wit, they have acquired pass rushers as if to say Kyler Fackrell's breakout season isn't something they want to build on.

I guess the savory Isabella to Bills watch might be caput. They just signed mediocre small speedster WR John Brown to a 3 year deal.

So who is left to nab Andy? I can't even begin to guess.

And I just can't stand Mariota. I can tolerate a non white QB who can pass in the pocket especially if they have white targets. Rare sight I know. But Mariota has always been a look at me "run first" scramble scattershot type the media drools over. I hope I am wrong but I find it hard to envision WR Adam Humphries flourishing with regularity with him. Funny how there is never any talk of replacing Mariota. The Titans have been caste laden for years. Will they change their ways with this draft? Probably not.

Also getting this paranoid sensation that the league is hell bent on getting rid of white defensive backs despite the Weddle to Rams 2 year deal. Are the Chiefs trying to send Sorensen back to the sidelines?

One thing to look for as ass wipe Antonio Brown joins the Raiders. He will be teamed with Jordy Nelson and Jordy is not only a first class human being but he is also a consummate well respected pro. Not sure Brown will pull his jackass routine on cue with a player like Jordy on his team. Jordy also has something Brown doesn't have. A Super Bowl ring.

As I mentioned earlier we won't be able to grade teams until after the draft is completed but so far I do not like what I am seeing with Adam Gase and the Jets. Why weren't they in the Adam Humphries hunt preferring to get shaky on and off again slot WR Jamison Crowder instead?

As for the Lions they could move up on my list if they follow up their FA moves by drafting white defenders. Something they have been allergic to for years.

Teams have no excuses this go around. There are plenty of white defensive stars to choose from in this draft.

Cole Beasley to the Bills, 4 yrs. $29 million, very nice contract for him! I'm happy with Beasley and Humphries getting paid and getting paid enough that they should have prominent roles, even if they're still underpaid compared to what blacks with the same skills and production make. Also Amendola did well getting a decent one year deal at his age and with his injury history.

Now the next big domino to fall is Chris Hogan. Also, just as I had hoped for in the Zenner thread, there's a report that the Vikings are interested in signing Zach. That would be the optimum place for him to go as Latavius Murray was just signed by New Orleans. . . keep your fingers crossed.

With apologies to older players near the end of their careers like Amendola and Weddle, the Beasley to Bills news is the first really good news I have heard so far in this FA period. Gives Josh Allen a much needed security blanket. Surprised too after the John Brown signing but Brown isn't a true slot despite his size whereas Cole is a consummate slot.

Nice reporting on the WR FA scene Don.

Barf at The Packers signings..Overpaid for a bunch of mid level starters. Guaranteed Fackrell will be caste aside now . DWFs finally get their affletes.

**ESPN already reporting that Green Bay has signed 3 Defensive Starters. That didn't take long to write off Fackrell.

Even though I think getting WR John Brown is a reach, when you look at what the Bills are doing they have properly recognized that Josh Allen needs a better complimentary cast. It was so obvious that his supporting cast was among the worst in the NFL.

They have loaded up and upgraded with two or maybe three offensive linemen (along with a decent TE)
the past couple of days. Of course the key signing of Cole Beasley which is a huge upgrade from the collection of clueless wide receivers Allen had to deal with last season.

The next step for the Bills is to beef up the defense and as we have discussed there are plenty of budding white defenders to choose from in this draft.

I too Like the effort by The Bills to bulk up their Skill players. Kroft and Beasley should help out Allen a lot on short and intermediate routes and Brown can get deep despite being frail.

I found this S.I. article to be interesting:
NFL Agents Poll: What Are the Best and Worst Landing Spots for Free Agents?
One particularly telling quote from an anonymous agent was this: "Said another agent: “It’s an interesting question because players don’t really know, so they just look at city and nightlife and a bunch of s--- that doesn’t matter.”

I was honestly surprised that the Patriots weren't in the top 5.

I'm really disappointed in Zenner re-upping to get screwed another year by the Lions. He probably gave them a "hometown discount" too and signed dirt cheap.

The Vikings are his actual hometown team as he grew up in Minnesota. But more importantly the Vikings are one of the very few relatively White friendly teams at this time in the league. With Latavius Murray signed by the Saints, he should have signed with the Vikings, where he would have had a far better chance of being used closer to his abilities. A huge opportunity squandered.

White players never seem to use the considerations you mention when they choose were to sign on.
