NFL News, Rumors and Musings

Another sumo bites the dust! The Giants released first round megabust Erick Flowers today. He'll probably get a job with some other team in the Casteian NFL. If he were white, a lineman that bad would be out of the league altogether.

THill is great to watch. He’s the type of ball player that you could just insert on defense at any time and he’d do well.....A hybrid linebacker/safety or just a spy on a running qb......

Hopefully they keep him involved. Stay healthy, young man......

RB Jay Ajayi is the leading rusher for the Eagles. He was just placed on IR.

Now's the time for the Eagles to do something smart. They should sign Ryan Nall to fill Ajayi's roster spot. Nall can be a good starter in the NFL.

I am really hoping they grab Nall or Zenner. Hell get both!

They want Leveon Bell.
For a fraction of the price, less headaches and lots of production, our guys are there for the taking......

I sincerely hope the Saints give him a shot as Brees' apprentice, not Teddy Sewerwater.

Long time Chargers owner Alex Spanos dies:

https://ktla.com/2018/10/09/longtime-chargers-owner-alex-spanos-dies-at-95/

I was raised a died in the wool Cowboys fan but always loved the Chargers (hey, they weren't a rival, so I could root for them!). I still think Dan Fouts is one of the greatest QBs of all time. Spanos bought the Chargers after Fouts had his great years but the Chargers are an enigma of sorts. AFL team, always seemed to just not get over the hump, great rivalry and literal fights with the Raiders. Just a cool team. Spanos was there for the lone SB run. RIP.

The NFL’s “one drop” rule: whitey drops one ball and he gets cut. (See Nick Williams and Riley McCarron).

I triple that one drop rule. And unlike black players who can relax knowing they have nine lives these unwritten rules put even further pressure on white athletes which causes many of them to play under extreme duress.

Very upsetting but you could see the Nick Williams throat cut a country mile away. White skill players are given a quarter of an inch rope. Given only half a chance to begin with one flub and they are banished.

Sickening!

Unlike when Al Davis died, with the death of Spanos his son will inherit the team as Spanos' wife passed away within the last year so the son will have to pay the inheritance tax.

In the past this has led to new ownership ie Cook's son in Washington.

The Chargers who have been the ugly step child of Los Angeles could have more market uncertainty along with ownership issues.

Of course these problems are all rich man problems as every poster and lurker would love to have this as the worst of their problems when they wake up in the morning.....

Jones should be on a team somewhere already. There's no way he isn't good enough to be at least a backup.

The mainstream media attacked Jones from the day he was drafted. They do this to a lot of white players. You wonder if this bad publicity might have had an effect on Jones signing somewhere.

As Leonardfan suggested the Bills would be smart to sign Jones and not throw Allen to the wolves. Jones might surprise people and do well as a starter.
Here Jones is out in free-agentville and the immortal Joe Webb is still employed. Black privilege.

Hopefully Cooper is good to go for Sunday's game:

The Los Angeles Rams had to play the second half of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks without two of their best playmakers on offense. Both Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks suffered head injuries that landed them in the concussion protocol, bringing into question their availability moving forward.

Fortunately, they’re trending in the right direction and could be available this weekend against the Broncos. Sean McVay said on Wednesday that they’re responding well and remain in the protocol, but he feels good about both playing on Sunday.

Jim Taylor died today, another link with the glory days of the NFL passed into history. No word on the cause of death, hopefully it was peaceful....http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...era-green-bay-packers-inducted-hall-fame-dies

Very sad news. Jim Taylor was an all-time great running back who's been mostly forgotten while his contemporary Jim Brown has been lionized to near god-like status.

I always thought Jim personified what a football player (and most White men for that matter) used to look like: tough as nails and nobody to mess with. He was from a much better era for White men. RIP

Amen. He was before my time but my dad always spoke very highly of him. An era of great White players. All but down the memory hole. Sad day indeed.

It seems that a lot of ppl die around the mid-80s. My parents both passed away in their mid-80s. It seems once you get there, you have lived a full life. RIP Jim.

In a humourous side note his drunken caste clown teammate Paul Hornung is still above ground. Taylor was always known for his hard work and spartan lifestyle as a player, while Hornung was a drinker and carouser who became a public lush late into life with his drunken musings about Black players and Notre Dame's desperate need to for them. Life is a bit of mystery when it comes to health...

Browns sign uber bust WR Breshad Perriman.

If I were the Browns I would have opted for a young, promising wide receiver such as Dylan Cantrell who is currently on a practice squad. Cantrell was good in college, tested out excellently athletically and played well in the preseason. What more do you want?
