This is yet another case where a team has two tight ends, one a lunch pail guy with a non-stop motor, and the other an incredible athlete with mouth-watering upside. Lol I think any and every afflete drafted with a white incumbent in front of them is projected to instantly be an upgrade and starter. Heard it frequently during the draft. Typical BS. Monte Ball was a bigger bust. At least Tebow had some success with a crappy team. Ball was a 2nd Rd pick and couldn't earn PT with Manning under center. Plus Tebow was always in tip top shape, whereas Ball couldn't stop eating and ballooned up to 250 range, 30lbs more than his college playing weight. ESPN Rams reporter Alden Gonzalez expects third-round WR Cooper Kupp to be Jared Goff's "security blanket." Robert Woods and Tavon Austin should open the season as the Rams' top two receivers, but Kupp is expected to man the slot in three-receiver sets. Kupp has drawn consistent praise in padless practices. "He came in here not like most rookies do," were the words of OC Matt LaFleur. "He’s an extremely polished route runner, got great hands. You can tell he works at his craft each and every day. He does a great job." That's great, but Kupp is still a slot man with 4.62 speed playing with Jared Goff. He would do well to carve out WR4 value.

I was thinking about that earlier today. Baltimore would almost be New England south if that happens. But Jeremy Maclin is visiting Baltimore and they are one of the teams prominently mentioned (along with Buffalo) who are interested in him. The Ravens signing Maclin would be a double-bad as it would not only make it unlikely they sign Decker, but Maclin would play mainly inside, the starting position Campanaro currently has the clear lead for. So let's hope the Bills or anyone other than Baltimore signs Maclin.

Unfortunately Maclin signed with Baltimore. Campanaro likely loses his chance for significant playing time.

Hopefully Decker signs with a team that has a good quarterback. Baltimore is apparently still in the picture. I'd hate to see him end up with Buffalo.

Agreed, Camp needs to stay healthy as well. Spending his first couple years on IR didn't help his situation any either. Very talented when he's 100%

As best I can tell, not a single team is currently seriously pursuing Eric Decker. He's only been one of the top 10 or 15 receivers in the league before being injured last season and could start for any team in the NFL. It was bad enough last year when Brian Hartline and Toby Gerhart didn't have a single team interested in them even as backups; it would be an unspeakable outrage if Decker's career is finished, though I don't think even the Caste NFL is capable of that.

Baltimore had been the only team actively interested but now that they have the "great" Jeremy Maclin. . . Decker is better than any receiver on that team.

Owner Steve Bisciotti indicated Tuesday that the Ravens won't be pursuing free agent Eric Decker. Bisciotti believes the Ravens are set at receiver with Breshad Perriman and Chris Moore behind Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace, and Baltimore's greater need is on the offensive line. "We’ve got some money and we’re quite sure that some offensive line help is going to shake out," said Bisciotti. "I’d say that I don’t think that we have room for a starter at wide receiver now ... I think I’m going to save that last punch for an offensive lineman."

Decker is better than 90% of the receivers currently on rosters in the league. Off the top of my head the Redskins, 49ers, Colts, Chargers could all easily use him. He gets cut yet Brandon Marshall who is 4 years his senior gets another deal right away with the Giants, Pierre Garcon gets a deal with the 49ers, Terelle Pryor gets a deal with the Redskins - give me a break.

It looks like Decker might be following the Brian Hartline path right out of the NFL - guilty of being a very good white WR that no one wants because he is white.
