The only problem with Jimmer going and starting in Sacramento is he might end up taking minutes away from Beno Udrich, one of the only two whites currently on the team.
True, but I think that would be a good fit for Jimmer and probably the
highest he could go. Udrih would then be the fourth guard but I think the team would be better with Jimmer.
The other good fit for Jimmer would be Utah at 12. He could start and point guard with a good lineup around him.
Here's a nice article from the Yahoo Ball Don't Lie blog about Lithuanian forward/center Jonas Valanciunas and his draft status. Many "insiders" have him going top 5. From what I've seen of him by surfing around the web, if it weren't for his existing contract situation overseas, he might go # 1! Not bad for a white guy. Of course, most draft mocks have amazingly overrated Kyrie Irving going # 1.
Draft today, should be interesting how it plays out for whites. NBADraft.net and Draft Express has 13 whites being drafted of the 60 picks. However, if teams actually decide to draft people based on talent not skin color, we might be able to see a good deal of whites in the final ten picks. (Diebler, Reed, Howard, Charrelson, etc)
As the Draft approaches, White prospects are almost universally being "downgraded" -- while grossly-overrated affletes are being "upgraded"...
While this is expected to a point, I feel that the 1st round will be disappointing, although some might say that there could be a benefit to our athletes being selected a little later if it means they can contribute to a superior team.
I have no problem saying that guys like Chris Singleton, the Morris twins, Josh Selby and Klay Thompson are overrated. People are also acting like Bismack Biyombo will be the "next Serge Ibaka".. which is doubtful. He's active on the boards, but can he play defense on the NBA level, against players' that are much bigger than those he has played against previously?
i don't know anything at all about the foreign White cats in this draft. it will beinteresting to see how theyA) develop and B) are treated by the media in coming days/years. Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood
So cute.. one twin goes right after the other. No agenda at all! Keep in mind, it's not really a surprise that the Morris' - combined with Thomas Robinson - could present a match-up problem against some college teams, but they were overrated, with announcers' having veritable orgasms talking about "the twins"...
Due to a trade between Minnesota and Houston.. Minnesota now has Nikola Mirotic and Houston has Donatas Montiejunas! With Yao perpetually-injured and a frontcourt that is purely lacking, this is a much better fit for Montiejunas.
