Looks like Patrick Laird will get some reps at RB for Miami this weekend with Walton serving a four game suspension. ESPN FF projects him at 4 points.......

dwid, you've been around long enough to know the score mate, and answer those questions yourself.
I guess part of me is wondering when dwfs will come to the same conclusion. From limited browsing I see few people reaching the same conclusion but still too many people throwing excuses out there like "well if he hadn't gotten injured" It was the same thing with RG3. These people can't use common sense to look at the running back position and see there aren't many that are good after 30. So they act shocked when a guy who isn't built like a running back can't withstand the wear and tear. "Well if they just adapt their playing style" When has that ever happened? They have been playing this way for a long time . The reason they have success passing is because of their threat to run, once that is diminished it's a different game.

I think maybe the win now mentality is fooling these coaches. They are willing to discard pocket passers because it may take a few years for them to develop and there's a small chance you can have a few good years with a running qb right away. The success just isn't going to be consistent. They still get shut down in the postseason for the most part. They probably don't care though, as long as people are still buying tickets

It's just sad that we've seen these tiny victories at other positions, but the most important position for a team keeps getting screwed up.

It's supposedly a copycat league but no team wants to copy the success of the Patriots.

That's exactly the reason. Harbaugh's seat was getting really warm in Baltimore the last few seasons.

Perfect! I was just thinking he’d be best back with the Vikings as I was reading through the thread.

Now the Vikings need to be the Cowboys this weekend. Still amazed how much time Prescott has to throw the ball - the Cowboys o-line is very good - Smith, Frederick and Martin are arguably the best players at their respective positions, Elliot is a power back that the offense is built around and Prescott is essentially a game manager getting franchise QB hype. I love Sendejo's aggressiveness and hard hitting that have cause him to be labeled a "dirty player" - hopefully he gets to layout Prescott, Elliott or Cooper this weekend.

I recall a dormant poster saying that maybe management views run first qb's similar to stud running backs and only expect quality seasons until about 30 and then it's a year to year evaluation, similar to Newton breaking down and McNair to a lesser extent. As fabulous as Jackson is he is RGIII 2.0 if he gets a knee injury, they both have a spindly carriage and if he takes the punishment that Newton, McNair or Cunningham took will be a shot like them too as runners.

PS, even the few White qb's who ran were shot as runners past 30, seeing Elway do his helicopter spin in his last Superbowl was painful to watch compared to the grace he showed running for long runs against Cleveland two consecutive championship games.

Congratulations to former Ohio University star linebacker, and Miami Dolphins 2018 7th round pick Quentin Poling, who finally made his NFL debut last night on special teams for the Oakland Raiders: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PoliQu00.htm#

What a difference between the sad-sack (on and off-the field) 2017 Raiders led by @ss Clown Jack Del Rio and the current Raiders? Too bad such an iconic franchise is leaving Oakland, as the fans finally have a watchable team to root for.

A few days ago I was hoping the Panthers would cut Chris Hogan from injured reserve, allowing the possibility that he could be picked up by the Patriots. In a surprising move, Carolina is in process of bringing him back from injured reserve. But with Donte Moncrief recently signed, where does he fit in?.....Bad news out of San Fran is the 49ers desperately want to bring Trent Taylor back from injured reserve, but his foot problems have gotten worse since his injury (now has an infection). Looks like there is very little chance he'll return from the I.R. this season.

Thank you! I've been good just took a break from sports for a while. Thinking about doing highlight videos again if I can find the time. Just have to look through the college football section here to see which teams I should be looking at

It seems like Austin Hooper may miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. It'a shame because he could have ended up leading all tight end categories by the end of the year.

Ace tackling machine Nick Kwiatkowski may get to start for a while now. This is the final year of his rookie contract so he may finally get to start next year, whether for Chicago or another team. I'd like to see another team sign him as the Bears have let him rot on the bench for four seasons when he's an obvious starting talent.

LB Nick Kwiatkoski, CHI (8 solos, 1 asst, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 QH, 1 INT, 1 PD)
The Bears lost Danny Trevathan early in the game with a gruesome elbow injury but Kwiatkowski was a more than capable fill-in. He collected 9 tackles with a sack on his 65 snaps (78%) while also adding an interception. It doesn’t sound like a short-term injury for Trevathan so Kwiatkoski likely warrants a big upgrade this week, as well as a slight increase for Roquan Smith.

As much as I want to see Adam Thielen play this Sunday against the Broncos I hope he doesn't. Why do you ask? Because the big picture is more important. The Vikings have a bye
week coming up after playing Denver. So basically Thielen will have 2 to 3 more weeks of resting it. He can return for the final 6 games and take his frustration out on the league. I'm
hoping that with this injury, it will keep him alot more fresh for the playoffs. Adam Thielen is 29 years old and the Vikings will need him at full strength to have any chance of winning in
the playoffs. So think big picture here guys. ;)

Spot on analysis. Totally agree and they should be able to beat Denver without him. I want him to come back not only healthy, but fired up and help propel the Vikes deep in the playoffs. SB is the goal.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet, but Drue Tranquill finally got a start on Sunday after playing part-time for several weeks. All he did was make 14 tackles, 8 of them solo. Yet another instant tackling machine when given an opportunity. It's glaringly obvious that the lunch pail non-stop motor guys would dominate the linebacker position if not for the Caste System.

Video of Duhwayne Haskins on the sidelines pleading with his O-line for help has surfaced. It showed an uninterested and nearly unresponsive O-line. This is not a good sign for your franchise 1/4 back. His O-line doesn’t respect him.

When your players have mailed it in it's impossible to win, The Giants defensive secondary quit on Ben McAdoo and allowed huge run after catch plays because the safeties weren't interested in sticking their noses in tough tackling situations and just rode offensive players for an extra 20 yards on plays.

Many times teams quit on quarterbacks that have no chance of winning too and mutinies occur to over poor quarterbacks starting.

I haven't seen Haskins play but my guess is the line was probably blocking good at some point and he did nothing with it. Many black quarterbacks struggle like this. That's why I laugh when people call Cam a "mobile" qb. Yea he can run but he lacks pocket presence, takes too long to go through his reads and isn't good at shifting around the pocket to avoid pressure.

Here is the video. The guy is a moron. None of the other Redskins QB's were crying. Does he think he is special? Lmao.
