Murat Gassiev (20-0, age 21) is now fighting in the USA and will next face a Negro boxer named Felix Cora (25-6) in a 12 round fight for the IBF Inter-Continental Cruiserweight Title.

He will be fighting Cora on a Fox Sports telecast this Friday evening. Here is Gassiev:

Murat beat Cora from stem to stern with a barrage of lefts to the body, and tight, crisp combinations to the head. Ultimately, he scored a late round stoppage set-up by an uppercut and left hook.

The negro Cora can take a punch, but offered only sporadic return shots that did little to stem Murat's merciless beat-down.

Murat will need to work on getting his combinations in, then moving out while maintaining a jab. I noted that he often stood in the pocket too long after throwing his punches.

All in all, an enjoyable dismantling by a power-punching Russian.

Gay-sounding Steve Farhood, who seems to hate European boxers, always goes on and on about East European boxers having more amateur experience than their African-American opponents, in an effort to discredit their wins.

However, Thomas has 100 amateur fights compared to young Gassiev's 23. It's a safe bet Farhood won't bring up amateur experience during this one.

Just saw Murat Gassiev KO Jordan Shimmell in 1 round (Shimmell is an American Amateur National Champion and Golden Gloves Winner in the USA).

Definitely a contender for KO of the Year, at first glance Id say it probably is the most devastating KO Ive seen all year thus far. Gassiev caught Shimmell with a hook and Shimmell buckled and came crashing down, out cold, eyes closed. Took about 5 minutes to get to his feet after receiving oxygen. That was one hell of a knockout, even worse than the recent Canelo-Khan, or Wilder-Szpilka.

Gassiev is someone to keep an eye on, he can definitely hit. Would like to see him jabbing more though, and perhaps boxing his way in or setting up his shots. He is only 22 years old and already seems to be a solid contender at Cruiserweight. Same trainer as GGG!

Just watched the fight. Wlodarczyk is a top level fighter with a very good resume. He is 36, but has never been stopped before. Gassiev has some serious power to be able to stop him in his tracks like that early in the fight. Truthfully I hadn't paid attention to this guy, but will keep an eye on him now. The eastern euros are dominating cruiserweight right now with Usyk, Lebedev, Breidis, Glowaki and Gassiev! Pretty cool division to watch!

Russian fighters (Ukrainians in particular) are the new boxing elite. However, Lomachenko has revolutionized the sport, and his style owes homage to Bruce Lee. Lee was the first fighter to stress using their dominant hand as their lead hand, instead of their power. He also stressed dominant foot positioning (watch Loma's feet when he fights) as it confused his opponents. Loma also uses a psychological coach to craft portions of his workouts (his training regime is something else), like Bruce Lee was an advocate of mental conditioning.

I don't know what you guys think of Asians, but I group them with us, as they are treated like us by the blacks and the Marxist media (see Jeremy Lin). Here is the funny thing: there is a young fighter out of England named Josh Kelly who has the same style as Loma. His style is changing the game, and I don't see anyone that isn't white (and possibly Asian) being able to combine the athleticism and intelligence to make it work.

Looks like Gassiev is the real deal. Look forward to his career and stopping affeletic fighters. He also trains with GGG. Which no doubt will be a great influence.

This is a great match-up and should be an great fight. The Cuban reminds me of Felix Trinidad with his smooth power, and Gassiev seems as explosive as any fighter out there today.

Hope I can catch it on TV somewhere.

This is a 50-50 matchup, to be fair the Cuban is a very good fighter.

Dorticos is not a full-blooded Negro, he's of mixed race. He doesn't fight with as cowardly a style as defensive runners like Rigondeaux and Lara.

Gassiev is powerful but a bit raw (only 25 amateur fights) compared to the Cuban and Lebedev boxed his ears off at times in their fight so Gassiev has his work cut out for him.

Great fight. Gassiev did a beautiful job of boxing. I thought he was just a walk in and blast away guy, but he showed good skills in the pocket. 95 percent of the Cuban's right crosses hit gloves or air. And he didn't fade or lose heart when Dorticos took his hellacious shots. Great job by the Ossetian.

Yeah, Sanchez guided GGG to superstardom, hopefully, he will guide Gassiev as well. He definitely has the skills and ring IQ.

Just watched the replay. Man, what a complete fighter Gassiev is. Subliminal boxing skills for a big man, quick hands, and incredible stamina. A deadly combination for his opponents. His future is bright. What an incredible prize fight between two elite professionals. Not a clitch the whole fight! Kudos to Doritics. He kept coming the whole fight until he was worn down in the last two rounds. Incredible courage. Gassiev has this great combo. When he left hooks to the body or head, while his opponent winces from pain, he immediately whips a vicious uppercut. I can not see anyone beating him at 200 lbs. He resembles Marciano in build, but way more skilled. There is not doubt, he will become an undisputed champ and top 10 or 5 PFP fighter!
